We visited with our daughter for a drink and a bite to eat, the service and food was really good, it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the views as people walked, sailed and paddle boarded past. Such a lovely way to pass an hour. While we were there a group of women on a birthday celebration arrived and unfortunately started abusing the staff, the manageress quickly arrived and gave them a stern warning about their behaviour, advising they would not be served any more drinks. Sadly two of the women escalated the situation and were even more abusive to the manageress. I take my had off to her for the way she handled the situation, most of the women left leaving the two abusive ones and the manageress patiently stood and waited for them to leave while they abused and photographed her. Really handled the whole situation very well, and then apologised to all the customers. A++

I didn't like my cheese burger. The meat was too boring. The fries and coleslaw were nice though. It took quite a while to get our food so definitely don't go if you're in a rush.

WOW! Gluten Free & Vegan options, that taste unreal. So pleased to have found this place - no more dreading going out for pizza and having to order a salad, whilst everyone else tucks into a delicious pizza. Thank you for bothering to put the effort into creating a decent Pizza for GF & Vegan/Dairy Free customers! Wait staff on our table also V good.

The place is nice. I like the location on the quay and the general vibe of the restaurant. The staff was nice and the food was good. We had a big pizza and it was good value for money. I recommend it!

Lovely pizza on the quayside. As you will see from my reviews I love pizza so when out with family at Exeter quay I took the opportunity to visit On the Waterfront to taste their locally famous dustbin lid pizzas. I ordered the salami and pepperoni which came out in about 20 mins and was perfect. Lovely dough and just the right amount of toppings. The restaurant is just on the quay and has great views. Staff are friendly and the place is great value. Highly recommended.

A lovely place on the Quay in Exeter. Nice atmosphere, and the food options were plentiful. Food came out quickly, but they did get my friend's order wrong and then charged us twice for it on the bill. All was resolved in the end but could have been easily avoided. It's a nice dining experience overall with a decent price point. I would recommend as a stop from shopping in the centre.

Food was gorgeous! I’ve never had a pizza like the ones we did, jam packed with flavour and toppings as it should be and the cheese was dreamy. An abundant variety on the menu as well. Furthermore, the bathrooms are state of the art!

Great place to go on a sunny day, as the wine list is great and the white wine we had was in the right temperature. Pizza was unexpectedly good, and we chose half half which was very well cooked. Tables were sticky, needs a little bit more attention on cleaning the surfaces as well as the cutlery which had marks from previous food and we had to ask replacement. However, the service was friendly.

Set in the Stunning Exeter Quay, where there has been extensive regeneration (of the whole area) which is now looking fantastic. The repurposing of the traditional quay side buildings brings another level to these establishments. I managed to book On The Waterfront through Google itself which was really quick and efficient. The restaurant has stunning decor, which is massively enhanced by the use of the original 19th century warehouse architecture. The restaurant specialises in pizza and this is predominantly the menu options. The service was friendly, although not entirely attentive as we would have enjoyed another round of drinks. Our serving staff did change multiple times as well leading us to be unsure about a tip as there was no stand out service received (this also was not because of the restaurant being busy, as at the time we ate the restaurant was about half empty) The pizza was tasty but again it was 'just' pizza (in quotations because this is their niche and they are good at it). The atmosphere was great, really nice place to go for special occasions.

Was a little unsure about visiting due to the mix of reviews but glad we did. Booked a table at 4pm so it was quite quiet part way through our meal. Pizzas were delicious, we had curly fries and coleslaw too, which were also delicious. We had 2 pizzas between 2 adults and an 8 year old which was plenty! Service was good. Would visit again. Thank you!

Great range of starters and pizza toppings, plenty of vegetarian/vegan options among both. No seafood pizza toppings though which was surprising. They can do some GF pizzas too, I really enjoyed my Silciliano with extra pulled chicken. Really helpful staff who took care to double check allergens which was really appreciated.

The food served here is pizza and had many varieties. You should try their 30 inch pizza if you go in a group. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great.

Good prices, app is working really good, so there will be no problems with placing an order. Cocktails are nice, pizza is really fantastic, especially with some extra cheese.

