Snack shack is a Eugene/Springfield institution. We loved it. My son is 44 and we used to go there when he was little. Except, yesterday I got the BBQ Chicken Dinner. I love the skin, but this time the skin was so thick I couldn’t pull it off the chicken, let alone eat it. I’m so sorry that it was this way because I’ve always loved going here. Sorry Snack Shack but it’s the truth.

I went out of my way to come here because it's a throwback from a time gone by. This is not a fast food chain. It's a mom and pop place on the side of the road and the food is absolutely OUTSTANDING, the portions are large. Best burger I've had in a long, long time and they piled on the fries. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is 100%!

The burger was quality. The patty was flavorful and juicy and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The curly fries as well were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They also maintained integrity throughout the meal and were well seasoned. Nothing I can say against this place!

Food was excellent! I wish they would get a bigger place so they could have more tables and have more business and be open more but it's whatever, the food is top notch tho, I highly recommend getting the potato salad as a side with whatever you get because it is AMAZING!!! You won't regret it!

I wish they would bring serving breakfast. It was the bomb!!!. I had the best chef salad and the soup was the best I have had from any where, I believe it was minestrone. Home made and it was more like a stew.. thank you shack.

I’m wondering if they have a new owner. I’ve been going here for 10 to 15 years and it was always a very dependable meal. I got my staple the club sandwich and it was unrecognizable didn’t even have bread on the bottom. It was like I made it at home. Does anybody know if these are new owners and this is the new norm?

We looked up great BBQ on Google and it brought us here! Unfortunately BBQ is no longer on the menu, so we tried the hamburgers (their specialty), and they were GREAT. It's hard to tell from the outside, but this is a miniature 50s diner, with a menu to match. They make their own sauces and the ingredients are high quality. Portions are generous but not too much. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and accepting. Imagine your favorite aunt running a tiny restaurant with great food!

Craving a burger and giant burger was closed so I gave this place a go for take out. I will say the lady taking orders was so so so nice and good at her job, the assumed owner who gave me a refund was very sweet also. My issue is not with them at all. I have worked restaurants for 8 years so I was not sure why the cook sent out the burger I ordered. It was very burnt, to the point the cheese was charred black and just fell off whenever I touched it. I would’ve much rather preferred to be told “hey he accidentally burnt it, it’s just gonna be an extra moment for it to be remade” than to have opened up the container to see this. It honestly killed my appetite. I would’ve gave them a shot a remake, but I had to get to work and didn’t have time. The time it took me to drive the few blocks home, discover this, come back for a refund and then drive to work.. if the cook had just admitted it was burned and remade it I could’ve enjoyed the burger I was craving before work. I tried to at least pay for my soda, Plus I wanted to leave a tip for the lady who tried to make it right. They said to not worry about it. I’m not sure if I’ll give this place another go, I hope if I do I have a better experience. I’m reluctant because this burger was OBVIOUSLY burned and he sent it out to go anyways. To me, that seems dishonest.. I know he boxed it and the lady upfront didn’t see it before it went out so again, my problem is with the cook. I also felt he started acting passive aggressive onced he noticed I was back unhappy about my food. It was a little uncomfortable. I really hate leaving this review because the ladies were sweet… but this was all around unacceptable.

I have been telling myself to remember to go here, since I was a young girl. I think possibly this place has been around as long as I have, maybe even longer!!! I am ashamed, I just never think of it. I finally remembered & went! I am SO sad I didn't go sooner, because the place is adorable, the food was mouth wateringly awesome, the Waitress was beyond sweet, the Cook was so friendly & personable & the food portions were huge! My SIL ordered Chicken strips & Onion Rings & she let me try a Ring. That was the freshest Onion Ring I have ever had from the West Coast to the East Coast & back. Not at all greasy either. When I bit into it, the entire onion didn't slide out either, which always displeases me & happens at every single other place I have tried them. My bite was crunchy, sweet, oniony & perfect! I savored every bite of that Onion Ring, let me tell ya! Her Chicken Strips were the size of boats, no joke, the biggest thickest Chicken strips I have ever seen. She said they were the best she'd ever had as well & she is a total Chicken Strip connoisseur! I ordered the Junior Cheese Burger with non crispy Fries. I always ask for my Fries that way. Before our order came, our waitress brought 3 big squeeze bottles over, 1 ranch, 1 thousand island & 1 ketchup. That was cool. When the waitress brought our food over, which didn't take long at all, considering that they were quite busy with obvious regular customers; she apologized profusely stating they put 2 of the 1/6 lb patties on my Cheeseburger instead of just one patty, because their patty supplier brought them the wrong patties. How cute was that? My Junior Cheeseburger was absolute perfection, with all the trimmings! The patties were super delish, no weird gristle or grease. My Fries were done just the way I asked for them to be. The food, atmosphere & folks here are so nice & the food so great, that I have been talking about it since. I tried the Ranch & the Fry Sauce (1000 Island) & both were beyond yummy. I want to go back & try everything on the menu, but my waistline would hate me. I plan to go once or twice a month, until I get to try everything. Oh & I ordered a bowl of Potato Cheese Soup to go & WOWWWWWWW it was fantastic! I wish I had have been going here all along over the years! Thank you Snack Shack for existing! You are wonderful.

Visited this place while passing through town. I'm always down for a homemade burger and I'm happy I found this place. The guy at the front counter was welcoming and helpful with making my selection. I decided on a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and I'll just say the food was great. It was exactly what I had a taste for and the food was right on point. Wish I was in town longer to try more of their menu. All I'm saying is you should definitely check this place out. It's totally worth it.

