Last year in March of 2021, I was at the mall with my two year old little boy. I had parked far away in the parking lot to keep my vehicle from being dinged by other cars. The weather wasn’t particularly bad so I didn’t mind the walk. We went and did our shopping and I got my son a Duck Donut for him to try. We walked back out to the car, and I buckled him in his car seat. I no more get in the drivers seat when a tree came down on my vehicle. It hit both sides of my car and the roof. It was traumatizing to say the least and if I had been any slower in putting him the car, it could have hit us. I contacted mall security and my vehicle had to be towed. I had to pay out of pocket for my deductible and my insurance company paid the rest of the bill to cover the $6500 worth of damages done to my vehicle. We are almost a year from the anniversary of this event and the mall has still not paid this money. Horrible management that doesn’t give straight answers. I will never visit again and will have to work with an attorney to be compensated.

Very clean and typical mall. Safe and secure for sure as we saw security and police presence on a Tuesday afternoon. Wasn't crowded, thank God because I have wild 2 year old running around.  A few store locations were empty, a couple food locations were closed or empty. Obviously still affected due to covid closures last year. I was looking for a sporting goods store to get a gym bag and didn't quite find what I was looking for. Would have also loved to take Kyle to a kid's store, but that wasn't there either. We didn't get lunch there either because we didn't quite like the options. We basically just killed an hour or so walking around and playing on the soft play structures. Very nice mall and I hope it recovers to fill all locations.

This is a beautiful and huge shopping mall with several stores, department stores, specialty shops and restaurants. It is sparkling clean and has both Macys and Dillards. There are also several areas to sit down and rest in the mall, if you should need to or want to. This mall is located right on Rt18, very close to a lot of other shopping plazas too.

Its a pretty decent mall that is on one floor and the only mall around this area! Nice food court too. Parking is crazy tho, they need more parking in the front of the mall. It's kinda congested.

With the decline of malls in America this has a clean and full offering for those who enjoy shopping. We tried rolled ice cream and bubble tea from Bubble House.

At this point Summit Mall isn’t what it used to be it’s starting to be like Chapel Hill Mall all over again. The Starbucks keeps closing and opening it’s close now again forever. I rather drive all the way to a different mall that has a better staffing system because this mall isn’t very clean. And the worst part is the food court is a small doesn’t even have any dessert options at all I feel like this mall is only for a quick stop if you have to buy something real fast at this point it’s nothing to enjoy as other malls in Ohio. I’ve been to several malls within an hour distance of this mall they have better upkeep, staffing, And also Not so many non-entitled employees I think that they’re better than you. I know that these employees want you to buy something but you don’t need to harp on somebody to buy something it’s rude and disrespectful especially to the window shoppers that don’t have any money. I’m not going to buy some thing if you’re going to fill in so entitled to follow me around to see if I’m actually going to get some thing.

I'm gonna be straight up and say this as my formal review of Summit Mall. When I came home from serving in the Army my first job was working security at Rolling Acres Mall. This was when gang violence and racial tension was thick. I worked this position the last few years of the 90's before getting out of there. Now 20+ years later and we have lost several malls / shopping areas since those days. Summit mall is next if you don't start letting the police do their jobs. Support law enforcement! Raise your kids correctly!! This goes for all people together. However, in Northeast Ohio every single shopping center that has gone away : Akron Square, Rolling Acres, Chapel Hill, etc... All have gone out of business due to the disruptive activity of young black males. Prepare to be next.

I found a new shoe store in Summit Mall. Ladies, SHOE DEPOT ENCORE has a sweet sale going on. I found brown casual and the perfect little white accent purse at an excellent price. Remember, winter dances are coming, so shop now and save BIG!

We come to Summit Mall pretty frequently, as they are one of the closest malls to us and have an Apple Store. This mall is never overcrowded and is always clean. They have in mall security and great parking. Restrooms have always been clean and they so have family family rooms with changing areas for babies. They also have a play area for small children in the middle of the malls shopping area. Great food court with delicious food selections!!

