Absolutely horrible experience. There was an Indian lady (dark, wavy hair, short) who was very rude at the check out counter. We were trying to scan all our items and place them in bags. She suddenly started yelling at us in front of other customers. We tried dealing with her politely but she started misbehaving. We were so horrified and embarrassed that we left all our items there and left the place. I don't know how they hire such people. My husband and I decided to never visit this location again. I wish they take some action against her or else they are definitely going to lose a lot of customers as I see multiple similar reviews about this lady below. Shame on her for talking this way and misbehaving with customers for no reason!! She deserves to be fired!!!

Is it normal to hire employees that are extremely rude and shout at the customers?? Well if that is the case case then such a shame, very bad shopping experience, the employees need to learn how to be polite and respectful and have manners while talking to a customer. Customer service is the most important thing in retail, even if you have the cheapest prices it's nothing without having respectful business drivers on the floor. Such a shame I really regret ever shopping from there....

The Indian woman(dark brown, wavy hair, short) at self-checkout PUBLICLY HUMILATED me. She came to me, saying "you don't understand self checkout. Let me teach you how to do it." Hey, I'm not a one-year-old baby. I have always done self checkout with no issues at other stores. This Indian woman just wanted to show her superiority over me. And when I was looking at the screen and checking the items, she stopped me and directly tapped on the pay button then the debit/credit button without my permission, then yelled at me: "Tap your card. Pay!". I felt publicly humiliated. She also randomly grabbed my own backpack(worth $400) without my permission and threw it onto my bought items, causing the items to drop from the table. When I was picking the stuff, I almost cried. I felt BULLIED by her. I didn't know why she behaved that way to me.

An indian woman at the checkout was very rude to me because I bought a lot of stuff, and after I paid , I wasn’t fast enough to grab all my stuff and leave. She said other people want to use the machine... but there were no other people... Store was kinda empty at that time... Stupid place! Stupid staff, won’t go again...

Great Dollarama overall. There is always a good selection of well stocked products for every season. The store is large and well organized. Employees have always been nice every time I got to this location. My one issue is that there can be long line ups. It would be nice to see more people on cash or even some automated tellers like they have in a few of their other locations.

My boyfriend and I went to this Dollarama (Dollarama in Empress Mall) on April 26 around 12:35pm. I grabbed a shopping basket. I sanitized the handles with a “hand sanitizer”. The Indian lady at the checkout told me that I should not use the sanitizer in front because it’s only for the hands and that she already sanitized it with her cleaning supplies. Okay — I understand that… but it’s my preference to sanitize again the handles (I’m happy I did because she showed me the wipes she was using, and I believe the wipes needs to be changed). I have a lot of issues with this Indian lady, and I could have written everything here before seeing most of the 1 star reviews are for her.

We had a question about an exchange and my husband was talking to the manager and when she answered his question I asked a related question and she said”mam I can deal with only one person” and when I said “he’s my husband” she repeated her sentence. I asked her her name and she said she doesn’t have to give me her name. I asked how I can make a complaint and she turned her back at me and said “call”. My husband went to he afterwards and told her her behaviour wasn’t acceptable and she said”no it wasn’t” and left. Very bad customer service. Very rude behaviour.

Terrible, there is an indian lady at the check out, extremely rude and disgusting behavior. I dont know why she still works there, after seeing every bad review is about her. I have called dollarama and filled a complaint. This woman needs to be fired before somebody calls the police on her.

Indian waitress, let a kid in with a puppy. When we brought the puppy she said no. It's a really double standard. In addition, we go to many dollar stores where puppies can be brought in. It doesn't matter that there are so many dollar stores in Spadina or Yonge and Bloor. The dollar store here is really responsible.🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

BE VERY CAUTIOUS!!!!! Lots of damaged items and no refund no exchange stamp. Purchased for $250 and had to deal with unpleasant employees over few bucks I wanted to return….less then $10. If you’re shopping there make sure it’s a store you are comfortable to have business with. See similar reviews it’s obviously ongoing for years. Don’t give them any business! They should be reported!

