One of the worst hostel experiences I have had, coming from a person who has stayed in multiple hostel accommodations before. The warden has shown irresponsible and indecent behavior in multiple instances. The electricity in our room was shut off due to a trip in the circuit board. This took place at about 10 pm, and after waiting for about 15 minutes, I called the warden. In our telephone conversation, I explained the multiple reasons why we needed our electricity back, mainly due to the fact that I was sick and had just returned from work and hadn’t yet taken a shower - it would not have been possible due to the lack of light and heater Also because it would be simply dangerous not to have access to light during the night I requested her to send the security guard to check the switchboard or to allow us to stay in the guest room next door which was vacant. Without allowing me to explain my circumstance thoroughly, she denied both requests after which she cut the phone in the middle of the conversation. After witnessing this crass and inhumane behavior, I had no resort but to ask my parents to speak with her. They too were disappointed with the lack of empathy and indecency shown by the warden. After multiple back and forth calls, she finally sent the security who resolved the issue in a matter of 5 minutes. This is one of the multiple unpleasant interactions I’ve encountered with the warden. During our initial days in the hostel, we had ordered food which got delivered after 9:00pm as we were unaware of the stringent rules. However, our circumstances were such that we were in dire need for food as we hadn’t eaten since morning due to our working hours which are from 8:30am to 8:30pm. Once we had ordered food which took longer than expected to deliver. Firstly, there were no security guards present at the gate which is unsafe considering both the doors of the Office Block building where we reside are shut during the night. This itself is violative of the Minimum Fire Safety Guidelines for Residential and Institutional buildings put forth by the government of India. We called the warden to inform the security guards to receive the food packet, which was immediately shut down by her as she said, “the security guards are sleeping, you will get your food tomorrow morning”, in a demeaning tone. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO PLACE OUR TRUST IN THE SAFETY OF THIS GIRL'S HOSTEL IF THE SECURITY THEMSELVES ARE SLEEPING AT NIGHT? In addition to the fact that all doors are locked from the outside! Explaining our situation was pointless because she cut the phone call in the middle of the conversation and she refused to pick up my calls after the first conversation. To add to the plethora of complaints, we were told our rooms will be cleaned every three days and our sheets will be changed too. However, we’ve been residing in the hostel for 3 weeks now and not once have they changed our sheets. We are paying an exorbitant amount of ₹22,500/- per person for our stay, only for us to receive substandard living facilities and disregard from the warden. For an institution which prides itself for their quality and safety, this is highly saddening to see the poor management it is currently under. I would like to make it clear that all the staff including the kitchen staff, have been extremely polite and kind however, the same cannot be said for the warden.

The best hostel in Kochi hands down. I have stayed and checked out several women hostels in Kochi however nothing is as good and as well maintained as YWCA. There are many activities being organised, programs conducted and picnics carried out in YWCA. Food is the best you could get among other hostels. Washing machine, parking facility and iron box facility is available. Secutity guards are appointed. Rooms are frequently cleaned by the cleaning staff. Wardens are friendly, but strict. Prayer hall is available.

Reasonably good ladies hostel. Neat and spacious rooms and surroundings. Curfew is 7 30 for students and 8 30 for working women. Easily accessible via all forms of transport.

I stayed here for 3 years (college studies). One of the best hostels you could find in the heart of the city. There are rooms that are single, double etc and also dormitories. They also have guest rooms which you can book if you wish to stay less than a month.Washing & ironing facility available.Clean water.Free from road noise.Overall good experience.

Setting an example is part of an establishment's responsibility towards the community and the city's businesses. 100 points for putting out drinking water for the public especially during this heatwave Summer. I sat and watched how appreciative the commuters on chittor road were of this kindness by Ywca. They have a bunch very polite security guards and the place looks clean. I hope people around the hood watch and learn something new from them.

I visited to stay for 2 days. I have been trying to contact them continuously. Since I went on Sunday, I didn't get admission there as office and was closed. Anyways the ambience of this place is very good.

For a short stay at Kochi the place is good. But don’t except a hotel room. It is a budget friendly rest for short stopover.
