A place to reflect especially during ANZAC day. Have been to few dawn services here and it's a sombre experience with so many people attending at the crack of dawn. It's a monolithic stone block with two bronze statues of a soldier and a sailor standing guard. This is also a place to reflect on Armistice Day. The carvings read "Lest We Forget" on one side and "To Our Glorious Dead" on the other side. It's a beautiful War Memorial in Martin Place. Curiously, it stands right in front of number 1 Martin Place.

This is a nice place to relax. There are bench in the place that you make take just to look at the entire place. There is also a flower shop which sell tulips. So beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜

A significant war memorial outside the GPO. The monument is almost a century old and commemorates Australians who died in service during World War I.

This lovely memorial has been here since Martin Place was a roadway!! Now the freshly cleaned, weโ€™ll maintained soldiers can stand to attention in peace. A touching life size testimony to the bravery of those who fought died and survived the horrors of war slim fighting for our country. Lest we forget, you canโ€™t put todayโ€™s spin on what happened 60 years ago..let us honour the fallen, the maimed, injured, tortured, bereaved, childless..those who fought for what we have today - let us not squander the opportunity to fight just as hard for peace forgiveness freedom love..

Located in the bustling heart of Sydneyโ€™s CBD in Martin Place, the cenotaph offers an opportunity for quiet contemplation and the chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have died in various wars. It is also the centrepiece of the cityโ€™s Anzac Day celebration. Lots of transport and food / drink options nearby.

Great place to go to the statue looks really nice and it has such a important significants for this country and people should really show respect to this site and not go and damage and ruin this memorial because with out the Australian army we will not be living in this peaceful country and also it is a great place to take kids as well
