This place is normally really great, but we had a not great experience tonight. First, we always place a large To Go order and it usually costs us around $250 including the tip. We placed a smaller order tonight (by about 4 rolls) and it cost over $300 so they definitely raised their prices since we last ordered in January. Second, there was a long black hair in the box with our Kai rolls, rendering 3 entire rolls inedible. Third, the wasabi tonight was a really weird and unnatural blue/green color - so off putting. And fourth, the Kai rolls also had pink dye on the rice and we have no idea what it was from. Did they dye the tuna? What the heck would the pink dye be from? Again, we have ordered the same order from this place many times and have always previously had a great experience, which is why we kept going back. This was a bad experience and I’m not sure we’ll go back after this. They NEVER answer their phones on weekends so I can’t even call to complain, and they’re not open again until Tuesday. Also, my husband ordered at about 4:30 and they told him it would be 45min to an hour, but it was actually 1.5hrs before it was ready. To wait that long, pay as much as we did, and get less than great food, it was not worth it tonight. Go at your own risk.

Eat here! Don’t bother looking for another sushi place, this is the one you want. The food is always amazing. The service, especially the always lovely Cindi, cannot be beat. I have eaten here more times than I can count and have never once had even a mediocre meal or experience. I cannot encourage people to try Kai out enough. You will not be sorry!

The sashimi salad was good, nice slices of fish on there, the rolls were a little small in size, but they give a decent amount of pieces (8 to start), the monkey brain was delicious. The service was great! They had one server on while the other was on lunch and she was killin it managing the rush.

We really love the quality of the food here but unfortunately we just cannot love the service. Tonight was our 4th attempt and we left with another disappointing experience. The first time we waited 20 min for someone to take our order. The 2nd time we attempted to place a take out order and was told that they weren’t doing takeout orders after 5 pm.. it was 5:05 and it was not busy. The 3rd time the waitress was incredibly rude and never came back to fill our water or check on us plus they were out of 3 ingredients which eliminated several of the rolls on the menu. Tonight we attempted to place a pickup order.. we began calling 50 min before close and the phones were disconnected. We show up 30 min to close and they are closed. No note on the door, no post on their website or social media. I can understand facing challenges occasionally but facing this many in just a few months is enough to make us not want to attempt coming back. Which is a true shame because their food is outstanding.

This is a great sushi spot located in the heart of downtown Everett. The Baked Salmon Roll was great. The Jalepeño Poppers were really unique, they were fried and delicious. The restaurant had a relaxing, peaceful, vibe.

Now I don't go for sushi all that often but a few times a year. This was a new place and it was very good. Portions were good to where we got 3 rolls for two people. I liked the large selection of sushi. I will go back soon. The dining area was small but didn't seem like an issue. We did go to an early dinner so it might get busy later on.

Service was fast and friendly. The dining room was really nice and modern. I was mostly impressed by how big and great of a selection they had for specialty rolls. Also offers plenty of vegetarian options for those who need it. A little pricey, but worth it!

Great sushi. Miso soup is tasty, sashimi is delicious so you know it's going to be good when combined with rice - though I prefer the straight fish. Easily one of my best and favorite sushi places in the greater PNW space

Absolutely fantastic sushi here! Pricing is reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We had the "monkey brains" 😂 I thought I didn't like warm avocado but lightly deep fried stuffed avocado, spicy tuna, & crab with house spicy sauce... So good! Also had a "heart attack" 😂 spicy tuna, cream cheese, avocado, jalapeño inside, deep fried roll in house spicy sauce. Oh my goodness... Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.

They have a nice sake offering and I was able to get a sweet sake that I liked. I ordered the black dragon roll . It had some character which I like. I especially enjoyed the sashimi salad which was very fresh and palate cleansing

One of our (if not our most!) favorite sushi restaurants. Well worth the drive for us.

Yum!! Ordered the Washington Roll, Mango Salmon Roll, and some seared salmon nigiri and it was all delicious and well done! The service was great and super fast + attentive. Reasonable prices, all that plus some tea and miso soup was ~$55 for two before tip. I definitely want to come to try their weekday lunch specials!

Good find! I love that they have a cucumber (no rice) roll, rare find. The Baja roll was so refreshing with almost a slight lemon flavor. The Black Dragon was not over sauced which is common with unagi (eel), instead you could actually taste the fish, which was nice! Had a Sapporo and a hot saki which wasn't that smooth for a house but I won't be picky during these unusual times. The service was efficient, I mentioned I had never been there before and they gave me my space but didn't offer any insights. Decent prices too. I'll be visiting again, but would love more hamachi choices please.

I'm so glad we found this spot. Excellent sushi, seriously. Atmosphere is really nice. Kind of a diamond in the rough "aka Everett" The Cowboy Steak Roll, Paradise Roll and the Veggie Vegas Roll were 5 out of 5. Highly recommend eating here, you will definitely not regret it and most likely find yourself a new delicious Sushi restaurant.

My first time getting suchi, but I brought a seasoned veteran and this was his highest recommended. It 100% was worth the hype. There crunchy rice roll was amazing and so was everything else. Food delicious, presentation great as well. Guess you could call me a sushi fan now. I will definitely be back.

Some of the most unique flavors I have found as far as sushi goes. Also, they have a fantastic selection of adult beverages. I absolutely recommend the Monkey Brain as a starter and the Kiss of Fire roll. The flavors are very fresh and surprisingly delicate. Definitely my go to sushi spot!

Food was pretty good! Price was alright, depending on what you ordered. Service was pretty disappointing. The restaurant closes at 8pm and we were being rushed to complete our order as soon as they sat us at 7:25pm

The black dragon roll & tempura ice cream is very yummy :) they have coke products, priced just like any other sushi place. The waitress was very nice. It's a smaller place so it's good for singles or small groups

Still better than most sushi in the area, but they're slipping a bit. This used to be our favorite sushi place, but we were left unimpressed after our last visit. The size of their rolls shrank during COVID and the service is very slow & forgetful. We used to rave about their Monkey brain, but it was significantly smaller and tasted fishy this time. The dasher orders also seem to take priority over the people in the seats and it's never a good idea to sweep up while people are trying to eat. I prefer my sushi without an extra dusting of dirt. The restaurant floor was dirty, but it looked like it had been there a while and should have been swept before opening for the day.

Absolutely delicious! The Escolar was mouth watering. The service was amazingly fast. Nice little joint on Colby that you don't want to miss.
