Highly Disappointed with Sunrise Hospital's Unprofessionalism My recent encounter with Sunrise Hospital during a bilateral DJ stent placement procedure was nothing short of a complete disappointment. Their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability left me highly dissatisfied. From the moment I entered, it was evident that the hospital's commitment to patient care was severely lacking. The room I was assigned was in a deplorable state, showing signs of neglect and inadequate maintenance. It was disheartening to witness such unhygienic and uncomfortable conditions in a healthcare facility. Adding insult to injury, the billing and pricing practices at Sunrise Hospital were shockingly opaque. Despite being a beneficiary of the government insurance program, Medisep, I was slapped with an exorbitant bill of ₹73,000. The same would cost even with the investigation charges a maximum of 55k at any other hospital. We didn't knew all this at the time. The surgery fee alone was 25k which is much higher than Renai (12k) or Amrita (8k). Please check these rates for yourself. They even have a separate OT rent which doesn't include consumables like oxygen used inside it. This kind of billing is not found in any other hospital. At least if the facilities were half better like any other, this pricing would have been barely justified, but its not. The non AC room we got had mold and windows leaking rain water inside and look at the bed was old and broken, even the nurses could not properly make it fold and unfold. Please compare this 3300 Rs per day room with any other hospital. The poor nurses were the only good thing there, but what can they do?. The doctor was very busy (theatre was like crowded and noisy and hectic according to the patient during the procedure). There was hardly any time for him to explain anything to the patient or bystanders. Finally we had to pay the total hospital bill (please note that any hospital which has medisep will have a separate medisep bill which is the only bill patient has to pay) but didn't gave us any bill, but upon asking they provided a provisional bill in which we found at least more than 3 billing errors which they acknowledged and later reduced from the total amount (some 100's only). I cannot stress more of the total unprofessionalism we experienced there. The lack of transparency and blatant disregard for patients financial and basic well-being was shocking .It is deeply concerning to witness such unprofessionalism within a healthcare institution, where patients' health and well-being should be paramount. Sunrise Hospital's negligence in maintaining basic standards of cleanliness and their unethical approach to billing have left me in disappointed..

Poor management and extreme time consuming process even for the procedures that shouldn’t necessarily take so much time .if you want to come here you should dedicate your full day.No matter how tired and how poor the patients condition from front desk to Pharmacy works like snail crawling.very poor management,

Very bad experience. Today night my husband visited the emergency for fever. The condition of emergency was so pathetic, very untidy and not cleaning the bed . The floor was full of waste , blood and other things. After paying the bill we understand one thing that sunrise hospital is business oriented hospital only. They were not focusing on any other thing like hygiene or patient conditions. They were taking extra payment for nursing care also but all these payments are not seen in caring or saftey of patients. Came here for COVAXIN injection, second dose. It was a pleasant experience. Being a Sunday, the crowd was lighter and there was sufficient parking space which was a definite plus. The security personnel were polite and directed us to the right building and helped us park. The vaccination center is conveniently located on the 4th floor of the MRI building which ensures you do not have to mingle with the hospital patients. Does make you feel somewhat safer than attending a OPD for the vaccine. The staff at the vaccination services were prompt and professional. And had a smile on their face which was soothing to the child getting the vaccine. Good work.. Keep it up..

The hospital is a good business enterprise but not a good hospital. The doctors here will first ask you to perform couple of tests, then will refer you to other departments which will conduct another set of tests. Then if everything is fine, then prescribe you vitamin tablets which you needs to buy from their medical store which is exorbitantly priced. If you wanted to fund the hospital, its a good place to visit. If you are going to take care of your health, please don’t visit this butchers. Doctors here are another form of evil. Hope they will start working with consciousness above the motive of achieving the target.

The difference they make is that the doctors and nurses and everyone cares about every patient. It's not that busy but parking is a problem. And casualty needs some work but overall they are good and you get a personal touch.

Professional doctors and nursing staff, friendly reception and security team, though the parking slots are limited. I would suggest to allow the parent or the bystander to be with the teenagers and kids while meeting the doctors at casualty to enable the patients to explain their symptoms and status efficiently and elaborately.

