I would say Grand is the best dine in at Kochi. Superb ambience, ample parking space, very good staff over and above that food is really tasty. If someone is asking you about a place to dine in, trust me, you can just close your eyes and suggest this place. Best for families and friends dine out. Finally, if you are a person who prefer to be served with Liquor on your dining table, this is the place for you 😄. The quality and quantity of food served is on the higherside and hence the price as well. So the crowd that comes in Grand are cream of people who can afford the cost.

It's no surprise that this place is consistently bustling with people! They offer a delightful array of flavorful dishes that instantly turn you into a loyal customer. Additionally, the convenience of ample parking in the city center and the presence of attentive staff contribute to a positive dining experience.

Went here to have lunch at the restaurant. Two words for it - Overpriced and Overrated. By virtue of location and old brand name, the managers are sure about the fact that they will receive exceptional crowds no matter what price they're gonna set for the items. The quality and taste of food doesn't quite well match with the humongous price. Restaurant is heavily packed especially during the weekends and you may have to wait for some time before they can find a table for you. Ample waiting space is available. Valet parking is provided when the crowd is high. Service is quite poor. Restaurant is honestly understaffed to deal with the crowds they recieve. Even something as simple as water gets quite a lot of time to be served after being asked. They keep mineral water bottles as default like many other restaurants so that they can charge heavily for it if we open it. Only interesting and pragmatic thing I could find here was that they place the Menu as paper table mats under our dishes (as seen in photo). This saves quite a lot of time that we would have wasted asking for menu from the waiters. Also we get a menu we can use throughout our meal and plan later dishes accordingly. Obviously saves a lot of time for the restaurant in cleaning the table too as they can just simple remove the large paper menu and throw it away. Handwash area is tiny and not suitable for a restaurant with this level of crowd. There's just space for two people to wash at a time which even forces people to queue up at times just to simply wash their hands. Parking space is again quite less to deal with the crowds but I guess that can be excused as the hotel is situated right at a very busy prime location in the city and it's very hard to find area for it.

I stayed here with my husband for two days. Rooms are neat and well furnished. Stay was very comfortable. The restaurant serves signature cuisines. We are given with the option to order from outside as well. This hotel ensures the comfort of guests and respect our freedom.

Good rooms! Nice location and good staff. They provided early check-in based on availability. Washrooms are neat however needs some renovation. Breakfast spread was decent won't say the best... Overall good place to stay...Recommended for couples and family

Pros: (This is about the standard AC room) The best part is that this hotel is located on MG Road at a walkable distance from Maharaja's College metro station. It is very accessible and it is located at the centre of the city. Rooms are very good. Lifts are available so it is wheel chair accessible. Laundry and room services are available. Mini fridge is available but it is not stocked. Free breakfast is available from 8-10AM. (Note: Dinner is payable extra but very few 4 star hotels offer free dinner too) The staff are very polite and helpful. My stay was a pleasant one and quite hassle-free. Cons: Safe is not available I couldn't find a printed menu in the room

Went there for lunch. Ordered one veg meals and one fish curry meals. We were served with only one side dish (for both veg and fish meals) when asked what else they serve the reply was “this is only what we serve for meal” The bill came 750 Rs for just. It is just overpriced and not at all worth.

This is not a review about the stay in at grand Hotel. Once in a while lunch at grand was usual thing for family. After covid, this was the first time we went there. There was a waiting time and our family could not sit together due to the lunch. This was not Unexpected. However, the food was disappointing to say the least. We ordered rice meals, biriyani and American Chopsuey. I hope they renew their quality of good take the feedback

A neat and classy place managed by an arrogant and rude manager Mr. Johnson. Their food quality is good. The restaurant staff are very polite. The only negative factor is that the manager has no class. I had a very bad experience while dining at their restaurant with my wife and children. He humiliated us, he was acting like a cheap loser. I kept silent without responding because my wife and children were with me and I didn't want to make a scene. Finally while we were exiting the restaurant another manager Mr. Raghu and other staff apologised for the misconduct of the other guy.

Grand is only in the name. Quality of food is really bad. No, I am not even considering the prices they are charging. Chinese should be strictly avoided. Starters- there's hardly any and most are better if you avoid them. Among the orders we made, Kerala Parotta was only worth tasting. Rest all were stale. Pros- you can have liquor in their restaurant. Cons- food served is sub standard. Avoid the food unless you are at a gun point

Ordered Chicken biryani, grand special chicken fry, and prawns olarthu. The biryani was okay, but the chicken and prawns were pathetic. And the service is so poor. They only have two washing counters for men and two for women. We waited in a queue to wash our hands.

A restaurant always like to go from childhood... Bitter experience in restaurant with the service... Half cooked food... When complained don't care nature and. Finaly a bill with little bit reduction... And now don't feel to go there..... When shared with friends...they too had similar experience...seen Grand what it was for last 3-4 decades...... This not expected from Grand...

