One of fairhope's oldest eating establishments. Definitely worth stopping in to see why it has stood the test of time. Great food. Excellent service. Atmosphere is peaceful. If you leave here hungry. It's your own fault

We stop by the other day, have a bite of breakfast after Mass. They are located next to a small park, when we arrived there were several people sitting out on the benches, however they were just enjoying the morning sun, not waiting for a table. We asked for a table for two and were immediately seated, yay! We had the basic breakfast, eggs, sausage, toast…. And I had a couple of pancakes!! Our meals were terrific!! The wait staff was efficient, prompt, and checked on us often! Thanks Julwin’s for a great start to our day!

Small and cute spot. Loved both dishes. I had the pancake, eggs and bacon, good dish. Pancake is definitely homemade. My husband had the corned beef hash bowl with fried eggs and it was delicious. Definitely a place I will visit again.

We travel and have occasion to visit Fairhope regularly but this was our first visit to Julwin's. The restaurant was not overly crowded on the Friday morning of our visit and we were shown directly to our table. Jessica took our drink orders, returned promptly with our coffee and took our food orders. Our breakfast selections were prepared exactly as ordered and were delivered in a reasonable period of time. Though there were a couple food items which were not perfect, we were pleased with our visit overall. Finally, thank you to Jessica for her attentiveness and for making our visit pleasant and enjoyable! We will be return customers.

A decade and a half ago I brought my grandbabies and wife to this restaurant and swore I would never return. Then the food was very bad and the service is horrible. I was waiting for an appointment and forgot about this restaurant and walked in. I realized my mistake automatically and almost turned around. I decided to give it another shot. Big mistake service is horrible and the food was even worse than a decade and a half ago. If you’re not gonna make quality food or have a great service what is the point of opening a restaurant or staying in business.

What a wonderfully quaint little restaurant in the heart of downtown “hometown” America. The food quality was truly above average which always enhances flavor. I strongly urge anyone in the area to dine here for a wonderful, no-frills, good-food experience.

Fairhope really has a slice of NOLA's french quarter, and it can be found in Julwin's Shrimp and Grits! The wait was not bad and our waitress was very friendly. We have been to NOLA twice and these were the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the spinach omelette and the kids crushed the chocolate chip pancake bears. Only complaint for atmosphere was the booth we were seated at slants down on one side so my kid was leaning against me as she ate. We were briefed about it before sitting, but if you know its a problem, stick a wooden plank under one side. If we find ourselves back in town, this will be a mandatory stop.

Unfortunately we had a pretty bad experience. Once we ordered, it took our waitress/the kitchen 30+ minutes to let us know they did not have biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. Once we got our food, it was "eh" at best. On par with mediocre chain diners. There are definitely better places in Fairhope for a good breakfast.

Service employees were not friendly nor did they ask if our breakfast was okay. Seems like they did not care at all. Food was not good for the price paid. I enjoy the Biscuit King over today's experience.

This is all the South eats in one place. Came here for the Shrimp & Grits after reading the rave reviews. Didn't know Gouda cheese was in there ! Yum to the max. We only waited a few moments to be seated and this place was packed. Service was great. My only issue with this place was the weak coffee. Barely had taste at all and we couldn't figure out why.

A classic country breakfast done right. The service was impeccable, the coffee was pretty darn good, and the scrambled eggs were fluffy and moist. This is a fabulous place to go for much needed comfort food hug.

My mom and I both got breakfast here for the first time in several years. It was very good. Our waiter Austin was above and beyond great. Their bathroom needs some amendments made. They're a busy restaurant to have such a tiny and only one restroom

Excellent food and service! I live in ATL and have visited Fairhope since I was a kid. Not sure why I didn't find Julwin's sooner. I visited for the 1st time in early September and now as of today have visited twice since then. Eggs are scrambled to perfection and the Shrimp and Grits are DELICIOUS! I will be back when I am back in the area.

Overly smoked bacon that had that floppy texture to it, re- hydrated hash browns that were nothing special, but locally sourced eggs. At least they had half and half for the coffee and smuckers jelly for the toast lol The server.... Well let's just say I was attended to well enough. Just a little local restaurant with relatively average food. You found this review helpful. Click like

My lunch companion had the cranberry chicken salad and said it was great. I had country steak and mashed potatoes. I was disappointed to see all the black pepper added to the potatoes. I don’t understand why chefs do that. Pepper to suit can be added at the table. I couldn’t eat them. Service was slow for the small amount of people who were in there.

Extremely friendly staff. Took above extra care and caution for a guest with allergy requirements. The breakfast was simple but delicious and came quick. Menu items are standard breakfast fare, "like mama made it." The restaurant was cozy and clean. Definitely recommend.

Excellent breakfast and friendly wait staff. I had shrimp & grits and biscuits & gravy. Both were great and I like how they cut up fresh sausage patties for the gravy. Shrimp tasted fresh and the bbq sauce was good. Abby had the traditional pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. She says “super yummy!” The perfect small town place to have an enjoyable breakfast. 👍🏻

Julwin's is a Fairhope institution for a reason. If you're in the mood for Southern cooking, this is the place you're looking for. The staff is friendly, and even when there's a wait, things move quickly.

While in town, and used to live here awhile, we always ate breakfast here. Today the sausage was not good and my food served cold. Disappointing but will try them again.

Food here is consistently good. Had the shrimp and grits. I enjoyed the sausage dice and the spicy Viper cheese mixed in with the grits giving it a nice kick. Shrimp could have been seasoned a tad bit more and side of hash browns were a littleto salty for my taste.

Absolute Best Local Place to eat in town. Guaranteed to have more locals in their year round. It’s a go to place for great pancakes, grits, omelets and great selection of lunch choices. A couple of our favorites are the Ahi Tacos and the Double Dipped French Fries! David Jewett, the Owner is often out on the floor. Very personable and always a joy to see him when we go in. Highly recommend it as a place you take out of town guests to get some good old home feeling cooking.

We went there for breakfast on a Tuesday around 9. It wasn't busy. I got a short stack with sausage patties. Both really good and thought those were one of the best sausage patties I've ever had. My partner got the country fried steak. It was good too. The service was very friendly and fast.

I went with a large group of family on Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago. We arrived around 9:30 am for breakfast. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress knew the menu well and she did an excellent job. I had the corned beef hash, and it was really good. A few others had the seafood omelette. I tried a few bites, and it was phenomenal. You won’t go wrong with a seafood omelette, hash browns, and toast. Highly recommend.

We enjoy finding that local breakfast restaurant while on a trip, and Julwins fits that bill. Everything was great: food, style of the restaurant, and the service. No problem getting a table. Someone always checking on our coffee refills. Eggs were cooked exactly the way we liked. Chicken fried steak was tender and delicious.
