Great selection on the menu, lots to choose from. Portions were very generous and tasty. Bubbly and chatty waitress, though had to wait a little while to order our desserts as it was quite busy. Really nice place to eat, would go again.

I recently took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday as it rates highly on Google. The restaurant looks good and the staff were very cheery and helpful. Unfortunately, they were let down by their extremely bland food. As you can see in the pics, the food looks good, it just doesn't live up to expectations. The food really didn't taste of anything (I don't have covid), I added salt to my meal and even the salt couldn't rescue it. Vegetarian food can be very flavorful if prepared well. I usually finish off my wife's meals as she's not a big eater, but I couldn't stomach it this time. In fact, I didn't finish my own. I had hoped to find a restaurant we could frequent that has tasty food and caters to vegetarians, unfortunately we'll have to keep looking.

After years of meaning to check Herbies out, my husband and I made it for lunch over the half term. As far as service and atmosphere, this place is wonderful. We felt well taken care of without being hovered over and the restaurant itself is very cozy and in an easy to get to location. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, this is a good option. The food was good overall but we found aspects of the meal more on the bland side, especially the hummus. The focaccia was delicious and the star of the meal.

Stopped in here for an early dinner. Friendly service and amazing food. Veggie vegan & gluten free options. Good selection of wine & beer too. Open in the day to 3 then open again for dinner at 6. Make sure you book a table, it's very popular and deservedly so.

Made a beeline for Herbies as soon as we arrived in Exeter and weren't disappointed. Very popular place certainly at lunchtimes and we were lucky to get a table having not booked. Later customers were turned away and told to try again later. Really good food and service especially considering it was so busy.

Brilliant vegan restaurant! We came here for a wedding meal and the staff really went above and beyond! Everything was really amazing and the food was incredible, delicious and served quickly too. The guys are clearly really passionate here and it shows! Thank you for everything and we enjoyed our leftovers just as much the next day!

Decided to visit here as one of us had amazing memories of the place from her time a politely undefined number of years ago when she was at University, and it absolutely did not disappoint. We had the dipping platter to start which was a nice selection of dips and warm fresh pittas and foccacia plus some red and green olives. They were all great but the salsa verde was a particular highlight, I was tempted to ask for a jar of it to take away! For mains I chose the jackfruit, beet and bean burger which was great paired with the smoky tomato relish. I had the salad (look at me adulting like a real adult!) which was actually three in one, a green salad, a lentil and carrot mix and a colour slaw. I chose the salad the instant I heard you got all three of the daily selections and the combo made it far more special than any salad I've had before when dining out and more interesting than the jacket wedges option for me. Finally for desert was the chocolate torte with biscotti crumb and amaretto and ice cream. The torte was rich but was balanced by the crumb and the ice cream. Every course was generous and delicious, leaving us all stuffed full and I can't fault the value this place gives as it was mid priced but high quality (and portion size). I won't be hesitating to go back, especially as every course had multiple options I struggled to choose between.

Simply outstanding!! Just ate here on a recommendation, food is out of this world good, the 2 waitresses that served us were so attentive and professional! The only downside if you can even call it that was me and my partner both ordered Buddha Bowls and 2 side's and we didn't even have room for dessert and we both had our sights set on the sticky toffee pudding but we over did it on the side's hahaha, oh well there's always next time 😉. Keep up the good work and a very special thanks to the 2 waitresses 😊

I would recomend herbies to any one with out a doubt. It is a vegetarian restaurant. Good menu. Lovely atmosphere music was just background level so we could still talk even with the speaker above our table. But most importantly the food was amazing. I'm not a vegetarian but my daughter is, we had only heard good reviews from people who had been, so thought we would give it a go. We shared a chips and dips to start which we thoroughly enjoyed. Then we both had the Kari Sayur. Which was amazing !! I even ate what my daughter couldn't finish as it was that good. We both left feeling very full and happy. Great little place which does so many things better than most.

This vegetarian restaurant was on my list for while. But when I finally made it here not everything excited me. What I enjoyed: the food is fresh and made from the scratch. The wine and drinks list is smart featuring of local/organic/sustainable producers. What could be better: I had a TLT ciabatta and for £12 I expected more. The tofu slice was super thin, the bread was crusty but not warm. There were a couple of tomato slices , a bit of salad and a bit of mayo in the sandwich, that’s it. Plus small portion of potato wedges on the side. The place is located in an old English house with all the rustic atmosphere in. All in all a good place to visit

Delicious food and lovely staff. Don't hesitate to book. That bloke that gave the bad review about tastless food must have had issues! It was lovely (and I'm very much not a vegan). Enjoyed every mouthful. Good wine too.