As a Kochi local, I've known about the Grand Hotel for years, and it's one of my go-to options when it comes to both stay and dining experiences. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the rates are definitely budget-friendly, especially when compared to other hotels in the area. The hotel is conveniently located on MG Road, and there is ample parking available, which is always a plus. The restaurant at the Grand Hotel is always crowded, and for good reason. The Kerala cuisine served here is simply amazing, and it's always a treat to dine here. The staff are friendly and accommodating, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Kochi, as it's definitely one of the city's culinary gems. Overall, the Grand Hotel is a great choice for both tourists and locals alike. Whether you're looking for a comfortable stay or a delicious meal, this hotel definitely delivers

Only came to eat, but the service was horrendous. Was waiting an hour+ but the waiter we asked said we had only been waiting for half an hour. He had no idea what he was talking about and just wanted us to wait even longer than we already had without complaining. Our food was decent, but the service is horrendous. Recommend to go somewhere with quicker service.

I stayed at Grand Hotel for two days with my wife. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay. There is a restaurant in the ground floor which serves delicious food with unique taste. Though there is restaurant inside, they won't restrict the guest from ordering from outside and take it to room. Grand Hotel is a recommend stay in Ernakulam.

We recently stayed at "The Grand" hotel, but unfortunately, it was far from a grand experience. The lift and hallway had an unpleasant odor, and the face towel in the washroom was dirty. To make matters worse, the toilet paper was finished, and the phone in the room wasn't working initially. Although the phone was fixed and the toilet paper was brought upon request, it was a half-used roll from another room. When I mentioned these issues to the receptionist during check-out, they seemed disinterested. Due to these experiences, we have decided to cancel our booking for next month. It's disappointing that such a renowned and historic hotel lacked basic courtesy.

Review about their restaurant, my family liked non-veg meal, it was ok. I ordered veg meal, and on that side they gave me dried shrimp chutney, i told them about it, and they just removed from that plate, instead of changing the entire plate. Biriyani was ok

Grand Hotel doesn’t meet the expectations like it had before. Had gone to the hotel for Lunch. Had Fish curry meals. Had special Karimeen Polichathu, Prawns and Squid Ularthiyathu. All were not upto the expectations and was very expensive. It was not at all worth it. You need a good lunch? Have meals from Paragon Lulu Mall, Kochi. It’s so much more tastier and not as expensive as compared to Grand Hotel.

I had a very bad experience.Yesterday I walked in Grand for lunch. Had Mutton biryani. After two hours itching started all over my body.By evening I had severe giddiness and taken to hospital. The food was vomited and with "avil" tablet and calamine lotion I managed whole night. When we go out lunch in Grand hotel, minimum quality is expected though we pay more.I believe that the food served was not mutton, but young buffalo.Either your vendor has cheated you or you did it deliberately. The ultimate victim was me.Never to Grand hotel.

The place completely lacks the legacy they maintained for a longtime. Was a regular visitor to their restaurant and the Appam Fish Molly and Karimeen Pollichathu were the favourites and they were famous for these dishes. This visit was not so satisfactory for me and my guests too. The service was good, but the appams served were not crispy as it used to be, and were not so tasty too. The curries served too lacked the quality of taste and felt like they served it post just heating it up and not freshly made or so Eventhough they took enough time to serve.

I have been to many five star hotels, but this is my best experience so far. There is no doubt to their hospitality. I would like to thank to the management who has trained their staff.

Its like an okay hotel. Couple friendly just need to submit the proof of number of persons staying there. Ground floor restaurant is available but not owned by hotel people its third party. They will allow to get out side food and also can be ordered through swiggy or zomato. Rooms are old wont say value for money you will get better hotel and rooms on the same tariff.

Didn't stay here ,only had lunch from here. Tried their dum mutton biryani, it was ok I would say. Not sure it was really a dum biriyani. I liked the lemon pickle a lot. They provide a basket full of papad. The cost is not at all justified,it's almost 1.5 times more than the nearby famous restaurant's.one more surprise for me was , they provide egg with mutton biryani which I never experienced in any other restaurants. This is a very old hotel in this locality. May be that's the one reason for the crowd.

We used to stay at Grand Hotel most of the time. However, this time the beef Curry wasn't good as there were bad small with it. Informed Hotel Management to take care of this because, initially 2 sons started vomiting in the middle of night during our stay there, 4 days ago. Later on it spread that uneasiness to my wife & myself as I'm undergoing medication 🙏🧐🤔

We had a very comfortable stay here. Neat and clean rooms. The non veg food served at the hotel was very tasty. The location was right at the city center, and travelling to places like Fort Kochi, marine drive etc was very easy from here.

It is conveniently close to the metro and it is positioned well. Both the food and the service were excellent. Despite my inability to view the room, I assume it is as good as my friends have claimed. All in all, the hotel is nice and has a delicious menu.

