If you are in the area and would like to get gifts for your family or friends or even as a souvenir gift for yourself, this is a good stop and shop place for that. Also they have a wine tasting room- not sure what’s the schedule for it because we are not alcohol drinkers. Last time we visited, the room was open and it was super busy. My husband and I frequently visit this store to enjoy some of the local made stuff as sometimes is hard to find them around. We also buy list of gifts for our families and we always hear amazing things. Staff are very friendly and if they discontinue anything you like, just ask them and they will guide you to how you can get the product. I love that they have delivery/shipping options. You can shop, but the stuff in a box and they take care of the shipping process for you. We will be visiting them again soon,

Local gifts. Local foods and products. Great place to stop by on your way out of town if you want to take a little bit of Humboldt with you.

This is a souvenir store at the heart of Eureka, CA. This shop is well organize, and staff is friendly. It has no parking, so you should find parking on the street (it was easy for me to find a spot). Store contains lots of local Humboldt memorabilia: tea, coffee, wine, soaps, chocolates, toys, t-shirts, etc. I do recommend this store. Note that, the store is a little bit pricier.

If you want to convince yourself you need to buy something — this is a good start. On a beautiful block on Main Street in Ashland, OR. So happy we spent time there.

I don't have any photos, but this was a really cute place in Eureka. There was a lot to choose from all centered around Humboldt. The people working there were helpful and I heard them talking to other patrons about items in the shop. Although I didn't purchase anything, I was tempted. Lots of different things to choose from.

The cutest store! They have a variety of nice items for purchase. This store reminds me of Pier 1 Imports.

Such a great little shop that highlights products made in Humboldt county! They have jewelry, cards, and even local food!

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and let me tell you that she truly cares about her store and her patrons. Thanks Sarah! Please visit this place when you are in Eureka and support the locals. I grew up in Eureka and usually come home once or twice a year. I love this place, and my family and I always buy mementos from this store when we visit. And yes, the items may be higher priced, but much of it is handmade from local artists - which is amazing! You will find things you won’t anywhere else. Well worth the prices and better than going to the local mall. With that being said, my husband and I were recently there (January 6) and were excited to check out the new expansion. Sadly, the woman behind the counter made our experience less than ideal. She barely acknowledged us when we came in and didn’t really want to chat when I told her how awesome the expansion looked. We honestly felt like she either (1) did not want to be there or (2) didn’t want us to be there or maybe it was both. This was the complete opposite of past experiences. I have always encountered friendly staff at Humboldt Mercantile, so I was a bit bummed. We still threw down some cash and enjoyed the new shop, but I’m not sure I will return in the future. It was just an uncomfortable situation that I would like to avoid in the future. Hopefully the expansion didn’t change the charm of this place because it truly was a gem of a store.

Super cute shop in old downtown Eureka with a unique selection of lovely handmade goods from local artisans. I was visiting from Texas and they didn’t have a shirt that I wanted in my size so I emailed them when I got home, and they remembered to email me back a few weeks after their initial reply to let me know when it was restocked online! Excellent customer service, and the shirt is super soft and fits perfectly!
