Decent place for a meeting, and they do a nice breakfast buffet. Staff keep the place clean and tidy, and ample parking. It was nice and easy to get to from the motorway as well, which was very good. There's a ramp for wheelchair access, too. I didn't stay here, so I can't comment on the rooms. Parking is free, but make sure you input your reg at the desk. Otherwise, you can get a ticket.

The room was decently comfortable for 1 or two nights. Despite the slightly dated exterior, the rooms are modern and clean. There was a wedding party taking place which led to some noise in the corridor, but otherwise a pleasant stay.

The rooms are minute and need redecorating. The bathroom is also minute with enough space for only one person. The room facilities were adequate. The hotel is quite dated and looks like a 1950s built care home. However the service from the staff in the dining room and during the wedding reception was exceptional.

Great place, lovely clean rooms and obviously recently renewed. Kettle and coffee machine provided in the room plus toiletries. Also fridge in the room. Lovely and warm. Breakfast buffet style and the friendly staff will help you however they can including making you poached eggs. Thankyou to jay and Ellen. Would highly recommend visiting if in this area ideal place. Please be aware location is not near amenities so be prepared

The staff are generally friendly and the rooms are a decent enough size, however, for me it falls down on two points. The first is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of variety in their menu, it's either super healthy, or close on being a takeaway, there's no in-between. The other, and more serious of the issues, is that they house college students during the week under something called "Remit", and those kids spend most of the evening running up and down the corridors, banging on each other's doors, and blocking corridors. They are a nuisance, and if I'm being honest, now that I know that they are there Monday-Friday each week, if work wasn't paying for the hotel when it was needed, I wouldn't go.

About 15 minutes from EMA. Hotel is easy to get to. The rooms are compact and very comfortable. We would definitely use this Holiday Inn again.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, rooms small and dirty, beds broken, housekeeping chapping your door and waking us up at 8.30 am. Breakfast is a joke getting served food that was frozen in the middle. Staff rude and unapologetic. Sickness all over the halls and floors . An utter joke of a hotel. I should of twigged what kind of hotel we were staying in when the hotel emails you prior to staying asking if we found our stay below a 7 , then not to put a review on and to contact them 🤔

Review Updated. First impression on driving in was not overly impressive, appears very dated. This impression didn't get better on walking into the temporary reception, which also was dated. Renovations are going on, with pictures of how grand it'll look, but none of this is helpful to me as I look around the temporary dining room come reception area. The breakfast dining area, although only temporary whilst renovations are ongoing, was dingy and dark and not inviting. This manifested in a not very nice breakfast experience. That said, the food on offer was standard hotel fare and the choice was decent. The hotel bedroom is a mix up of various styles from decades past. The styling is odd, with mismatched furniture. Upon closer inspection my kettle was very dirty on the outside with marks, fingerprints etc. The carpet has seen better days and the wall was covered in marks and stains and most definitely in need of a fresh lick of paint. The two lights either side of the bed, one was loose and flapping and the other didn't even have a light bulb. Everything just looks like it should have been replaced long ago. The bathroom is small, but adequate but again showing signs of neglect with the board under the shower loose and a cracked sink. It needs a little TLC. A colleague staying in another room stated unpleasantly that he had skid marks in his toilet in his supposedly clean room on checking in! On a positive, the room was quiet and I slept very well on a very comfy mattress. I have updated this review as today I received a £100 parking fine for staying in the hotel car park, despite registering my vehicle with reception upon checking in. I stayed for 5 nights. Whilst mistakes can and do happen, I am now left with the hassle of having the ticket cancelled. I hope I do not receive more? Karma for leaving a bad review perhaps? Holiday Inn, how does this happen? What with receiving a parking fine for my stay and the substandard rooms, I would not recommend staying at Holiday Inn until they improve things.

This was our second visit, and on our first visit, the room we were given was a small twin, and couldn't swing a cat in it. However, in this second visit, they gave a much larger twin, so my review will be based on this visit. Room was very good, spacious comfy beds. Staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good, with a good variety of food. I would recommend this hotel.

It would have been 5 out of 5 if they would just update their keycard system! As most people carry cards with their phones it's not advised to use cards that get erased when near a phone. Especially in this time and age. Just get RFID or something instead of the out dated chips. Room was spot on hand lotions, shampoo and hand and body soap which seems of high quality. A few refreshing drinks and a nice chocolate bar where waiting in the room when I checked in. Friendly service also a pretty good ordering system in their restaurant. I woke up 5 o clock as usual and I was allowed to take a brew from their restaurant machine for my drive to work. Just update the keycard system to 2022 and it's 5/5!

