Dated Disaster at a great location If Tripadvisor had allowed me, I would have given this place ½ Star - Sadly, I have to upgrade the rating to 1 star! I dont typically diss a hotel too much but, Everything about the hotel and service is extremely poor quality and doesnt deserve the money you pay for it!Other than the location and the cool bar near the waterfront there is nothing positive about this place. The rooms were so poor(tried multiple rooms!) that we even spotted a few cockroaches and bugs on the floor and trying to get into our suitcases! LOCATION: Great Location that is right next to the waterfront and is one of the biggest highlights of this place and walkable distance from the Old town and heritage buildings. DINE + DRINK: Wonderful Bar/Restaurant right next to the waterfront is a magical place to spend the evening and for sundowners. Food on the menu was ok, but the Chef (MICHAEL) whipped up some special local dishes for us ROOM: I stayed in 153, so this review is based on that; VIEW:Lovely view of the waterfront and the pool from a private balcony ; SIZE: reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Lousy Air conditioner that barely worked and we couldnt sleep at all in the night!!; BED: Tired and old bed with loser pillows!; BATHROOM:Horrible Bathroom with ice cold water and they were cavalier to state that they dont HOT water at the property at all!; TOILETRIES: Poor Quality, do bring your own! FACILITIES:Be prepared to get into a pure African chill-out mode! No Gym on site - and the gorgeous looking pool is barely usable SERVICE: one of the worst staff that i have ever come across in the Entire continent and I have been to more than 30 countries in Africa and quite used to the kind of service one can expect from this part of the world, but they still went way beyond that threshold of tolerance! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: WIFI is a joke here and never works (even not possible to post an instagram pic without spending 10 minutes staring at the device) and the Television set is old school CRT box with barely any channels in English to watch. Time to Unplug and Unwire!!

When we arrive at the hotel inside the building was speechless beautiful whoever have this dream I mean unbelievable he done a great job but with the service I am not please off and very understandable with all the problem that we have in Eritrea they don't have all the resources that they can provide us incomplete service and the towels with the cleanness of the rooms I was very unhappy then talking to the management and asking questions I find out that it was because of the reason what is happening in the country other then that the people was fantastic the food was great and the place was unbelievable is the most beautiful hotel and resort that I am glad to be again and again and again

A beautiful and majestic looking building but run down hotel in this desert city along the Red Sea. Very poor maintenance. Very big rooms with air con and fan. Water for is a tiny drip drip drip. Restaurant service very very slow. Better just to walk 100 metres down the road in front of the port where are many restaurants serving good inexpensive dishes with excellent service. No WiFi

No bath towels, internet was very slow. Room was spacious with a tall roof . Good view and located right next to the sea port.

Our rooms were over-priced and not particularly clean. The A/C was noisy . I kept my windows open all night rather than endure the clapped out A/C.<br/>The reception desk staff were indifferent and embarrassed. I asked to speak to the manager/owner but no one seemed particularly keen to find him. I ended up speaking to the housekeeper who apologised but was clearly not remotely interested in giving me a a reduction of any sort.

Good waterfront view. Nice restaurant and amazing 24/7 AC for the boiling temperature.