This review is not about the entire hospital. This is about the front desk(RTPCR BILLING). I Came here for RTPCR test. The front desk team didn't respond well. They took more than 1.5 hrs to just enter the data in the system. 5 people were sitting there n I was wondering what work they do. To move the form from one end to the other why they need this much time. That too they moved it after asking many times. This was the situation with most of the people who were waiting there. This need to be improved, this is a highly reputed hospital and we can't accept this kind of negligence from the team. The team behaves like we came here for free service. I hope this will be implemented with required actions.

i want a reply from the hospital, unless they dont entertain us "psychiatric case".... this was in 2016....patient id 85159 was given wrong medicines, while admitted ( think it was doctors mistake...didnt even say sorry...he wanted to inject me with sedative so i wud not complain..thats was his solution for my anxiety at having taken the dangerous combination of 3 antipsychotics at once...even 2 is considered risky. doctor forgot to write in file to stop previous meds..best....i also questioned, but luckily i knew enuf about this so i only took low dose ie. half of each tablet, else may have died or collapsed with heart issue...) and a bill of 5000 rupees for a counseling session by a psychologist reshmi who made things worse buy telling daddy to put me in mental hospital. real psychos. i havent taken case bcoz i am depressed about it even now.. only reason i gave 3 stars is because , 3 weeks after an accident, a nurse in the ER was able to get a very tiny sliver of glass out of my toe..which was awesome !. I was told by some family "I was imagining it" because i am a "psychiatric case".. my mother saw the nurse take it out. no one, not even MDs in other hospitals..didn't figure it out. nurses like these r our heroes. only given 3 stars bcoz all else is ok...

The Dermatologist Doctor Dr. Anuja is one of the best doctor I have come across! Proper needful treatment is provided with good care and medicines. Best one in Kakkanad or nearby areas ! We get proper results for the treatment. A got to place for any skin treatment or laser treatment!

I have been coming to this hospital for many days,Although there are many notable drawbacks, the most important is the very poor toilet facilities. The toilet here is not clean and very smelly. The cleaning staff cannot be blamed for this, the hospital management should take full responsibility for this. Immediately set up separate toilets for men and women and ensure proper maintenance. Most importantly don't blame your employees.

The doctors and nursing staffs are very cordial and experts, we came for gynecological treatment with Dr. Hafeez, he is a sort of celebrity, his team meets are active, professional and expert. We stayed for 5 days in the hospital due to my OT and some other complications. We had a pleasant stay at the hospital. All the staff including the helping assistant to cleaner all helped us cordially as we came from another country. I will recommend this hospital to everyone. They are bringing happiness to the people face. May Allah bless them. There were some issues with the room and they do not provide any toiletries with the cabins. So one should bring the essential toiletries with them if they are advised for stay in hospital

Attitude that matters. Updating the incident happens now We had a visit to the hospital for the first time today,for having an RTPCR test for my wife.Since we reached the hospital by 19:35 hours near the MRI scanning block.As usual as a fresher to the place i went to the reception where i asked the busiest lady sitting in the reception about the test schedule.Before ending my talk she come into the talk and inform me that the lab will close by 20:00hrs and we need to visit casuality if we requires the test.We can understand the situation that there will be lot of pending ones.I went tonthe casuality and the guy who stands there told me that we will only stsrt the test after 20:00 hrs please contact the MRI block.As it was my requirement i went over there again and spoke with the same lady over there told me to meet the nurse inside the lab and enquire her whether its possible to do it now.Its not a big deal fornme have a 30 foot steps and to ask her so i went and ask she explaind there was some ppsitive cases and still some pending tests in a polite manner.Appreciatable hospitality from her side. The hospital which is famous for their service was given such a pathetic care for a person who asks some quiries made me to write tis thing.The receptionist sitting in the MRI block need mandatory training how to deal with hospitality ethiqutte. May be its only a 9 hour shift for her but it all matters the reputation of the entire property. Rest all service were perfect

Went there by 10 am to consult a physician, but none were there. They recommended to go to casualty, paid consulation fee and went through the process . Then again after 4 days i went for follow up they asked me to pay the consultation again. So i had to pay twice in just a week time. The worst is pharmacy, people in there are just immature. There were 6 of them inside giggling and mocking each other when there were people queued up and waiting for medicine for almost half an hour.

Sunrise Hospital is functioning on Seaport-Airport Road, Kakkanad. Parking direction is given by the securities, they are very polite attitude and genuine on their duties. Here have different blocks like A-BLOCK and B-BLOCK. The customer care personnel approaches every customer and asking our needs, and the direction given by the customer care personnel is very helpful to find the appropriate doctors and also floors in respective blocks. They arrange helpful facilities like wheelchairs for the patients is very appreciable. All billing staff and Pharmacy staff are very well mannered. Nursing staffs are also well-mannered and professional. All doctors are well professional and have good diagnoses there did. Well maintained premises. Huge parking is availed at the nearby site. They maintain covid protocols strictly. This Hospital crowd indicates their service quality. This Hospital is maybe a little bit expensive but, according to the services and facilities, it's affordable and valuable. Every staff provide extra care to their customers. Good experience.

