Lovely little restaurant in the heart of Cancelada! The owner is really lovely and very attentive. We ordered the Chorizo, Lamb chops and Lasagna- all of it was really tasty! 6 large Lamb chops for €14 in a restaurant is good value in my eyes! Highly recommend this restaurant!

There is a reason people catch a plane to eat out in Spain, its worth the trip... and this restaurant is case in point. Beautiful homemade local food lovingly prepared and served. It's a very good restaurant period.

A rainy Sunday, our first full day staying in the area, & supermarkets closed. We needed a proper Spanish meal. We looked at reviews for lots of local restaurants & decided to take a punt on this place as a lot of the reviews mentioned the freshness & authenticity of the food. We were not disappointed. We arrived not long after opening so we we’re probably their first customers of the evening. The welcome & service was top notch. The food even better. We ordered some tapas dishes, which were chorizo sausage, & pil pil (garlic prawns), both of which were superb. Make sure you order a side of bread & butter to soak up all the lovely sauce. We also ordered mozzarella & tomato salad, a mixed salad, & seafood paella. Again all fantastic. The paella is next level, seasoned well, full of seafood, absolutely delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area if you want real authentic Spanish food. It’s not cheap, but with other restaurants in the area serving up microwaved frozen rubbish for similar prices, it’s a no brainier to visit Bodeguita Santa Maria.

Great little restaurant. The food was great. the service was great. They had run out of a dish we wanted, so the chef came out, apologized, and treated us with something different.

This is such a lovely spot to eat some delicious food! Authentic Spanish dishes served with efficient but unrushed service. Sitting outside in the historic centre of Cancelada, this felt like a real treat. We had between 5 of us, tapas, paella and some lovely drinks. The puddings were also wonderful. Cannot wait to make a repeat visit. Faultless and a fair price for great food.

We were a group of 12 with no reservation and they were extremely accommodating. Wonderful authentic meal in a charming setting. The best seafood paella!! The peppers were delicious as an appetizer. So was the blood pudding. Grilled sole was also delicious. The owner was a great host and made you feel like you were in his home.

A restaurant with an atmosphere of joy, especially when you sit outside. Very taste and original food. Definitely I’m going to be back.

This is a real gem. All the tables are set in a hidden narrow street in a very cozy and relax way. The dishes were all amazing and as for the service it felt like we had known the waitresses for years. And the cherry on the cake, it was particularly affordable. I sincerely cannot recommend this place enough!

Terrific! Terrific food. Terrific service. Terrific authentic small Spanish village ambience. I discovered this charming Bodeguita some years ago. I've moved a little distance away from Cancelada, but I still go back just to eat at Bodeguita Santa Maria. We ate there three nights ago, and even with the covid lockdown and the reinstated curfew, we had the dinner of a lifetime. Again.

Fantastic service and amazing food

We discovered this little gem when we were wandering around Cancelada. A lovely little restaurant with a row of tables in a quaint Spanish street. The food and service were both excellent and great value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

We traveled past Cancelada at lunchtime today. We have been here before but not eaten here. Today we found found Bodeguita Santa Maria. What an incredibly charming place. She who served us was so sweet and nice and made us feel welcome. We ordered some smaller dishes. These were incredibly good and made with love. We would recommend Bodeguita Santa Maria to everyone and we will be back soon, then with good friends.

What a great hidden gem. The good was fantastic and so was the ambience. We ordered the Pil Pil, a couple saladas amd the seafood Paella. The owner was very attentive and super sweet. Highly this place and we will definitely be back.

Had dinner there last night on a recommendation. Food was delicious, however service was extremely poor. Don’t get me wrong, the staff were all lovely but run off there feet. When our mains arrived there was some minutes between each (4) of us receiving it. My sister did not get her gratin potatoes. When we asked the waiter he said he would see to that. After she had finished her main we asked not to be billed for the potatoes, as they had never arrived. The waiter apologised and said that he had been thrown out of the kitchen when he had asked for them?? We asked for another bottle of wine, it never appeared. When we asked again, the waiter said that the one we had asked for was finished and he forgot to tell us. We would have had a sweet, but to be honest we were pretty fed up by the end.

Wonderful people, wonderful place, lovely food, wish we had found it at the start of our holiday, highly recommended!!

Tasty Mediterranean style food, a bit on the pricy side though, but quality is good. Friendly service. Good atmosphere, nicely dimmed lighting.

Surprisingly well cooked and presented food for such a hidden gem.Fully recommended.