This mall was nice and clean but small. Not a lot of stores, not a lot of variety to shop from. Kind of disappointing! The play area was tore apart and left that way, not exactly safe for the kids? They had safety cones out like that was going to do anything, kids were moving and throwing them.

Way better than our mall. It felt full of life. This location has many stores to browse, a large food court with several selections to choose from, and a play area in the middle for the kids.

The parking lot is absolutely trashed! There is food packaging all over and trash everywhere!!! Obviously people are eating their curbside food out in the parking lot and throwing their trash out the window and no one is picking it up! There are no trash cans where people can put their stuff either. Someone is going to have to clean that mess up!!!!

The mall itself is pretty nice! The food court had some good options. The stores themselves were interesting and well maintained. They had some local to Ohio brands and stores which I appreciated. The mall itself was clean and pretty chill.

As far back as I recall this mall it was one of the bigger malls. With endless shops and things to do. Plus the storefronts are always changing. So if they don't have it now, odds are they 110% guaranteed to have it or something just like it in a day or two. My favorite spot in the whole mall, Besides Sephora.... Is the donut shoppe pictured. Will return.

Great place and the only thriving mall around Akron area now, with food court and some restaurants there with their own store front. Macy's and Dillard's are the 2 main stores operating there for long time without ever going under. It's by the west market street, at a busy and good area, and close to some big box stores down the road.

I’m disabled and need a wheelchair to get around large places. I called the mall security to get a wheelchair and found out they only have 1-2 wheelchairs for the whole mall. The mall security personnel were incredibly kind and offered to call me when it was available but having 1-2 wheelchairs for a mall with 100+ people in it at any given time is absolutely unacceptable and discouraging. The owners of this mall need to do better for their handicapped customers and provide more resources. There is no excuse and I will not be returning here until basic accommodations are met for those with disabilities. Do better.

Summit Mall has a large variety of places to dine and shop. The entrances and layout of the mall are abnormal and confusing. The majority of people who regularly visit this mall do not have common courtesy for others. A large amount of people were purposely not physically distancing themselves from others. Additionally, many people were not wearing protective coverings either, even though they are required in all public places. I recommend waiting until the coronavirus pandemic is less prominent to visit this mall again. Until the pandemic is mitigated, I would choose another mall close by to visit. Many other malls in the area do a better job enforcing required safety precautions to protect the health of all visitors.

Still our go-to for a great mall experience. Full of shops with a robust food court, you won't be disappointed. It seems malls are dying out, but Summit has kept its lively buzz. Plenty for the kids to do in the thoroughfare, great food court with generous selection, a big and beautiful sitting space in the middle and Starbucks is back! Parking never seems to be an issue and there are Many restaurants on the outside perimeter of the mall to choose from. Spend the day and support this mall to keep the landmark alive for years to come!

I used to love going to this mall but not so much anymore! No matter where you enter at you have all these people in the middle who rent spots that insult you! I have been told several times that they could "help me fix my face" or "fix my hair." This is absolutely ridiculous! I know it's all about the almighty dollar, so let's just rent those spots to anyone, but I guarantee you are losing more customers than those spots are bringing in. I would love to love shopping here again, but not as long as you have these people insulting people daily!

I'm never going back I'm tired of driving all the way there just to find out that they don't have any stores or products that I came for. For me personally it was a waist of time. Strongsville mall is where my money will be going.

I had a nice stroll around the stores, following my massage next door at Massage Envy, we all deserve them in our lives. If you're tired of pain and suffering, vI highly recommend their healing hands!

Their food court leaves little to be desired. I wish they had a Sarku Japan 🗾. The only redeeming quality about this store is that they have a Box Lunch. I don't go there for anything else. Even Auntie Anne's taste like dishwater and the employees have such nasty attitudes.

  • 1/5 Grog V. 1 year ago on Google
The Torid jewelry piercing place needs to get management there that has a clue and some respect for both customers and employees. What a joke. Hopefully they don't stay in business much longer and the good employees find a better place to work.

