We hadn’t come here for a while and we’re pleased to see they have renovated the restaurant. It was extremely busy. HOWEVER… despite how wonderful the food was, paying at the very end was surprising. You don’t pay at the table, you pay at the cashier. Your bill appears on the screen. There is a 10% gratuity added automatically. Thinking this was too small for the server we asked the cashier if that was the tip for our server. He explained that no, this was a mandatory gratuity for the dishwashers that the management has implemented. I’ve never heard of a restaurant doing this, as most servers will give a portion of their tips to kitchen staff generally. This also meant that you now give 15-20% tip to the server PLUS this additional 10%. The manager was not available but the cashier offered me their card to call them tomorrow. I thought this was shallow, because this was never disclosed at all until the end. No signs or literature posted. The cashier told me it was at the back of the menu, and showed me, it was under “drinks” in smaller font. Again, deceiving and not reasonable, especially because I highly doubt that the dishwashers actually see this money as a tip, but rather as their wages. Sadly, this is Very misleading and unethical for a restaurant to do this. SERVICE: It’s busy, they are short staffed so service is a bit slow. The servers are really nice though and doing their best. Aman was our server and she was great! FOOD: the food was even better than I remember. It was served hot, fresh and so flavourful. Real authentic food! Everything was cooked to perfection. The naan were the best I’ve had anywhere so far. PRICE: Reasonably priced and very good menu choices. BEWARE: there is a non disclosed 10% gratuity for “dishwashers” on your bill. MENU: A huge variety of food ranging from Pakistani, Indian and Asian. Excellent choices available. WASHROOMS: Semi-clean.. no soap at all available to wash your hands. The washroom is modern but was not serviced. Not sure how the staff wash their hands properly with no soap. Women’s washroom was the same according to my wife. OVERALL: I would normally highly recommend it here. It’s a great atmosphere and the food is amazing. However, the sneakiness of adding a gratuity at the end is very shady, and leaves me to never return. This place would have been rated better based on the food quality, but they ruined their reputation by being shady. I recommend making reservations as it is very busy.

I wish I could give them 5 stars. We went for dine-in brunch at this location based on the recommendation from a very good friend. This is one of the best places for meat lovers!!! The quality of food is really really good!!! But then why 3 stars? Here we go - The location of this restaurant is very good, right on the intersection of 2 major roads. Ample parking space due to the plaza. However, it seems that they do not have regular snow cleaning. Not sure about handicapped accessible parking since everything was covered with snow but I am really hoping that there should be at least a couple of spaces since it's part of a plaza. There is NO handicapped accessible entrance and NO handicapped accessible washroom. This is where they lose their 1 star. However, the ambiance is amazing and the washrooms were very clean and smelled good. Please all the pictures posted and I am sure you would love to go for dine-in. We also like how they had all the cutlery right next to you so that they do not have to worry about asking and we do not have to wait. Just grab what you need. They had 1 high chair for children so if you have more than 1 kid then it is better to call and confirm before you show up. The dine-in starts with their salad and 2 sauces. We really liked both of them. Neither too sweet nor too spicy which is perfect!!! The food was the best part of our experience. We had 1 soup,1 starter, 1 main main course entry and 1 Briyani. All of them amazing!! The quality of the chicken and paneer was really good. The taste was well blended and not too spicy which we asked for. The Briyani was the star dish since it was not dry at all and the rich flavors just exploded as soon as we ate it!!! The paneer was really good as well. The soup and starter met the expectations. The quantity of all the items was really nice, we brought 2 containers of food home with us. This also justifies their price which may look a bit on the heavy side. The serving time was reasonable neither super quick nor too late. All in all, the food overall exceeded our expectations and the presentation of all the items was really nice. Kudos to the chef for the great preparations as well as presentation. The staff was really nice. They helped us in deciding our order since it was our first time. They were also always available whenever we needed them as well as they kept checking on us if we needed anything. The only part where we were super disappointed was the way how they added Gratuity in the bill and did not tell. We were very happy so we added tips as well not knowing it was already part of the bill. This is why they lost the second star, we are not sure if this is now a common practice or if it was a miss from our end. It's been a long time since we had done a dine-in. They could have skipped the tip option when we were doing the payment since the Gratuity was already a part of the bill or they could have told us that Gratuity is already included so tip accordingly. Nevertheless, we were very happy and didn't mind paying $70 for $50 food. But we just wanted to share this here so that everyone else is well informed. Copy of the receipt attached for reference.