The room was spacious, bathroom not so much. You've got to be slim to sit on the toilet properly without touching the bath and wall next to you. Not sure why they couldn't just have it as a wet room like other locations then you'd have more space. I went to close the curtains when I arrived to find a few small flies, a mosquito & some moths just relaxing on the white curtain. Managed to kill the mosquito so it couldn't eat me alive in my sleep, but the rest just kept flying about. I probably could've called the front desk or gone to request another room but I was incredibly tired & didn't want to make a fuss at that time. Walls were thin, since I arrived quite late and all I could hear once I sat down was snoring and car doors and engines from the car park. Therefore I couldn't get to sleep until about 2am. I was woken up about 8.30am to the cleaners shouting to each other down the corridor outside my room. I could hear them knocking on doors and shouting housekeeping all the way down the corridor. They then knocked on mine before 9am and tried to come in, luckily I had the latch on the door. By 9.30 they tried again, surely they knew I wasn't out my room yet as they hadn't moved on from my floor... Reception staff were great, I would've mentioned it to them but I felt like I had to rush to wake up and leave so I completely forgot, I just checked out and left. The location of this hotel is good & it's reasonably cheap so if you need a place to stop during a long drive it's okay. I wouldn't recommend it for any stays longer than one night.

We were very happy with our stay, more than anything because of the exceptional service we received. We were greeted on arrival by Henry who was friendly and personable, allowed us to check in early (we were going to a wedding) and also moved our room so we were near our friends. Henry also upsold us to get breakfast the next morning which was actually of a very good quality (great bread!) The building and the rooms are basic but very good for the price. For the service and the price it absolutely beat anything we could have found elsewhere or on Airbnb Thanks Henry!

The staff were professional, courteous and very helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Some parts of the hotel are undergoing refurbishment but this did not impact on our stay at all. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Beds comfortable, rooms simple with what you needed. Breakfast first day not great second day much better. Best to book breakfast when you book otherwise very expensive is you buy it there. We ate one evening whilst the food and service was fine it's very expensive for what it is. Not fine dining and alcohol very expensive. The hotel was costly to stay per night in my opinion and no facilities to merit the cost.

Two day stay with my sons. Staff were really nice and helpful. Food was very good and lots of choice at the Breakfast. Room was fine. Bathroom could do with a new sealant round the bath but I'm probably just nitpicking. Room and breakfast were worth the cost.

Great hotel with very friendly staff. Only downside was the lack of consistency in the rooms. Colleagues told me that they'd had crisps and chocolate in their fridges in the premium rooms but I didn't have any. Also the coffee machine still had old, used coffee pods/bags inside it.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights in November when we were up in Nottingham visiting our son at the University. It's only 15 minutes drive or so from this Holiday Inn adjacent to the M1 to the student part of town. There was loads of parking. The hotel is what it is. A building of its time. And that time was probably the 1970s! It's really not that much to look at. But inside, it's perfectly fine. The rooms were clean, relatively spacious, warm and well looked after. And they did what we wanted them to do. We had breakfast one morning and it's hard to beat an eat all you can breakfast buffet! The staff here were brilliant. It probably helped that there are fewer guests at the weekend and so they have time to interact with the staff but they were consistently helpful and engaging. We'd probably stay here again. But if I'm honest, I'd probably put my IHG points towards staying in the Crowne Plaza in the city centre.

Great customer service from all staff. Cooked Breakfast was included for each morning, after each nights stay. Images of whats on offer for breakfast included. Purchased hotel through Alton Towers Holidays for staying three nights in hotel. Location of Hotel was around 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 to get to Alton Towers, depending on road closures. Reception is through the main doors, turn left and 100 yards down on the left. Parking seemed on even for my long based van. There were a few spaces to choose from, each time I went to park. Very happy with my stay here. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We had an amazing stay this weekend. My wife and I stayed with our in-laws for a Spa weekend and chose the Holiday Inn as it was near to the Spa location. The rooms were very clean and the furniture in the lounge and restaurant were really comfortable. The food was lovely and you get a lot for your money. The buffet breakfast was also amazing with a great choice of hot and cold food. All of the staff were great and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Special praise for Serena (the hotel manager), Dion and Casey who were exceptional and always went the extra mile to provide quality service, in fact it's possibly the best customer service I've ever received at any hotel. On our return from the spa, we were greeted with a complimentary fruit platter and a coupon for drinks and snacks, it really made our stay complete and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be returning again.