My first visit to Herbies and it definitely won't be my last! I ordered the nachos and was not disappointed, portion was absolutely enormous! I tried my best but couldn't quite finish it, so I will definitely be back to try again! My friend ordered the falafel wrap which looked amazing, she enjoyed it very much. It's a lovely atmosphere inside, but not a big place, so I would definitely recommend booking a table if possible. Excellent service too, staff were brilliant.

Really nice place. We went on a Wednesday and expected it to be quiet, but it was quite busy! A bit on the expensive side but great food and service. Nice for a treat.

We came here tonight after a while wondering why we don't come here more often! It's amazing value for money for the incredible food and decent portions you receive. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing with lots to look at. You don't feel cramped or in a busy environment at all. We took so long deciding what to have as there were so many options. We will definitely be coming back to try more of the amazing menu and support the people that deserve it and not the big chain. Cannot fault our experience.

Absolutely in love with the food here. When i visit next to Exeter, this would be my go to place. I ordered the warm Salad from mains and fruit crumble desert served with custard! Most of the items on the menu are vegan. Good quantity, delicious food, cozy environment & friendly staff. A big recommendation for all food lovers

This was such a lovely experience. I am sad that we don't live here so I can return. The food was wonderful and the staff were just great. I got the sense that the staff know their customers and take time to build relationships - sorry that we can't join in with this!

Herbies always hits the spot if I want a really good, nutritious & tasty meal. Reasonably priced considering everything is homemade & great portion sizes. Cosy, relaxed environment with lovely staff- a really nice place to go for a solo treat, in a couple or with friends. Amazing to have quite a few vegan options for puds & lots of GF options. It ticks all the boxes & best of all: independently owned :)

Delicious! I had the Buddha bowl full of lots of different yummy things. Husband was very impressed with the smokey tofu BLT. And the kids were happy too - they actually have a kids menu. Wonderful!

I came for lunch with my husband and son. Our trip to Exeter was originally based on wanting to visit a local junk food place so this was a change of plan. I have heard of Herbies for years but never visited before. We will be back. We all loved what we ordered, the special summer pie , curry and pizza with milkshakes and smoothie. The portions were very generous. Good value for money, friendly staff and we didn’t wait long at all considering the restaurant was full.

We went on lunch time and below is our experience of that: - 2/10 decor, we tried many vegan places before and we never come across something so uninterested like this place. I was also surprised that tables and some chairs are plastic. - 3/10 customer service. We ordered after being seated around 20min later and waited over 50min for food,( drinks arrived earlier but my hot chocolate wasn’t hot and we had to ask for water again)the place had 3 customers before us. No questions from waitress if anything we need and if we enjoying the food. Waitress was pleasant but not engaging at all. - 3/10 food, we had lasagne and bean burger. Burger was ok but just ok, lasagna was tasteless, salt and pepper did not save the food. Wedges were under cooked. Overall experience was poor to say at least.

Been to Herbies twice and have been blown away by the food each time. I had the warm vegetable salad and it was delicious - food came out super fast as well even though it was a busy Friday night! Staff are very friendly too. Great place :)

I hope Herbies stays open for years to come. Have heard attempts at selling the restaurant were unsuccessful therefor you are continuing to conduct business as normal. Visited for the first time and must say it is fantastic to receive a Vegan Three-course meal! I love the decor, waiters are very kind. High quality food; seems like chefs put thought into the plates before they are brought out. Very classy and quaint place; no stuck up attitudes. It is nice to be surrounded by people with alike diets (refraining from meat.) Quiet street location. I felt like I was in an old film. What tasty food and very generous portions!! Muchly recommend Herbies <3

We had a table for 4. The food, atmosphere and service was excellent. All four of us were super impressed with our 3 courses. Great value too. The fact that the restaurant was really busy by 7.00pm on a Wednesday night, speaks volumes. We will be back again soon.

I can highly recommend the Buddha Bowl, not to mention the fruit crumble and red wine. Very reasonably priced. Great food, lovely staff. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Went to Herbies for dinner tonight and we were genuinely blow away by the hospitality, food and atmosphere. Everything was spot on from the moment we tried to book a last minute table (thank you for squeezing us in) all the way through till the end. The place is immaculate, the food delicious and the team incredible. Well done guys, we will definitely be back!

Great food, great for vegetarians, (I'm not veggie myself but the food was superb all the same) incredible dessert. Our only criticism was that we were told in advance to leave at a set time but then had no further warning to leave until the bill was brought to us while we were eating dessert. I don't mind leaving at a set time, but it would have been nice if we were given a reminder about times especially when we were allowed to order dessert and coffee which came literally about 5 minutes before we were asked to leave. Would recommend, but keep an eye on your clock!