Amazing experience! One of the nicest restaurant we have been to in a long time. The food and the ambiance both are amazing. We ordered few different dishes. Service time was very quick. Food taste amazing, peaceful environment and start member are very helpful. Price seems fine but they add service charge. Sometimes people want to give more tips but when u already added them, some people don’t bother. Can be improved on this. Though I paid the staff with extra cash tip. Recommended.

Was recommended to come here very strongly. It was a 45 minute drive but I am absolutely glad I came. I travel all over eastern North America and other parts of the world for work and this was an excellent experience and some of the best Tikka Masala I've had. The staff is extremely friendly and warm and the young lady that helped me was always smiling when she was at my table. I am definitely coming back on my meet trip to Toronto and will be telling everyone I know about it. I was absolutely full after my meal and the convinced me to try a dessert. I took one bit and next thing I knew it was gone. I would give it more stars than 5 if I could.

We visited this restaurant a couple of times last week. I must say Zauq is worth the money. Full marks for hospitality and the restaurant's ambiance. The tables are pretty big, and the restaurant is spacious. The interior is amazing, and the special thing here is each table has its own small shelve. As per the requirements, we can take bowls, plates, and cutlery. We tried Fish Tikka, Chicken Biryani, and Chicken Karai. I must say the chicken biryani's quality is top-notch. The food is delicious but kind of oily. Also, the Chicken Manchow Soup was more on the sweet side, with lots of tomato ketchup. Minus star for this. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Zauq. Gonna definitely visit again.

I loved the food. I ordered Lahori Fish and also Karahi Chicken. Both items were fantastic! Yes, it is expensive for one person, but the quantity is meant for two to three people!! Must try! Tyler is awesome! He explained everything, had good conversation, and overall kept good company. I strongly recommend to meet him if you visit the place.

The décor is absolutely stunning. Every corner was beautiful decorated with elegance. Really like the party area for families to do their events. We tried so many dishes and every single item was delicious. The soup was to die for. Like the qeema paratha, karahi, chilli chicken, kheer and beef roast. The food kept us talking for days. Will definitely recommend 👌

I got the mango Lassi, it was very yummy! The portion size is huge but I really liked it. We also got the Masala fries and the chicken samosas. The chicken samosa was delicious, my mom said that this was the best samosas she has ever tried! We had the butter chicken and Chana masala. I found that the Chana masala was bland. The butter chicken was very yummy! We also tried the chicken kebab, there was so many yummy flavors! The environment was beautiful! Definitely a nice spot for a date night and family dining! The workers were very nice! I will go again, for sure!!

I liked the ambiance as most Pakistani restaurants are not paying attention to it. Food wasn't exceptional, but it was fresh, fair priced, and serving size was fine. We ordered beef Samosa, veal biryani, and lamb Karahi. I asked Biryani with more masala, and they made it that way. The good thing was that 2 naans and 2 drinks were complimentary with half Karahi. I liked the Karahi, but my family felt it was a bit sweet. Gulab Jamun and kheer for dessert, and they gave mango delight complimentary, which was a sweet gesture. The only thing appetizer (Samosa) took long to arrive, and they served with Karahi at the same time, they were steaming hot though. Biryani arrived a bit late when I was almost stuffed with Karahi. overall staff was friendly and sweet, and I liked the idea of self-service dock with cutlery, crockery, water, and napkins. Knife and table spoons were missing in the cutlery. Crockery can be used a bit better quality to match with ambiance. Payment to be made at counter and girl at it was nice and asked to check the bill properly before payment. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

When we think about celebrations, ZAUQ is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything is always always outstanding. I cane with my family last Saturday, we had a big part hosted in the restaurant. We were about 25-30 people and we were accommodating very nicely. Everything was just perfect. We ordered the two Asian meals and they were such a good and big quantity. Chargha was mouth wateringggg!!! The food was perfectly on time and I have to say they are surprisingly big portions for what you pay. We ordered Reshmi kebabs, the chicken one and Nihari was so so soooooo gooooodddddd!!!!!!!! Lolipop chicken was loved by pur kids and what to say about the chicken biryani. We ordered a bucket size chicken biryani and it was such a big quantity and so soo fresh and good. The pieces were big and it tasted so delicious. Our servers we really awesome. They were so helpful and kind to us even the kids at the table were being so dramatic😂😂 The food was awesome, the service was just phenomenal. I would highly highly recommend this halal restaurant. The food is top notch, ambiance is very very beautiful!!!!! I have to say the reviews does not do justice to how good everything is in the restaurant. Top best restaurant all over GTA❤️❤️ Open more locations please!!! We came all the way from Michigan to try their food and it was just phenomenal!!!! Everything is so good and My mouth is watering while writing this review to be honest. might have been the best meal I have ever been served. Service was delightful and very professional. 10/10. Just one recommendation, always book a table before coming if you have a bigger party.

