What a fantastic experience! The diner-look is brilliant. I love sitting at the counter and eating my breakfast while watching the chefs cook their scrumptious food. I highly recommend this place. A true gem in the heart of downtown Toronto!

If you're looking for a diner with a pretty good all-day breakfast menu and some phenomenal food, Avenue Open Kitchen is your spot. I've gone back a few of times and will definitely go back again. We've had their Grilled Cheese (comes with crispy bacon), their Club Sandwich, Home Fries, Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich, Chicken Souvlaki on a Pita and their Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine. They also offer you complimentary coffee with breakfast. Everything has been delicious and their team/staff are great! Service, hospitality and friendliness are all wonderful.

Went here 3 days in a row. Breakfast is fantastic. Old classic diner. You can't go wrong with the Montreal smoked meat with eggs. Or the western omelette. You also get unlimited drip coffee.

I have been to many fancy restaurants in toronto, but the best place is here I think. The foods are delicious and the owner is really kind. I think I can go here everyday morning before I go to work. The food is not that expensive and it's actually delicious. I miss this place.

Stopped in here in a Thursday morning for breakfast and so glad we did! It’s a small hole in the wall but what a gem! This is a classic city diner! The sugar pourer and mismatched salt and pepper shakers are so nostalgic and typical of a small diner. The open kitchen is legit!! We sat at the counter (there were no empty seats, a great sign)! The server was super nice and attentive! I ordered the cheese omelet and home fries with rye toast. I asked for the home fries to be well done but that was not really in the cards since the flat top grill was constantly in use and the home fries are legit potatoes with no oil so they’d have to cook for so long! The cook explained it to me after and i appreciated that he doesn’t add anything to them. The omelet was good, exactly what you’d hope for at a diner. My mom loved her BEC on rye! The coffee is ground fresh on site and was good. The prices are reasonable and you can really feel the love from these guys!

Walking up to this place just reminds you of a classic mom-and-pop greasy spoon joint serving up homemade style breakfasts. Service was fast and friendly and the food itself was cooked well and tastes pretty good. The only let down for me was the fact they didn’t really have any “hungry man” or “lumberjack” breakfast options where you get multiple meats or other food from the standard bacon and eggs. I could have added it a-la carte but that would have pushed up a breakfast to $25-30 which just seems too much. The portion was decent but nothing special for the price. The lunch items look good and more in line with what I would expect to pay elsewhere so will probably try one next time but if looking for a cheap classic breakfast will seek out other options.

Family run business. Their menu has a lot of options and they have all day breakfast. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. The quality and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and you get to support small businesses.

Great little diner. Seating is limited so get there early if you want a booth. Steak and eggs was great, and the coffee was good. Will come here again for that breakfast hit.

Value for Money, Fast service, Good portion, tasty and my eggs were cooked just the way I asked it to be. Me and my girl had a really nice time. Good quality breakfast at a cheap rate, DOWNTOWN. you cant really ask for more. The counter seats could be a little uncomfortable/cramped up for a pleasantly plump guy like me who is used to having atleast 2 food plates in front of him. So Id wait for a table next time, just to be considerate enough for the person sitting besides me. But overall, service 10/10. Food 10/10. Good food and good service leads to a great experience. We are definitely coming back.

We got 2 montreal smoked meat sandwiches and coffee to go. The sandwiches were delicious, the service was friendly and they got everything ready pretty quickly. There are some dining spots inside and they were all packed at 9am on a weekday. We’ll be back to try out other items on the menu!

Avenue Open Kitchen is a gem of a diner, exuding charm and warmth from the moment you step inside. From the inviting ambiance to the friendly staff, every visit feels like coming home. The menu boasts a delightful array of breakfast classics, but it's the eggs and bacon that steal the show every time. Cooked to perfection, each bite is a symphony of flavor that leaves you craving more. What truly sets this establishment apart is not just the exceptional food, but also the impeccable service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. With its unbeatable combination of incredible food, top-notch service, and cozy vibe, Avenue Open Kitchen never fails to exceed expectations. A five-star experience that keeps me coming back for more.

