Review
Updated.
First
impression
on
driving
in
was
not
overly
impressive,
appears
very
dated.
This
impression
didn't
get
better
on
walking
into
the
temporary
reception,
which
also
was
dated.
Renovations
are
going
on,
with
pictures
of
how
grand
it'll
look,
but
none
of
this
is
helpful
to
me
as
I
look
around
the
temporary
dining
room
come
reception
area.
The
breakfast
dining
area,
although
only
temporary
whilst
renovations
are
ongoing,
was
dingy
and
dark
and
not
inviting.
This
manifested
in
a
not
very
nice
breakfast
experience.
That
said,
the
food
on
offer
was
standard
hotel
fare
and
the
choice
was
decent.
The
hotel
bedroom
is
a
mix
up
of
various
styles
from
decades
past.
The
styling
is
odd,
with
mismatched
furniture.
Upon
closer
inspection
my
kettle
was
very
dirty
on
the
outside
with
marks,
fingerprints
etc.
The
carpet
has
seen
better
days
and
the
wall
was
covered
in
marks
and
stains
and
most
definitely
in
need
of
a
fresh
lick
of
paint.
The
two
lights
either
side
of
the
bed,
one
was
loose
and
flapping
and
the
other
didn't
even
have
a
light
bulb.
Everything
just
looks
like
it
should
have
been
replaced
long
ago.
The
bathroom
is
small,
but
adequate
but
again
showing
signs
of
neglect
with
the
board
under
the
shower
loose
and
a
cracked
sink.
It
needs
a
little
TLC.
A
colleague
staying
in
another
room
stated
unpleasantly
that
he
had
skid
marks
in
his
toilet
in
his
supposedly
clean
room
on
checking
in!
On
a
positive,
the
room
was
quiet
and
I
slept
very
well
on
a
very
comfy
mattress.
I
have
updated
this
review
as
today
I
received
a
£100
parking
fine
for
staying
in
the
hotel
car
park,
despite
registering
my
vehicle
with
reception
upon
checking
in.
I
stayed
for
5
nights.
Whilst
mistakes
can
and
do
happen,
I
am
now
left
with
the
hassle
of
having
the
ticket
cancelled.
I
hope
I
do
not
receive
more?
Karma
for
leaving
a
bad
review
perhaps?
Holiday
Inn,
how
does
this
happen?
What
with
receiving
a
parking
fine
for
my
stay
and
the
substandard
rooms,
I
would
not
recommend
staying
at
Holiday
Inn
until
they
improve
things.