Absolutely amazing food.. went there by accident but totally happy we dined in for some amazing food. Restaurant is beautiful and spectacular interior. Every dish we ordered was fantastic. Special mentions to the Shrimp65 and short ribs .. their fries were super crispy and such a delight. I do wish they were a little better with their service. Staff could be friendlier and shouldn't have to wait as long as we did before having someone attend to us at the front desk. Overall would highly recommend going for the food and atmosphere!!

First off the ambiance and seating of this resto is amazing! There is tons of greenery along the walls and wooden furnishings. The floor space is quite large and there are many large well spaced tables so this is a good option for group dining. If you do a walk-in it's highly likely you'll be waiting for sometime on a busier weekday. I found it interesting that they have shelves near each table that contain cutlery, menu, and dishes which you table set yourself. There are also necessities like sanitizer and Kleenex. Food wise this place was good/ok depending on the dish and the portions were decent. The Chicken 65 was marinated well but completely lacked heat? We were expecting it to have a spicier kick. The Tikka was kind of dry and tasted ok. The chicken karahi was creamy and good, but not as flavourful as expected. I most enjoyed the chicken biryani but my friends found the spice mix on the heavier side (which I was fine with!). The naans were really soft and fluffy - pairing well with the karahi - and came in 3 different flavours (garlic, butter, plain). Overall this was a nice spot for especially Pakistani eats but mostly when you're looking for the ambiance!

Zauq is the best restaurant I have ever been to. I came to the restaurant after I saw their videos on tiktok. The food, service, ambiance everything is just the best. Their hakka food is best in all GTA. Customer service is so good and they takecare of you so nice. I came with my friends for dine-in and I loved their Zauq Chowmein and Chilli paneer, such a good combination. The manager is also awesome!!!! Definitely recommended to everyone!!!!!! Its two hundred percent worth the hype it has on Tiktok. Definitely coming back with family next time

We had the pleasure of experiencing the live BBQ at our wedding hosted by Zauq restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful choice. The aroma of grilling meats filled the air as the skilled chefs worked their magic right before our eyes. The assortment of marinated meats and vegetables sizzled on the grill, along with deep frying fresh puri parathas. The interactive element of watching the chefs craft these dishes added a unique and engaging touch to our event. The flavors were exceptional, with each bite bursting with the smoky essence of the grill and the perfect blend of spices. The live BBQ not only satisfied our palates but also provided an entertaining and memorable aspect to the wedding festivities. It was a true highlight of the evening, and I highly recommend this restaurant's live BBQ experience for any special occasion.

Amazing authentic Pakistani food! Came here with the family for a night out and had a great time. We've been meaning to try this location for a while but it's always a long wait especially on the weekend if you don't reserve ahead of time. Got the chicken Karhai, mixed grill platter and lahori fish, everything tasted authentic and amazing - mom approved! The prices were also reasonable given the food quantity. The ambiance was also very nice, not your typical desi restaurant style. Loved the way the tables were set up with a wooden shelf with cutlery and glasses for easy self-service.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly stuff. Very good place to go with your family. The spicy menu is not that spicy. Tastes good, reasonable price and portions. Definitely need reservations as it's always packed. Shout-out to "Kamal", who took care of us. She was very subtle and had an eye of attention to detail.

We ordered food for our event of 24 families at a community center in Brampton. We ordered for 63 people, the $13/person option. The food was delivered on time. The food quantity was more than enough. Everybody loved the food. It was delicious, and aroma was great. We will definitely order again.

Visited this restaurant today and loved the whole experience. First and foremost, the food was delicious and worth every penny, the service was amazing. Special shout out to Nawaz and Tyler for providing such great service. On top of that the whole ambience of the restaurant was lovely. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, hot and sour soup, reshmi kabob and the tandoori quarter leg.

The floor manager Nawaz and our server Nav provided us with the best service I’ve ever had and gave us great suggestions on what dishes to order. After New Delhi, the best butter chicken I have tried is at this place. Absolutely amazing. The food - we tried few different items in the menu, butter chicken, kadahi chicken, kebabs, vegetarian dishes all were speechless. I think the best I have tried in Canada- in 20 years. This is now going to be our go to place. The servers were very very polite, very informative. And friendly. One server who was excellent was Balpreet, she was exceptional. Recommended amazing items. Good luck will visit again. To the owner: your staff is excellent , very polite, please retain them at whatever cost hehe :) cheers.

