Slow service as there was only one waitress. She tried her best though. There are help wanted signs all over town! Pretty busy when we arrived at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. People were lined up getting to go orders and about half the tables were taken. No draft beer as the cooler was broken. They had some bottled beer but not all that was listed on the menu. We ordered wine and it was a nice sized serving. The Salmon bento box was large (for me anyway). It had flash fried salmon, sticky rice, a Philadelphia roll, potstickers, and salad. I really enjoyed it! The Blue moon special roll for the day had a combination of seafood with a rather thick fried coating drizzled with a blackberry sauce. It sounded interesting but ended up being unremarkable. The breading overwhelmed the seafood. The Rock and Roll with eel, cucumber, avocado was very tasty. The service needs help but we would return for the food.

Sushi Ya is my highest recommended Sushi restaurant. Downtown Eugene is lucky to have this cozy restaurant. Fresh made to order. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Melissa gets. my vote for best day hostess . Go say hi! I'll be back. If you found this review to be helpful please like it. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Took my bestie there recently and we had the seaweed salad, which is really rich, and I had the rock n roll and the Philadelphia roll! Both were good tho the Philadelphia was a touch on the too fishy side. Unagi was superb! Service was odd, tho, our waitress brought us the check before we were done ordering beer and we were sort of abandoned after that. Cozy atmosphere! Love the decor.

We really enjoyed the rolls and Nigiri sushi. The nigiri sushi is large and a great value. Update: can back again and enjoyed several rolls

Our first time ever at sushi ya. Staff was friendly and nice place, we ordered two bento boxes. Teriyaki was good just a bit salty. Could easily fill you up and it came with 4 sushi rolls. We got the spicy tuna rolls and were really delicious. Definitely one of the best sushi's in Eugene. Friendly staff and quick service(we did go on a weekday).

Jo (20-piece sashimi) and sunshine roll. The blackberry sauce was awesome on the roll. I've missed sushi this great! The honey ginger tea was so tasty.

Poor service, and the Hana roll I ordered was overfull with tuna that tasted like it had gone sour yesterday. The single cup of tea I ordered was overpriced (and no regular sugar or honey was available). Extremely disappointed, as they've always been tasty in the past.

We tried this restaurant on the way to visit south oregon coast . The food is nowhere close to authentic Japanese favor. I love to give five stars to the waitresses who is friendly and polite but food one star. I have habit to take leftovers back home today i felt it was a gross. Even my hungry kids could not finish two dishes. We ordered some rolls why cab meat in special rolls are fake and fishy . The fish is not fresh surprisedly and very warm . All the fried foods are same favor i would guess they used the same fried source and meat like chicken is not very fresh.

Quickly seated. Booth is really uncomfortable, has basically plywood as your back support. When the server came over she took our drink order and we needed another minute to decide on food so she said β€œI’ll be back in 3 minutes and I’m counting” and then came back in about 20 minutes. I didn’t exactly understand what was taking so long since they had a total of about 2-3 tables when they should’ve been prepared for a busy Friday night. We almost got up and left to go to another restaurant. She finally took our order and forgot a few of the extra things we asked for (extra ginger, spicy Mayo, more water, etc). The only reason I’m not giving one star is because the food was pretty good. Checkout was interesting, at a nice restaurant you wouldn’t think you would need to pay up front at the host area.

I have never been a big fan of sushi, so when my partner and I biked through downtown looking for dinner, Sushi Ya was an unlikely choice. I order the Teriyaki salmon Bento box, and oh my! We have been back many times since. With Spidey and He Man for photographic fun.

Sushi is Amazing! If you are a traditional sushi goer, they do a spectacular job, if you like to live on the edge and try something new, the Paradise Roll..fresh tuna, mango, macadamia, avocado and a delightful cream sauce. Also...My husband highly recommends firecrackers, deliciously stuffed tempura jalapenos w/cream cheese and spicy tuna (pic included)

Absolutely people really need to try the beef rolls, they are fantastic and a must have. The fried calamari is tasty, light and crispy. And the Aztec roll is totally delicious. Service was attentive, but our waitress was a tiny bit impatient for us to get our food order. She barely gave us time to think about what food to order. πŸ™ The down sides are, it is very definitely a bit on the expensive side but worth it your going there for a celebration of some sort.

The food is great. The menu is so big it's really had to choose! There is a bidet in the restroom 🚻. That is unusual.

Amazing food and the sashimi is to DIE for!! πŸ˜©πŸ’— Whenever I get any kind of sashimi, it's always there. Yeah it can be a bit expensive but the quality of food and service can't be denied. The only issue I had was that there was a hair in my food. It's still my ultimate favorite place though! Great to impress your date or family at!

Jason was my server and I will happily be back weekly just for his service alone. Food was impeccably fresh and tasty, clearly made with love. Prices are amazing for the quality. Working downtown gives you tons of food options but this is one of my new fav spots. after visiting at least 5 times now I can confidently say they are consistent.

Highly recommend for sushi in Eugene!! I’ve gotten take out many times, but ate in for the first time last night and it was amazing as ever. Service was very quick, clean atmosphere, hot sake, and very good rolls! Wish the rolls were a bit larger for the price but the quality is good. Really great sushi!

I ordered Sushi Ya for delivery and it was delicious, with the Rainbow roll being so fresh and tasty. I also am gluten free and I asked for gluten free soy sauce, which they provided. I very much appreciate how inclusive it is for those with dietary restrictions! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Hands down THE best sushi. The many years this family have owned this place stands miles above all other sushi. The atmosphere, the service, the locals, and the many many types of sushi is EPIC! Thank you Sushi Ya for many birthday, quiet anniversaries, feeding my picky kids and teaching them about sushi!, and most of all having the best prices. My husband and I celebrate every moment with you!

Best miso in Eugene, seriously. I have tried many different menu items and they are all amazing. Of all the sushi places in Eugene, this is my favorite. Also they have lunch specials that are such a good deal, and it's well made. I love this place, and you should definitely try it.

Excellent. Might be the best I've ever had, and reasonable pricing. Hans loved it. When he photographs something, it means the presentation is appropriate, πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ and that he will attempt to reproduce at home, and surprise me. πŸ™„He knows his food. Last photo depicts Hans all out of the Wasabi delivery device, and trying some Wasabi , straight....πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜³

Fish is super fresh and they have a large menu with something for all tastes. Good service and hours. I like the booth seating in these times of Covid. They have daily specials although I don't care for those creations with sweet berry sauces. Parking is available on the street or in parking structures.

Loved this our first visit to Sushi Ya. The fish was fresh, the flavors rich and original, the service prompt and friendly. There really is a lot to pick from and whatever we tried was well worth it. Prices were reasonable too, given recent inflation in everything.

Delicious sushi, I ordered the Spider roll and the Fire Show! We also had the potstickers, and miso soup! The ambiance was warm and inviting! I'd definitely be going back again!

I love going here for their Crunch Rolls, I wish the krab had a little more texture but overall this is a great spot for tasty sushi!
