Nice place in the heart of Asmara city. The rooms are spacious with Wifi (although connectivity is an issue throughout Asmara). Reception staff are friendly. A restaurant is in place but ther are other joints nearby where one can go for a meal or drink.

Good hotel right in centre of town. Service in restaurant a wee bit slow. Wifi very very poor. I think difficult to get WiFi in whole of Eritrea. Just okay for email only. Rooms are big with good hot water. Has a minifridge with beers and water.

Among the best hotels in the whole of Eritrea. Indeed frequented by staff and delegates of international organisations, attesting to the quality. Very friendly welcome by a dedicated staff; no language barriers as they make the effort to speak your language. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable, there is water (hot and cold) constantly at good pressure. They are very clean and there's a team of dedicated (mature) ladies who spend their day cleaning and sprucing. You won't find anything out of place. The hotel adapts to the needs of the guest. For instance, when they noticed that I didn't use the hotel soap, they went and got me a bigger better perfumed soap, without me asking! There is wifi connection receivable in all rooms, one can get connected to email, websites and ither chat apps on phone ... but the speed calls for a truckload of patience.

Service at it's best! Best service you can get for the money you pay. Professional and friendly staff. Clean room with WIFI and cable TV. They made my first trip to Eritrea Amazing. I felt like home. They provided everything I asked and were willing to help me in anything I needed. Their service fee is very reasonable, they provided free breakfast. Also, the Hotel is located at the center of town. I fall in Love with Asmara and it's people. I stayed for one week and had no problem at all. I will definitely go back to Asmara and Of course, I will stay at Crystal Hotel!!!!!!!!

Am rating it as 5 star because of the level of the Country hotels which is very low, so when you consider this one having the basic life needs at all time (Water, electricity and bed), plus they have a friendly staff. So got to gave them credit for it. Good luck.

Awesome location. Great food at the cafe with one of the best guava juices I had during my visit to Eritrea. Has a wifi but don’t expect to be able to connect to your gmail or anything like that… The room was spacious and nice but our bathroom smelled quite bad. Not sure what was going on there but definitely something that needs some attention from management.

Good Mid-Range hotel in a nice location Even though the hotel might not look grand from outside, it comes with all the creature comforts one can expect from an African style Business hotel and is quite clean and neat and a great value for money option in the heart of downtown LOCATION: Excellent location, right in the heart of old town and close to all key points of interest DINE + DRINK: Good Coffee shop/bar/restaurant at the lobby level that is quite popular with the locals too ROOM: I stayed in 153, so this review is based on that; VIEW:Lovely view of the Heritage buildings in front and great during sunset ; SIZE: reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Lousy Air conditioner that barely worked!!; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Decent and clean bathroom with a weak shower!; TOILETRIES: Poor Quality, do bring your own! FACILITIES:Be prepared to get into a pure African chill-out mode! No Gym or pool on site SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: WIFI is a joke here and never works (even not possible to post an instagram pic without spending 10 minutes staring at the device) and the Television set is old school CRT box with barely any channels in English to watch. Time to Unplug and Unwire!!

Considering the tourism and Hitel development of Eritrea, Crystal Hotel is one of the too destinations of tourists. I don't know why but most tourists prefer this hotel due to its good service, friendly staff and fair price. It's found upfront of the customs office.

Clean, silent, good restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, central location. Not exactly cheap compared to price levels in Eritrea, but selection of decent hotels in Asmara is limited. Especially the restaurant is somewhat pricey.

I was here in 08' the place didn't change much. This place actually has a better view of conscripted soldiers marching and digging for gold for their corrupt masters. Its hard to find parking sometimes when the President for life stops by they shut down the road, set up military checkpoints everywhere and interrogate anyone within a 10 mile radius of the area. Nice hotel though...