This place is amazing! We were just traveling through and getting tired of the typical chain restaurants so we decided to stop here. They were so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! I got the chicken and ranch sandwich with curly fries and my mom got the junior burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. And they gave us so many fries I have leftovers for my air fryer. I highly recommend everyone stops here if they have the chance.

The owner is a nice lady who is very understanding. I appreciate the food was done in a timely manner. It came out hot. I provided some food critiques to the owner, and she was very understanding. Thank you! The food needs some consistency especially with the chili. I like their burgers were delicious, and their onion rings were not greasy. They were accommodating and they were kind. I think the staff should keep their communication at a minimum volume so that it doesn’t resonate through the diner. However, I recognize the place is small so that could be a reason staff voices could be heard. Overall, it was a good experience. Thank you for providing me a good time. I hope that I can come back soon. Thanks!

I had heard of this place before, so when I drove past, I decided it was time to try it. The first thing that caught my attention was the guy at the front counter. His customer service skills were ON POINT! His enthusiasm was infectious, and he demonstrated how much he cared about every single customer that came in the door while I was there. But even more than that, he kept the customers feeling like they mattered even while they waited for their food, rather than just while they ordered. While waiting, I had asked how the clam chowder was. He told me it was amazing, of course. Little did I know, he had served me up some to try. I didn't find out about that until AFTER I decided to tip 50%, just because of his excellent customer service skills (and before I even tried the food!) He was super thankful and indicated the container of soup he had dished out for me before he even knew I would tip him, and we had a good laugh. My order was to go. I had decided to try a double Western Bacon Cheeseburger this time, with the regular fries. But the clam chowder called to me and I had to try it. I am very picky about clam chowder and make a point to try it every place I can. I was AMAZED, it was some of the best clam chowder I have ever had. I'll need to do a taste test with my top two over on the coast now. When I got to the burger and fries, it just confirmed for me that this place is amazing. Toasted buns, excellent tasting barbecue sauce, meat with wonderful flavor, delicious onion rings, and fries that were delicious and perfectly cooked. Not only will I be going back, I'll be taking as many people there to try it as I can. I was excited to finish eating just so I could write this review. The customer service won my heart, and the food won my stomach. Bravo.

So my partner and I recently moved into the area and were driving down the main drag, looking for a good lunch spot. We had passed the Snack Shack on a previous trip and decided to give it a try. The outside is old school family drive-in vibe....very nonassuming. But don't let the outside or humble inside fool you, ok? I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger w/ onion rings and my partner got the BBQ beef sandwich w/fries and coleslaw. You guys...the food was excellent. I don't know where they source their meat from, but it is quality. You can taste it. The beef sandwich was so tender! I am very picky about my fries/onion rings. I know it is strange but those are my comfort foods and they need to be right. Y'all...my onion rings were sooo golden crunchy! The fries were on point. The best suprise was discovering that both were still crisp, even hours later! The buns were perfectly toasted, and the portions sizes were generous w/o sacrificing quality. Whoever they have in the back cooking knows how to cook. The owner is such a sweet lady. She's owned the Snack Shack for 15+ years and like most restaurants, she was hit really hard by the pandemic. If this place was to close, it would really be a shame. Snack Shack is a perfect place to support if you really want to local business/economy. P.S. Beef sandwich is going off menu soon due to high overhead/menu simplification, so get over there and try it soon!!

Went to this Little Burger Place for the First time a few days ago, passed by it hundreds of times but never stopped They have lots of burgers to choose from, plus they have other food items however I wanted a local burger on national burger day so thats all I really looked at. The staff is very friendly and talkative. I was told that the place had been around since the 1950's I ordered the Special The Big Burger with Fries and a Drink, was an excellent burger with Fresh Thick slices tomatos, lettuce and onions and just the right amount of condiments, the fries were crinkle cut. Very Tasty and filling Its worth visiting the Little Unique Burger and Other Food Place

When I used to live in California, I frequented a burger place called Athenians and they had the best burgers. I've been looking for a place in Oregon that was similar but it's been a challenge to find. Until I went to snack shack recently. I've driven past them several times but haven't visited until recently. I really enjoyed the burger here and it was very reminiscent of Athenians. Suggest you stop in and try.

Cute small town diner. Very sweet staff. You're not going to find things like a fruit parfait or summer fruit salad here, but delicious simple American food classics are offered in large tasty portions. Nice BBQ menu too although we tried other items listed. Perfect for a pit stop for the whole family.

What a hidden gem! We've been stopping off at the Shack for maybe 10+ years now after discovering it on a soccer trip and now every time we go by we have to stop. The burgers and crinkle fries are so good!

By far one of my top 3 places that make good potatoe salad. I didn't even want to stop here but I'm so glad that my husband was like we're stopping here because I would've never thought this place would be the place that did. If you haven't eaten there yet well then get up and go lol

Stopped in for lunch today. We were the only people there. So nice to be able to stay and eat inside. This place is beyond clean! We felt so safe. The woman taking our order was so nice and helpful. The service was phenomenal as was the burger basket and chicken strips. Decent prices, excellent food. We haven't been here in a long time but will be back soon. YOU ROCK SNACK SHACK ✌️❤️

I had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger with curly fries and tater tots and it was delicious. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. All together, ot was a great dining experience and they paid extra special attention for cleanliness due to COVID-19. Recommended.

You know how you see those shows on TV about awesome hole in the wall bbq places? Not it. Pretty good. Use a jarred BBQ sauce. Beans were sweet with some onion and green pepper. Above average potato salad. Good food and lots of it