Summit Mall first opened in 1965 but has managed to stick around by modernizing and holding onto Macy’s and Dillard’s as anchor stores. Most of the focus is on clothing, but there are still a few stores selling sundry items. The food court has a decent selection of cuisine genera. There are low key private safety officers which seem to be enough to prevent the mall from becoming a gang hangout. The janitorial staff does a good job of keeping the property tidy. The only real negative I have noticed is there is always a peculiar objectionable sweaty chemical odor which seems to emanate from and permeate the vicinity of the Apple Store.

We went to American Eagle and the staff was amazing. Everything was super clean all over. My girlfriend lost her ID and the security guard found it for us. Super cold out so warmed up with food and drinks at the rail afterwards. Awesome time.

This is the last classic shopping mall in the Akron area and it still looks and feels good. It's clean, up-to-date and safe. The stores are stocked and there is a good variety of shops. There were a decent amount of people in there for a weekday late afternoon. I like it!

  • 3/5 Feralfranny (. 1 year ago on Google
The mall has some good selections, and finally Starbucks came back which is a plus. But the issue here is safety, the security is lacking. If your a women be very careful walking around the mall alone. My partner was attacked here three years ago inside Spencer’s, security took ten minutes to come in and they were riding Segway’s. Plus I don’t think the security guy could even open a jar Mayo. Not trying to be mean. So be careful ladies. Some people in the mall are there to follow women. Stay alert.

Really nice mall. I saw police/security there. Huge with plenty of stores. Really small food court tho, I think it was only 3-4 restaurants

  • 4/5 J. M. 1 year ago on Google
pretty decent mall, one of the better ones in the area. lacking in the food court, but it makes up for it with easy parking, a nice array of stores, and being simple to navigate. there are also a few decent food choices nearby so you can’t be too upset. never too crowded, and nice employees in each shop i stopped in! definitely a mall to stop in if you’re in the area.

It's been a while since I've gone to a mall. I love that a few of the stores have their own entry from outside the mall. Good food court, and must have Auntie Ann's pretzels!

I was just in Macy’s getting ready to check out. I approached a beautiful young lady who was willing to help me. I was getting ready to pay her when this other rude woman who also worked there as a cashier interrupted me. Now unbeknownst to me I was using my mom’s temporary Macy’s card. She then interrupts by telling me that the card is good for only ten days. Which I truly didn’t know. When I say this lady was rude as ever. ( I’m being nice right now). Also the look on the other young cashiers face I feel even made her uncomfortable as she was helping me today. Let me say this to the disrespectful, rude cashier. Now I understand that cashiers have a job to do as well to protect Macy’s name and reputation. When you are interacting with your customers please be careful of your tone and how you speak to your customers because someone else would have been so nasty to you that your joy would have been taken today. Next time you interrupt someone who has and is continuing to have a great day! Remember that what you put out in this beautiful world will come back to you. Always remember to give off positive energy. I’m still shopping in Macy’s as a matter of fact! Because I have a Joe concert to attend…

Summit is a surprisingly healthy mall. In a world of dead and dying shopping malls, Summit in Akron has lots of customers walking around and buying stuff. There may be a few vacant stores, but I can’t remember. The Dillard’s and Macy’s are nice. The parking is good. It’s easy to get to.

I went to Macy's to pickup an order. Which they failed to deliver in a timely manner. Present was not there, I got a song and dance by clerk. The store shelves were empty. Looked like they were closing. No longer are we able to go to retail store and purchase anything. It is all done online. I am old school who like to see and touch what I am purchasing. I pray that we return to the previous day's, when the vaccine is disturbed. Merry Christmas

I came back in to buy at Banana Republic like the medium sized pajama pants for my mom and I, The medium sized sweatshirts for my sisters that they want for christmas, The 32x32 sized traveler pant, 2 Boxers and the regular sized long sleeve T-Shirt in 2 years ago.
