Tasty meal. The owner of the restaurant is quite nice. However though: they need a hand wash stand somewhere within the main floor so people aren’t going to the basement to wash their hands before and after a meal.

Delicious food, friendly service, 2000s r&b playlist all night which was our jam. One person on our table was their first time and staff happily demonstrated and hand fed them 🥹🥰

African palace was a great nurturing experience. I was with a friend so we ordered a veggie combo for two. The food came quickly, it was warm served on a huge plate with fluffy gluten free bread. The spice levels was moderate, adding a bit of hotness to the dish which tingled my taste buds in a good way. The plate was full of different types of stews that can be eaten with the bread offered. Once you get to the bottom of the plate, you discover the bottom bread loaf soaked in the tasty sauces, and it just gets more mouth watering delicious. It was satisfying and surprisingly light on the stomach. The space was sensorially friendly. Music was not loud, the lighting was warm and comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly. Highly recommend this place

First time eating at an African restaurant and the owner was incredibly hospitable and friendly. It really seemed like you were stepping into her home.

Food was fantastic! So flavourful and filling. It doesn't look like it would be filling but it really is. I have a very heavy accent so there was a slight issue with ordering gluten free but it was fixed straight away. Would absolutely eat here again!

The food was absolutely delicious and the server was wonderful. She gave explanations of the dishes, recommendations, and even fed me. Loved the cultural authenticity. 100% would recommend and return.

Super cute Ethiopian Resturant. They have vegan & gluten free options. The food is delicious, although you eat with your hands. The coffee ceremony is a MUST if you like coffee. Great service and friendly staff.

Our first time dining in a restaurant since the beginning of the pandemic was a great experience. The staff here was so friendly (and sweet with our 2 year-old) and the food was delicious. We all really enjoyed it. We have been missing the homey feel of family run restaurants and are happy to have found this spot in the west end. We will definitely be back!

Food was very traditional Ethiopian which we like. The food is excellent and not too spicy. Will be definitely coming back. Staff were fantastic as well. Friendly and fabulous. Loved it!

If you are into spicy foods, and you are ok to try eating them with hands only, then African Palace is a great choice for you! It is not just delicious but a fun experience to have. I liked the taste. I liked the place, it was cozy. A bit dark. I would say some people like to eat in some lighter places. Again, as I said so, it’s a unique experience. BTW don’ forget to try their samosas.

Walking down bloor street after a concert with my husband and stopped here to eat. Did not disappoint for both my husband and I. I'm a pescaterian and my husband eats meat and we both were able to find food on the menu. It was flavorful and filling! Would definitely go again!

The food was delicious and the place is very cozy but what really made the difference for me is the owner. She is a beautiful woman, she made sure that we had what we needed, she took the time to show us how to eat the food (literally fed us!) and last but not least, we really enjoyed the coffee ceremony. I will always remember it. THANK YOU 💖

What a great experience—more than just an amazing Ethiopian meal, it felt like we were invited into a friend’s home. The food is flavourful and fresh with great vegetarian/vegan options. The traditional coffee ceremony is special.

We keep coming back! Super friendly staff and delicious food. We usually get the veggie platter. The spinach on there is sooooo good..

The food here is on point. One of the staff members showed us how to properly eat the injera. Go here!

Amazing food, amazing service and fantastic atmosphere. It was our first time at this little gem of a restaurant and we were delighted. The platters were so tasty and the coffee service superb. Mary, our host, made my birthday wonderful and made me feel great. We will be back for sure with more friends and family. Well done!

This is the most lovely cosy restaurant in Toronto. The food is delicious, and the hosts there are extremely welcoming, funny, and immediately make you feel as if you're with friends. I'll definitely be coming back.

Overpriced for what it is, portion sizes weren't up to par, and service was a bit shaky at times. The flavours weren't bad though, but the quality of the meat could've been better. The salad they served us was literally spring mix you can get from a grocery store. If you want to try Ethiopian food at a convenient location, it's an OK place to go to.

I've been coming here for at least 15 years... A first glance the decor is basic, like and other restaurant really but the food is phenomenal and the vibes are on point. It felt like we were being welcomed into someone's home. The server was patient with us and even gave us a cultural experience of feeding one another. Thank you for sharing, we love it!