Well it was not that bad experience with this hospital the doctors was much better and experienced , but it was felt like they where keeps us waiting for long at the counter and all that’s the issue which used to face …. It just on the Sea-Port Airport Road in Kakkanad area. Dr. Aby Koshy is very famous and experienced doctor with high ethical value in the hospital. He is an IVF specialist. He never recommends unnecessary tests and surgery. I have not experienced other doctors and services of the hospital. There is 50% corporate discount for BPCL employees. The consultancy fees is also meager.

First of all I am very grateful for accepting the Ayushman Bharat scheme. While rest of the hospitals do not accept any kind of Ayushman Bharat or related insurance scheme facilities, Sunrise Hospital was a great help. It is a calm and friendly atmosphere with very good service and highly qualified staff. Even the ward rooms were well maintained and peaceful. A few points I would like to highlight are, to improve the parking facility. Then, please make sure all the amenities accept at least some form of digital payment. The canteen below (near the main entrance) accepts "Only Cash" and I had to walk 2 floors to bring physical money. And lastly, please don't force the patients to give a 5 star rating on Google (Your staff leering at my phone to make sure I gave 5 stars on Google reviews was not a pleasant experience). This is not a good practice. Your services are good and the staff is nice. Other than a few minor issues to be rectified, everything else is fine.

I am writing this review by sitting at this hospital itself. Recently we had a surgery for my mother at this hospital, 3-4 major procedures has been done and stayed at hospital for 5 days (AC Room) as well. Frankly speaking the doctors are good and much appreciate it , however having one or two good doctors alone will not make a hospital good. The staffs are not at all good, most of them don’t even know anything at all , even they don’t know how to make a bill or where the doctor is sitting. The charges are taken for everything even if we are consulting doctor for review after surgery need to pay 500/- for consultation and have to wait for 2-3 hours to consult doctor and the patient who has done this major procedure need to sit outside in the chair waiting this long. Sometimes the patient need to stand outside, today they told to take some scan and the patient was standing outside the lab for 1.5 hours , there is not even a space to sit for patient. Truly disappointed with the service provided here , the only positive thing in this hospital is having a few good doctors. Even the AC Rooms are not clean and the staffs don’t even change the bedsheets as well, we have complained to the persons who came to room for taking review, we dont even know why they came to take review, there was no response after that . They haven’t filled the water can and we were not having water to be filled and we were buying from outside. VERY POOR AND DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE FROM STAFFS . 😑

I had an issue with my ear. Consulted ENT, they were pretty quick with the checkup. Happy with the medicine recommended as well. I went via 2-wheeler and parking a 2-wheeler seemed a problem. Hospital has only 4-wheeler parking and for 2-wheeler, I had to roam quite a lot to finally park it by the roadside.

This is not a hospital, it's a robbery. This hospital is thinking about how to rob people of money. I was admitted with a fever last month and a test there confirmed that I was Kovid. I was told by a medical insurer that I could not get insurance (The response was that the insurance company had rejected my claim)as I was a Kovid and was charged Rs. 22800 / -.After that, when I checked the bill, I saw that the charge of 5 ppe kit was charged from my hand which used only one ppe kit.It's better to stop the hospital and go down the road and rob people than to hurt the patients who come there. I have to tell those who read this that if you are going here you need to go with the basis of the house. Or they may even hit your kidneys. So beware from this hospital...

I am from UAE, mother 84 year old is alone in Kochi, kerala. She has severe osteoporosis, with about 5 fractures to date in the same leg. Early August the knee slightly got twisted, from then on she has been on bed rest. Finally on 23 september she could'nt bear the pain( because of pandemic she has been confined). I got address of Sunrise hospital from a colleague. I wrote them a mail asking for assistance. Within less than half an hour Ms. Parveen Hafees replied back. She sent her whats App no. as well. From then on everything was a smooth sail.Ms Swapna from reception called, co ordinated the whole journey. Dr.Tasyoh Thambi & Sr. Shiji Raju came home on 24th Morning. Doctor and nurse were absolutely fabulous. They ensured mothers booking with Dr Biju Nair Ortho for afternoon as well. Mother was alone with our housekeeper. The hospital staff went out of their way and ensured every thing went well. Customer service was par excellence. The visit with Dr Biju went very well. The doctor made mother feel very comfortable, was very patient with her, answered all our queries. Thank you all. May you keep up your good service and help humanity for ever!