Nicely situated on Exeter Quay under the arches of an old warehouse, this bar and restaurant is a little quirky but well appointed. A good variety for of pizzas look very good and for the hungry there are oversize ones available. We had the burgers which were served with chips and a small pot of red slaw. The chips were great but the beef pate was lacking seasoning, although palatable. An extra star is awarded for providing heinz tomato ketchup in a bottle rather than those horrible plastic sachets which are hard to open without coating your fingers in the stuff. (I usually deduct a star for places providing sachets as it smacks of putting profit before customer care.)

The food options for vegetarians were not great. 2 of three dishes ordered tasted very good (the pictured ones), even if we never understood why the chips were called "Chinese". The bean dish was very bland and took way too long to arrive. We were hardly seen by waiters despite the place not being full. I understand this place used to be really good and would in other times be busting in such a sunny evening, but seems like the managerial change and the pandemic hit it hard as it was only half full. The place looks great and clean, though, being comfortable and with plenty of space. Maybe it just needs more staff and to substitute some things in its menu.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Went for a daughter's birthday as we were in Exeter at the nearby clip n climb. Didn't really think through our ordering as the dustbin lid sized garlic bread was, as it's name implied, enormous. 2 of us probably didn't need to order our own starters - although they were delicious. The pizzas (and 1 nacho) we ordered for our mains were lovely and again quite large. The provision of boxes for what we were unable to eat was most welcome and 1 meal turned into 2 with the leftovers consumed the next day. Food was nice, beer was nice and the place had a buzz and nice feel to it. Service was also good.

Very well located by Exeter Quay, very friendly staff, but food was just okay. We came here for lunch after a short visit in Exeter. We were looking for places with nice views, as we are kind of like visitors to the area. This restaurant is very located in the popular quay side area. There is a public parking station very nearby, which is convenient. Most of the seatings are inside - a little not ideal, as we couldn’t see the nice view, but it was a bit cold to sit outside. The staff was very friendly and the wifi was fast, as we needed to finish some work online. The food was just okay - a bit lower than my expectation. We had a pizza, a burger, some pork belly side dish and and bean pancake. The pork belly was very chewy and the pizza was a bit too oily. The drinks were also not that great. Anyway, come to visit on the summer day with some nice quay views!

Epic 30 inch long pizzas and the dustbin lid garlic bread was amazing. Vegan and gluten free options were really tasty. Thanks so much to the staff for their care and great service

Lovely attentive staff. We had booked a table for Saturday night and so were sat inside and had table service. The sharing nachos and garlic pizza dustbin lid were HUGE! We had also ordered mains before seeing said starter sharers, we were mostly full on the starters so barely had half our mains which was a waste of food. We took some pizza and curly fries home in a takeaway box. We know for next time to either just have sharers and tapas or just have a main. The pizza is epic!! It's a lovely dough! Another vote for the crispy duck pizza! Was delish. We hope to return when next in the area.

Pizza seemed to taste odd and we looked at the base and it seemed to be mouldy as there were green spots all over it. Took it back and asked what it was and was told it was a chemical reaction and from the pans they cook it in. I would under stand if these dots were black from the pans but not green ! It should not be normal to have a green base for a margarita pizza. No refund was given and staff were rude about it when questioned. Not impressed.

Delicious pizza, handy option of having different toppings on each half, friendly staff. It was humid and stuff inside so we sat outside for the lovely view, though not all the tables benefit from heat lamps lol. (No regrets!!)

After entering we got shown to our seats, whilst being seated the to menu was on my the table, The waiter was good, excellent knowledge of the drinks, food took a while to come but that was expected after ordering as much as we did. Food came out was absolutely amazing. Took a while to take the empty plates and baskets but overall really good

Very nice pizza, lovely gentlemen serving and gorgeous setting. We were missing plates and cutlery and had to wait a little while to call someone to obtain them. The ambiance there was lovely and I've heard great things about the place. Unfortunately Ali oli never arrived and was being freshly made, I think I may need to go back if only to taste that!! We sat in a wonderful spot inside the door, the view was out onto the water and we could watch people drifting past. It wasn't idea that a family of 9 came and stood at the side of our chairs trying to get a table at peak time. Several waiting staff were serving so couldn't stop so they didn't ask them to move which was disappointing given the covid standards throughout the rest of the establishment were great. Staff wore masks, they were happy to help when available, drinks were served quickly and were on ice, perfect! I think another visit is required and a second meal sampled...with the Ali oli that we missed out on.
