Very nice view and warm welcome from hotel. Free parking and good breakfast to your room every morning. Just 10 minutes walking to town and many good restaurants.

I was wrong when I made a reservation for this place on booking because it says hotel and this is a bed & breakfast place. When we arrived we were received by a super rude person that came later to apologize because she was super stressed with some event - anyway after this episode the room didn’t live up to expectation. The bed was super uncomfortable we were basically sleeping in the middle because it had a V shape. There’s a lot of noise made by a small fridge that was installed in the room. There’s no central heating although it has electric heater and salamander and a weird smell of burnt wood. The window in the bathroom didn’t close properly which made taking a shower there similar if we were doing camping. My partner got all is body bitten by mosquitoes in the middle of winter. The breakfast was very basic and it reminded me of a Riad in Marrakech. Not coming back again for sure.

This place is an EMBARRASSMENT for the catfish photos they post trying to promote their environment. My partner and I came to Portugal to spend our anniversary and I ordered the “romance package”…literally what turned out to be a cheap wine and chocolates you could pick up at a gas station. In the pictures, this package looked decadent with the bon bons and champagne flutes, but the stuff they provided was literally extremely embarrassing. As far as the room, the bed and sheets were damp and a strong odor of mildew swept the entire room. We could not stay there for longer than an hour because of how uneasy the energy of the room was. MANAGEMENT KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM. How? Well there’s a defective air freshener on top of the bed and a dusty dehumidifier in the corner that just takes up space in what is already a tiny room. For $100+ a night? What a SCAM. More about the room? Well, we were not informed the room would be a jack and Jill bathroom situation which makes people feel vulnerable, especially my partner and I who are both female. The bathroom looked like the toilet paper was the only thing changed as it had the appearance of my grandmother’s worn bathroom. The site says that this place is walking distance to the city center. This place isn’t even wheel chair accessible, what audacity do they have to say it is walking distance? It is up on a secluded hill that makes it feel not romantic, but eerie and isolating. To the owner who will probably respond, STOP BEING PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE AND DEFENSIVE OVER EVERY VALID CRITICISM. You do not know how to take constructive feedback and apply it and it shows. You would not even refund me for a night when I just spent an hour in the room trying to adjust and get down all the stairs. Let people share their experiences without being met with defensiveness. Instead, either take the feedback and change the experience of staying there or…LOWER THE PRICES.

Beware when booking that the photographs they provide are extremely deceiving. The view from the property is nice but the actual grounds are poorly maintained. The room itself was hostel like and uncomfortable to be in. There was no mention that it was essentially a jack and Jill room with a shared entrance to the other room, posing a security risk for me and my travel companion as two young women. Worst of all, upon entering our room, there was a sharp smell of mildew or mold. We tried to stay for an hour to see if we would get accustomed to the smell, but it was unbearable and gave me a headache, so we decided to leave. The presence of plug in air fresheners and an old dehumidifier, to me, shows that the owners/managers are aware that there is an issue with smell but still choose to put customers in the room. I don’t think that’s acceptable, especially considering their attempts at masking the bad smell did not work. The owner offered to place us in another room, but because of all the issues I mentioned, which go beyond the condition of the room and reflect the general standards of the hotel, we declined. Declining their “upgrade” offer seemed to offend the owner, so she refused to refund us for our stay because we “used” the room for 1 hour, in an attempt to tough it out and see if we would get used to the smell. We bit the bullet, and got another hotel. I was not going to stay in a room that caused a headache because the smell was so bothersome, and ruin my vacation.

We had a very pleasant 5 night vacation at Casa do Valle. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided us with lots of useful information on the best places to visit and how to get around. The Garden room apartment was comfortable and it was really nice to have breakfast in our room rather than having to troop down to a restaurant area every morning. The Weather was not very nice on the week we visited, so we did not use the pool or gardens, but there were nice facilities to relax in had we chose to do so.

This accommodation offered wonderful views on the patio outside of our room where we enjoyed their great breakfast. It is very quiet and the views of the valley were phenomenal. The most valuable asset of this hotel is the resourcefulness, passion and knowledge of Virpi who provided us with maps and directions on the less charted but more scenic paths to get to the castles.

Honestly the most wonderful hotel. Could not rate in highly enough. Excellent value for money. Most beautiful setting of lush trees and flowers, with views to die for. Casa do Valle is so well equipped, there is a great pool, a kitchen to use, you can order light snacks and drinks at good prices, nothing is too much trouble. Great location and you can park easily. Already booked my next trip.

Gorgeous views, friendly and always accommodating staff with so much knowledge of the area. There's a pool area for the summer and a beautiful deck where you can see all the castles of Sintra. Loved every second of my stay.

A true paradise! We stayed at Casa do Valle for our wedding with friends and family and it was INCREDIBLE! Everyone wanted to stay there forever. The house is comfortable and cute. The views were stunning! Fresh fruit from the garden every day, perfect location near downtown Sintra, pool with a view. What more can you ask for? Well in addition to that the hosts are absolutely wonderful. Everyone was helpful beyond belief. We had a few thigs go completely wrong with the wedding last minute and the ladies from Casa do Valle stepped in and fixed everything even though they didn't have to! They basically became our wedding planners and arranged a rehearsal dinner, transportation for our guests, paperwork. Everything I could have asked for and way more! My gratitude for them is endless and I just can't wait to come back! I work in luxury hotels for the last 12 years and the service you receive at Casa do Valle tops any 5 star 5 diamond hotel!!! If you ever have a chance stay at casa do valle and experience true paradise! <3

Very nice location outside the most touristic and hectic area. Beautiful view, nice room and breakfast and helpful staff.

Gracious staff, very nice room, clean, great views. My one caveat: take a taxi or rideshare from the train station. It's not terribly far to walk, but the road goes up and down hills; it's narrow and twisting, and there's often no sidewalk. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

We had a very strange experience at check-in. at the time of booking we were told that late check-in was 20 euro. However, in the meantime the hotel policy had changed and now it’s 20 euro between 18:00-21:00 and between 21:00-00:00 it’s 30 euro. When the owner told us to pay 30 euro I showed her the message (there was both an auto-generated message and a confirmation from an employee, I showed her the latter) that we had agreed 20 at the time of booking. she then said; “Okay then you pay 20 euro and my staff member will pay the other 10”. What?!?! who does that, making a staff member pay for what she said was a mistake but was obviously just a change in policy! I then told her that I didn’t want that and then rather pay the 30 euros myself, half expecting she’d let it slide, but she did not. For the life of me I cannot understand why you would throw your own staff under the bus like that. Not really a class-act. What is more, the photos are a bit misleading (for example we did not have a fireplace in the room), the fridge made a lot of noise (had to get up in the middle of the night to unplug because we couldn’t sleep otherwise), the kettle only worked if you kept pushing the button yourself and the door to the bathroom didn’t properly close. All in all it seems like this relatively new owner is letting this place decay slowly, which is too bad because the setting itself has a lot of potential. Location is good.