I had dinner from here yesterday ordered Goan fish curry and butter chicken which was very pathetic. There was no match for grand once up on a time. This is third time I am disappointed. Should check the quality of food serving. And the person who was serving was took the order with out any interest I think I rushed to the hotel last minute 10.15 pm , may be that is the reason. He really expressed his mood in his face. Management should look in to the services provided.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Grand Hotel Cochin... in November 2023. Check in and Check out both seamless and hassle free.Staff at the reception were polite and professional. We had booked 2 standard rooms ,but were upgraded to the executive rooms. spacious, clean and comfortable... decently equipped and functional.. View facing the road. Bathroom size and toiletries upto the mark..with hot n cold water running faucet at the wash basin and adequate water pressure from the shower. We had buffet breakfast continental.. included in our room rate.. Restaurant staff were all pleasant.. BFast decent enough spread Dinner at the restaurant both quality and quantity wise was in line with the earlier positive reviews by other guests and we enjoyed the non veg cuisine. There is a dedicated travel desk manned at the hotel lobby ,whose services we used . Since the Hotel is at a prime location, plenty of Uber, ola cabs around..and proximity to landmarks. The ernakulam south station at a walkable distance. since it was our first time visit to cochin city and Hotel grand , Happy that we came across this Hotel by chance . Also would definitely recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay

Never ever go to this restaurant!!!! The staff are neither polite nor customer friendly, and the food is unimaginably expensive (see attached bill). We don’t know how the accommodation is. We (two ladies) went to the restaurant for dinner on our friend’s recommendation. None appeared to take our order for more then 10 minutes even though more than 3 waiters were loitering around!!! We ordered 2 wheat porottas ,one karimeen curry and 2 lemon tea. The gravy was very tasty but the fish was totally blunt!!! For the lemon tea ,they brought a small pitcher of black tea made with tea bags and some lemon slices. When we asked why the black tea wasn’t freshly prepared 3 of the staffs responded in an inappropriate manner. We also realised that their customer service hugely depend on the appearance/gender.

It's one of the "to go places" for food in Ernakulam. Good food. Heavily subscribed. Un ending parking place . So if you are looking just for food Please don't miss it. But the crowd ! It's packed and thus the noise level deafening. If you don't get there early be sure you will wait . Weekends the wait could be a test of patience.

Stay was v good. The best part of Grand hotel lies with their quality of kerala food which they try to maintain over years. And as it is on mg road it is very accessible to all nearby places & shopping areas.

Visited Cochin after a long time and was staying at some other hotel nearby. One of my friends suggested that I should try food in this restaurant. I relished food so much that I continued to have my diiner next two days. Day 1 I had Appam with mutton stew and on subsequent days thali. The food is awesome and the ambiance is great. Staff is courteous. A very special mention of Mr. Sajan. Decided to stay in this hotel during my next visit. Thank you folks ....

The hotel has an antiquated and royal feel thanks to the amazing interiors and furniture. The place is also very well maintained and clean. There is great attention to detail aesthetic wise and also rooms are very equipped with necessary facilities.

A very good and comfortable hotel. They have large, well maintained rooms at an affordable price. Got an executive twin bed room CP plan at 3500,which is very reasonable.

One of the must go for food spot in Ernakulam. But place is higly crowded always and thus the noise level deafening. If you don't get there early, especially for lunch be sure you will have to wait . Weekends and holidays the wait could test your patience. Highly recommended for foodies who like seafood more and sufficient parking place, and well behaved staffs are the major pros.

  • 1/5 Jisha H. 1 year ago on Google
Didn't stay there, but tried the restaurant and never again. The food was terrible and service probably the worst I have seen on my kerala visits. The servers were rude, inattentive and unresponsive. If the food was good, it'd have atleast made up for it a little, but it was also absolutely awful ( the other reviews about the biryani being awful is 100% accurate). We provided feedback to the manager who was responsive, but based on other negative reviews, seems like the bad service and food is in keeping for this restaurant. Maybe it was good at one point or at a different time, but if you are used to good food and service, this is not your place.

This is good 4 star hotel. I stayed in this hotel for 2 days in 2016. I really liked staying here. Rooms are big and good. Lobby area is also specious and comfortable. Most notably, the restaurant which is on the ground floor is very good. They have a lot of good and tasty food on the menu and it is not very expensive.

  • 2/5 Harish M. 1 year ago on Google
Stay was ok, but not recommended for families. No proper maintenance. Need to do pest control in side the room properly, as found lot of small cockroaches. Not customer friendly. Breakfast policy is bad. Initially they say, it is complement, but during check out they will demand money, unprofessional approach, as they say not mentioned in booking invoice. No proper coordination between the front desk staff.

  • 3/5 Elina Elsa M. 1 year ago on Google
Overall stay is alright. Breakfast is very mediocre unlike what they advertise. Fish curry meals and biriyani are no good now. Grand is losing their old charm. Also, What kind of hotel charges for drinking water?