Seems like they are improving their service.heared some bad incidents happened couple of years back. I had a chance to get vaccinated from office with collaboration of sunrise hospital. And I can say their staffs and nurses are well mannered well explained about the side effects post vaccination and the precautions that we need to take. The second dose has successfully completed. My first dose was taken from different hospital and I was not satisfied enough by their service.

I came to Sunrise hospital, for my second dose of COVID 19 vaccination, and the procedure was really smooth. On Google you can find their website, and book a slot at the time and date of preference. Once in the hospital, the billing and form filling is really fast, and no confusions, the staff is well placed and we'll mannered, and they give options of payments also. The vaccine was given well and without any pain, the nurse was good at giving the vaccine. Overall it was a good experience.

Very friendly staff and doctors. I was guided through all steps of admission and discharge by very helpful assistants. You can’t compare hygiene with European standards, but everybody is very willing and do their best. The very best is the catering, I enjoyed ever meal I ordered.

Everything went smooth,but pharmacy. The people before and after me got the service and they never gave me a token or called. When I approached the window thet asked me wheather I paid or not. They never asked the payment. Still I got waited and finally they accepted the payment and asked to wait again. It was totally frustrating.

Dear middle class people I was expecting a class service from Sunrise Hospital. But! Worst experience. I visited the hospital just for a medical certificate which is required for a job. I have waited for nearly 2hrs just for this. The consultation fees is comparatively high for general medicine which is compared to near by private hospitals. I don't understand why they charged INR.50 as nurse charge where I didn't get any assistance from the staff. Sunrise Hospital is positioned in a premium category by services are below average.

Good doctors. waiting time is slightly on higher side for good doctors . Good treatment . Slightly expensive . LAb results take time

I visited this hospital on 14 sept, 21 for a laproscopic surgery of my elder sister under Dr. Hafeez Rahaman. Dr. Rahaman is very eminent laproscopic surgeon and he also holds a guinness world record . Staffs & Nurses behaviour was also very polite. Just they need to be more clear about their packages. Overall happy with their survice..

I got my covid vaccination today from Sunrise Hospital, Kakkanad. It was a well organized and smooth process. Waiting time was around 5 to 10 min max. The staff was friendly. Place was thankfully not crowded.

I had been here for my covid vaccination. It was smooth and systematic. Staffs were friendly and caring and the premises were kept clean and tidy.

It was a good experience may be they can add more sanitizer points near the lifts which will be better considering the present scenario. Staffs were good and informative. Only con is the Parking lot which is very minimal and I hope the mgmt will look at it.

I filled the online form and received an acknowledgement mail. A staff contacted me and provided me an appointment. When I reached the hospital there was no parking provision and security asked me to drop my two years old kid in emergency section and park car in next building.I denied leaving my kid alone because the appointment was for me I parked my car in the next building and came to reception and was asked to fill the form and start from square one. I really didn't understand why did I filled the form online and uploaded the details online if I have to stand in the crowd in the covid situation carrying my kid. Above all the staff in the counter has no idea what their website says or does. There was no social distancing and people were crowding at the registration counter. I left the scene for a better experience . There's a lot chance for being affected with COVID if they don't properly manage the crowd at various points.

I had been here for my covid vaccination. Everything was very systematic. Staff were friendly. The premises very neat and hygienic.

Please do not go here unless you want to burn a hole in your pocket, ensure you validate and double cross & check each and every tests they prescribe here to ensure if its actually required or not to avoid being taken for a ride, god knows what else they do healthcare has become a business. No crowd management or any safety measures taken, which is a serious concern esp after this hospital being a covid care center. Better to visit Thrikkakara cooperative hospital which is 500-800m away for cheap and better treatment.

I took my covid vaccination from Sunrise. It was really a seamless and trouble free experience. The staff was knowledgeable and caring. Would recommend to all.

Took second dose covid 19 vaccine for myself and wife from sunrise hospital . All the procedures were really smooth and the staffs were well behaved.

My dad has covid and when we went to the hospital all they did was give tablets and sent him home. There wasn't a doctor who attended to him. When we called after 3-4 days, they did not give a proper response. I do not recommend this hospital for covid treatment.