My family loves going to Zauq with friend and family as well as any celebration meal. The atmosphere is beautiful and aesthetically so pleasing. Its got a modern rustic vibe to it. You serve yourself water, cutlery and plates - everything is provided in advance. The service is great and quick, and the food is absolutely delicious. We always leave there so full yet still have many leftovers. You can also bring your own cake and they'll provide additional small bowls for serving. Overall, highly recommend. We specifically enjoy the keema, masala fries, nihari and karahi.

By far the best Pakistani Indian food we had. This place has such a positive atmosphere, interiors is just perfect. Best part was the service. We were served by sweetest person Akshit. We were so tired and hungry when we reached at the restaurant the way he spoke to us with a big smile, we were all happy and fresh. All other staff was great and very polite. It was on Akshit' s recommendation we ordered chicken 65 and masala fries for appetizers... and it was the best tasting food ever. Main course was Karadhi chicken with naan... it was heavenly... must try place... full of positivity and smiles and yummiest food ever. I am definitely going there again. Thank you Akshit.. for making our day 🙂.

Food was okay. Service is terrible, staff has no concept of hospitality and told us our 10 person reservation for a birthday was cut short 15 mins after the food hit the table, the staff then hovered over our table attempting to rush us out the next 15 mins because they double booked another party on a Friday evening. They had no intention of making it right when we tried to speak to someone, and kept handing us off to another staff member until we decided to leave. Might be fine for takeout. But spend your money at any other restaurant if you’re planning on having a nice evening.

Absolutely amazing environment, good service however the self service could use improvement for larger groups. For example, we didn't have enough glasses or larger plates and utensils for everyone in a group of 11. Food was great, although the beef seekh kababs were bit dry. The biryani, volcano chicken, chicken Tikka mask, beef short ribs, and chicken karahi were all amazing. Must try. I'll definitely go back.

This place has the Best Biryani hands down and it’s pretty reasonable. Their kebabs are very tasty too. If your have a slightly larger crowd or appetite I would recommend ordering a party tray as it’s more value for money. Unfortunately whenever we have tried to dine in they been completely booked or had a super long wait. Their popularity is probably testament to the good food they serve. Hopefully I get to review the dine in experience some day but until then you must try out the food from here. Update - I experienced the dine in at this place after a 45 minute wait. You must come prepared to wait on weekends. And I took a risk and ordered the Chinese food, the quantity was amazing but it did not match their Mughlai food. But the service and staff were amazing and were always available for anything we needed.

Our chicken karahi was not cooked well. Some chicken was raw. But it still tasted nice. Kebab and Malai boti are also good. They accommodated us for a table as it was really busy. Shout out to their service staff who are friendly and do their best to make sure you have a great experience. Free naan and pop with Karahi and other items which was excellent as other places charge for these. Will go back again to try their hakka Chinese. We are a family of 4 and they take reservations only for 5 and above. Well we'll make reservations for 5 and then say one didn't show up LOL .. overall recommended the place

The decor of the restaurant is vibrant and the ambiance is good. The food was delicious, aromatic and fresh. The best indo pakistani food I’ve ever tasted so far. There’s one thing which is very unique I’ve experienced at Zauq is that there’s a rack for utensils like plates, cutlery and glasses adjacent to every table encouraging self service.

We went to Zauq for a late lunch, and as soon as we entered we were impressed with the decor. The space is so beautifully done, and has hints of sunnah tips as soon as you enter. There were tips on how to eat the sunnah way and a sadaqa box. We were quickly seated to a table which had a self serve rack with plates, cutlery, water, menu, sanitizer and some sauces. Each table has its own self serve rack. This was a cool idea. The food was good, though it took a while to get our order. We ordered Karahi chicken, zauq Hakka noodles, zauq bbq platter, aloo parathas and naan. All of these items were really good. They are medium spicy except for the zauq noodles which were perfect for little children (not spicy at all but full of flavour). They confirmed they use hand slaughtered chicken. Our over all experience was pleasant!

I was firstly impressed by the ambiance. The rustic decor gave a fresh and vibrant feeling of being outside in a tropical place. Lighting was perfect and aided in setting the right mood.... relaxed. The food is AMAZING. We had the fish for appetizer and lamb for main course and was blown by the taste as well as the quantity. The appetizer is enough for 6 persons and lamb could comfortably feed 3 mouths 🤭. Kudos to the chef! kudos to the servers and the receptionist as the great service was the cherry on top!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Everything here is excellent. The menu has a wide range of specialty dishes, every single dish is authentically prepared, thr quantity is value for money, thr service is attentive - although expect to wait for 20 minutes for the food to arrive. They let you order ahead so you can save time by doing that. The decor is so unique and charming. The seating is spacious - so you don't feel crowded. And thr best part, they don't rush you. You won't regret choosing this place for a meal.