Great place, down to earth. Really friendly owners and just a pleasant place to drink coffee and eat a big breakfast. Nothing fancy - that’s why I come here.

If you are looking for solid breakfast food. I’d say this is the place to go. Though I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here. It’s a greasy spoon diner with no-frills. If you happen to be in the area or live near here, it’s a perfect place. In terms of price, I think they are fair especially with everything getting so expensive nowadays. Obviously what I’ve ordered I can easily replicate at home though don’t often want to make that effort.

My favourite and probably the only consistently good breakfest in the city! This is the only diner anywhere near us and by far my faaavourite breakfast. The staff are also so nice and funny and the food is always the best and the price is pretty great for being downtown!

Fantastic breakfast spot with fantastic people that work there! As soon as i walked in I was greeted and sat. Out came out the menu with a cup of coffee and a cup of water shorty after. My breakfast was the sausage and egg breakfast which comes with three eggs done anyway you like, four sausages, potatoes and a couple pieces of toast. Its alot of food for $13.99 and that included the cup of coffee! Highly recommend this place if you're in Toronto.

Discovered this place on a whim and loved it. Unpretentious spot with great breakfast/brunch items at reasonable prices. Really enjoyed the simplicity of the diner-esque decor. The eggs and peameal bacon dish was great. Would recommend for quick in-and-out bites or for small groups.

Holy Kamoly Batman!! This pastrami-stacked masterpiece on rye is so perfectly crafted, it hits hard on flavor and the touch of Dijon mustard is a perfect note, leaving your taste buds applauding for an encore. Also quite filling! Thank you so much!

Great tasting omelette, a big serving. Very affordable. Also has outdoor dining and a very nice indoor dining area. The staff are quick, efficient and friendly. When I'm in Toronto next time I know where I'm going for breakfast/lunch.

We were looking for a good place to eat breakfast just after patios were allowed to open again in Toronto, and found this place after walking for a bit. It was an excellent late breakfast! The service was prompt, friendly, and good. The tables were clean and well spaced. There was a good amount of variety on the menu, and we each found something we loved. I had the breakfast club sandwich, and thank goodness I declined any potatoes, as it was huge, and yummy! The coffee was good, and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this eatery! >^..^<

Tasty, reliable diner type breakfast food. Fairly priced and nice staff. It’s warm inside the restaurant, so the outdoor seating was welcome! Usually short wait time, if any at all. Been here a few times, will keep coming back. No non-dairy milk option though!

If you're looking for a cheap, filling, and tasty brunch spot this place is great. We ordered the greek omelette and the smoked meat which were both really large portions and tasty considering the price.

What a gem this place is ! The food is fantastic and so reasonably priced I was floored. Try the burger - it’s a real char broiled juicy burger that tastes like a burger should. The size of the smoked meat sandwich was impressive and also delicious. Same for the fish n chips - large fish portion with a nice crust and soft tender white fish. I can’t say enough how I love this place 👍

This is one of my favourite breakfast diner in downtown TO! Good food, good portion, good value! My favourites are the Peameal Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwich and the Clubhouse Sandwich 😋 I ordered soup of the day which is Beef Vegetable Soup and that is really really good 👍 such a comfort meal 😌

Best breakfast we had while in Toronto. I had never had peameal bacon before and it was a revelation. The French toast was also out of this world. Highly recommend!!!

Honest food at honest prices. Great place, no nonsense where you rub shoulders with individuals that work in construction to business types to students to eccentrics(like myself). Breakfast is beyond my expectations where good food with generous portions come before pretense. Highly recommended.

Amazing every time. Great little spot, really nice staff, clean and fast. Reuben sandwich or the breakfast sandwich are my go to, but everything looks great. If I lived closer I would go 5x a week. Photos of the Reuben and the avenue club house.

These guys are amazing! The food is fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of spices, sauces on the side. Convenient pre-oder option to avoid line-ups during lunch. Stunningly friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. I think I found a new favorite place for lunch.

Very good, I got the breakfast club. It was a huge portion. Staff are friendly and the service was great. My only issue was some of the potatoes were undercooked. Would have been a 5 otherwise! I’ll definitely return.