I was admitted in sunrise covid quarantine centre. The care and support given by hospital team is incredible. They are treating each one with appreciable responsibility. Thank you team for helping me to survive tough covid days.

Very bad staff attitude. Came here for an emergency and still waiting for the last 1.5 hours. My experience with this hospital before 8 years was the same. Today I could see the PRO standing right front of the main door and arguing with the staff. I could see one mother of new born begging to get a copy of their medical records. What I felt is, they should learn customer management from the big hospital like Aster. They are openly discussing staff matters in front of the customer. PRO should at least know how to hide your internal matters from the public. Another thing is the attitude at covid 19 desk. The staff is not even wearing any protective equipment. Only sample collection staff have PPE kit. In the billing section, patients are directly dealing. If I rate the attitude of staff at this desk it will be -10 (minus 10) out of 50.

I done my second vaccination here it is a good hospital .for vaccination the staff and arrangement is very safe and under covid protocol. Overall its a good experience. Thank you

Good facilities and features... Experienced doctors with advanced treatment... I have been visited for my father's bypass surgery and it was done by Dr. Khuldeep Chulliparambil... The after care was very good... Surgery was fully covered by PM Jay Insurance Scheme in this hospital... Thanks a lot...🙏🙏🙏 But the canteen is terrible... The rate is 2 or 3 times higher than outside restaurant foods...

Covid vaccination process was hassle-free in sunrise hospital. The staff are courteous and explained the details of vaccination process and after effects clearly. Highly recommending for vaccination and the professional attitude of staffs will make your comfortable.

Got my second vaccine dose from here just now.We had to wait for about an hour at the line for along with people who had come for covid testing for registration and billing and that does not seem like a good idea.I would suggest a different service point for people who have come to take vaccine. Efficient staff and good service otherwise.

Experience was good , but only issue i faced was the long wait for the billing to be done. Office administration should take appropriate action for reducing the the wait time for billing to be done. Otherwise , staff was very co-operative

Overall experience was good. However, it was crowded in the ground floor billing section with people who came for all different purposes including those who came to test their Covid positivity. Covid related patients should be completely isolated else chance of spreading seems to be more the way it is handled now.

My experience today was totally different. Not because there was personalized attention but because I was given the respect that a patient deserves. I noticed that the staff is generally polite and knows how to treat people with kindness and attention, and this is not basis how they treated me today, but generally I saw that with other patients. The cultural change, though will take time, can be made with everyone contributing their part. Thank you.

They arrange helpful facilities like wheelchairs for the patients is very appreciable. All billing staff and Pharmacy staff are very well mannered. Nursing staffs are also well-mannered and professional. All doctors are well professional and have good diagnoses there did. Well maintained premises. Huge parking is availed at the nearby site. They maintain covid protocols strictly. This Hospital crowd indicates their service quality. This Hospital is maybe a little bit expensive but, according to the services and facilities, it's affordable and valuable. Every staff provide extra care to their customers. Good experience.

The service levels of the teams manning most stations is very poor. Nobody is able to provide the right directions to what you ask and you end up walking around the hospital building many times. Something as simple as mailing a lab result to my registered email id does not happen and I have needed to visit this place again just to collect my results. Will not be visiting this place again

Very well satisfied with the hospital staffs and other services offered. Reception staffs are very pleasant and appointments are done without delay in time. Further guest relations staffs are very helpful and they even gave the right guidance right from the start to end.

I had a disappointing experience with this hospital's online consultation service. Initially, they quoted a consultation fee, which seemed reasonable. However, when they discovered I was calling from abroad, they suddenly demanded an unjustified fee. Online consultations should not be affected by a patient's location. The hospital failed to provide a valid reason for the extra charge. Patients deserve fair treatment, regardless of where they are.

The causality doctors at Sunrise Hospital are not very experienced—I think they only hold an MBBS degree—and they don't know how to treat patients appropriately. They will take too much money if a diagnosis is made without doing a proper examination. Due to a fever, I consulted trice Causality(For my Dad's Fever), but they are still unable to pinpoint the precise ailment. However, it wasn't until I went to the Cooperative Hospital that they correctly diagnosed the illness and prescribed medication. I'm giving the causality doctors a one-star rating and asking management to add a few more experienced doctors—those with an MD and everything—to the causality. I'm grateful.

Everyone on nursing duty at 3rd floor was very well behaved and very caring from admission to discharge they were truly angels on earth. Special thanks to Dr Gregory Sir and everyone who helped with the surgery. But the room facilities are all very poor.