If I am not treated well, I normally dont give any review rather than leave a constructive feedback! For other customers benefits and interests, I have to say that as a long time loyal customer, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated by the why how I was treated bite this is stole at a crucial point of time! The door was shut firmly right in front of me before their closing hours (i. e 5 mins to 8pm on Sunday, Dec 18th). Several stuff at door rudely refused to listen to me and to let me to pick up just 1 piece of crucial item! To ensure that I would not take too much of their time, I clearly pointed out where and what to pick up the item which we ran short in order to keep my sick mom, who is also hospital out patient, warm and safe at that night! Instead of feeling sorry for me, they were obviously angry at me and loudly shut the door and turned their back to me or went away! I feel that I was not treated as a human, let alone a customer despite my legitimate and persist simple request during their opening hours!!! During the around 20 mins outside their 99% closing door, at one point one of the staff sensed something urgent, but he could not make that decision, he then escalated to his manager. I felt good and being taken seriously at that moment. Shortly, I was really shocked to see: 1. the manager showed no sympathy at all and firmly declined his staff’s escalation. 2. Facing my legitimate request directly to him after all stuff went away, he even turned a dead ear to my sincere persistent “begging”, explanation of why I showed up that late, the importance of the needed item and serious consequences! 3. He was calmly counting his coins at teller machine and never talked or responded to me any more! The frustration and fuming kept me awake all night, I kept thinking such a big brand chainstore may be too busy to save the money or their electricity cost to care about their customer! I hope this kind of incident will not happen to other customers in need!

The Indian girl who works there is very very rude, she has no customer service skills. I have seen many reviews who say the same as me. This Dolorama will loose customers to the one at Sheppard Yonge as it is also very well stocked

Great Dollarama, terrible employees. I’ve been to this place multiple times before, no problems with the cashiers and they’re all very nice. But there was this one woman, I don’t know her name but she is Arabic or Filipino, middle aged, has glasses, a biapproximately 5’3”, and has dark short hair. So I was jogging a bit in the aisle to find my sister and she started freaking out at me. Saying that it’s not a playground etc. That’s understandable and I apologized. I moved to the next aisle to prevent any further problems, looking for cards for my sister and friends, and this woman purposely starts watching us. She pretends that she’s cleaning somewhere beside us and when we laughed at a comedy card, QUIETLY, and she said things about “NoT lAuGhiNg aT hEr” even when we weren’t and told us to buy things as if we can’t look around. Even when you’re working minimum wage in a Dollarama, having some human decency is important. Would avoid honestly even talking to her. She should be fired or given a warning immediately.

You literally get what you're paying for. I bought $250 worth of things and half of them turned out to be useless. Don't buy any live clean dry shampoos, don't buy the spotlights, don't buy the empty spray bottles they all ruin so fast, the spice jars set rust so fast, some chocolates taste horrible, sharpie markers are dry! Notebooks' quality is horrible!! and no parking lot as well.

This location only has self checkout. I’d prefer to support my young people and use a cashier.

Typical small Dollarama. It has gone to self check out only.! Very annoying. I forego shopping there and go to Steeles or Finch.

Limited availability, minimal staffing. The nearby dollarama at yonge Sheppard centre is much larger, well staffed and has a lot more variety.

This is my store to shop at. They are fair with there products on there shelves. This store has anything you are looking for. I thought I was going to buy the Royal Kleenex box for myself. I was remove button for the Royale Kleenex box from the self checkout machine. The Bulgarian woman said she was going to help me and she didn't. Then she said I could use the other self checkout machine to scan my stuff and I said OK. She went to help other people instead. She was supposed to sign off the code into the machine with her ID badge. She hasn't been doing that for the past 10 minutes so I walked out and left. Before I was about to leave she asked me if I needed the Royale Kleenex box for $1.25 and I said no.

Things always scan at the wrong price at this location! Always check the price before you pay people. And ya that one Sri Lankan lady employee is very mean

Not the biggest Dollarama in the universe but it has a reasonable selection. Cramped aisles which sux especially during COVID but thats standard Dollarama fair anyway.

Terrible experience sharing. Today I went there to get liquid detergent along with other things. Without realizing the cap was half opened, some detergent leaked from the top and dripped on the floor. A staff member immediately yelled, “Do you have any common sense?!”. I was holding a number of items in my hands and didn’t notice the cap of the bottle was not securely closed. It was inappropriate to yell at a customer and what only MAKES SENSE is to offer help and assist the customer. As a service provider, this attitude was totally unacceptable. She should be happy I didn’t escalate this further. Be careful when you shop there. Don’t drop anything or you may get yelled at. By the way, it’s the same woman everyone is talking about here. She either forgets her meds or skips her anger management classes. What an experience!

Worse customer service ever. I was in the store today was only 2 persons working in the store. One was on the floor just talking to her phone and second on the self check out cash. I had 2 buggy’s full and she said you not allowed to pay here wait for a cashier. After i just told cashier i have 3 of this 5 of that and she said don’t talk to me I can’t work. Worst worst customer service, I don’t know how seeing this i hope be a maner.
