Excellent mall I can’t see why people say malls are dying.

Fantastic large mall I Metro East, Fairview Heights, IL.. Great food court. This mall has your typical large national department stores along with plenty of name brand clothing, shoe & sports stores. Also a pleasant surprise are the number of locally owned specialty stores.

The mall has deteriorated in quality and in quantity of shops in the past 5-10 years~a sign of the times as online shopping becomes more popular and convenient I guess. There have been a few isolated crime incidents here in the past 5 years involving guns also. I no longer go to this mall at night, even if there is something I need urgently. I'm also not fond of the layout-2 levels and sprawled out. There are no longer any quality sit down restaurants here--just typical mall food court take out. There isnt a movie theater here, but there's a great one nearby in O'Fallon. 🤷‍♀️ The current anchor stores are Macy's, Dillard's and JC Penny's. Of the 3, Dillard's is the best as far as customer service, high quality products, and variety. JC Penny's is a close second. The Macy's at this mall isn't worth your time--it's the worst I've ever been to in terms of selection, staff, and customer service. I recommend Macy's in St. Louis at The Galleria and also at West County Mall. That said, there is a strip mall next door with good stores and decent restaurants(Red Robin, Talbots, White House Black Market, Aveda salon, New Balance, Barnes and Noble, Kirkland's etc.)

The mall is a wonderful, clean place to hang out, take a walk, shop, or eat. Love their Christmas display every year! This mall is very up to date and well manicured, over all. Plenty of parking spaces. The stores are full and offer a nice variety. Macy's is still a favorite of mine. 😜

St. Claires Square has many restaurants, clothing stores, gift shops, jewelry stores, and some fun activities for the kids. The place remains super clean in most of its stores. Some staff who work at the stores can have really bad attitudes and act quite judge mental.

I used to love this mall but it has really went downhill. I really only go for Dillard's and Macy's anymore. Most of the other stores have closed or filled up with non chain junk stores. The restrooms are usually messy. I'm sad that there are not many options on the Illinois side of the river.

I miss the times when everyone loved going to the mall on a weekend and spend the day shopping, ESPECIALLY at Christmas. It is so run down now, limited stores, and feels like a flea market more than a place to enjoy.

Poor customer service and support, couldn’t find nor did they have much to offer. Most of the familiar stores have closed. Only stores that I went in and found most of what I was looking for was Dillard’s and H&M.

This mall is nothing like it used to be, malls are fading out these days but I go there to get shoes for my kids. Prices aren't bad at the shoe store i went to, Shoe Dept. Encore

The mall was my go to in the 70s as a kid. It's changed a lot but still a cool place to go sometimes.

  • 5/5 Truly B. 1 year ago on Google
Love all of the shops here VS, Dillard's JCP, both shoe stores but most importantly Roger's and Holland Jewelers! They turned my wedding rings back to BEAUTIFUL like the day that I 1st received them. Big thanks to Jim, Jenna and Sam for their help! They did not disappoint us at all!

I really want to root for this mall, but as with most malls across the country, it's dying a slow death. There are still several jewelry stores, sporting goods, clothing, and entertainment shops, but it has mostly dried up. Don't expect anything for the kiddos. All toy shops are gone. It's truly a shame but his mall is a product of the times and a shift in shopping habits and preferences.

Was at the mall today and the bathroom are horrible. Door dirty no toilet paper clogged toilets countertops gross. I can tell it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. Hardly anybody at the mall.

I have been in TikTok store several times with my grandchildren before they moved overseas. It is a brand new store and I received outstanding customer service every time. The day this unsatisfied customer was causing the problem, I was looking at the posters. I overheard the seller telling a young girl that she is sorry that the girl broke a toy and unfortunately she needed to pay for it. The girl did not talk back, after that the seller did not say anything to the girl. All of a sudden the older lady, I assume she was with the young lady, started shouting. The seller said there is a sign, which states not to play with those toys and if you break it you buy it. After that I did not hear anything from the seller. All I heard was the older lady shouting. Based on what I saw and heard , the buyer was being extremely rude and harassing the seller.

Love this shopping moll. Huge variety of shops and eating establishments. Plenty of parking available, sometimes you have to walk a ways but always find a space.

This is a nice place, for a while is seemed like it was slowly dying but I think it's recovering. I see quite a few new store and not too many empty ones. I'm still sad that sears is gone though.

Personally I really enjoy the fact that it’s not extremely packed like Galleria is on the weekends. It’s a nice mall and definitely has all the stores I love to shop at.

  • 4/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
It's kinda desolate. Sparse staffing. Everyone was really friendly or, amusingly mentally ill. Honestly, if they had a homeless person cleaning the tables in the food court I would have given five stars but, it was empty and utterly defiled; like, yuck. Still a bad day at the mall is still better than a great many things. Good effort y'all; except the food court tables like, seriously. Namaste.

  • 4/5 D. L. 1 year ago on Google
Still a great mall after all these years. Some of the stores were closed a bit early and the food court has always been on the smaller side, but it's kept in great shape.

Living in the Alton area I used to be able to go to Alton square Mall and find whatever it was I was looking for but now it is St. Clair square that I go to because it is still booming with a nice variety of places to shop as well as a wonderful food court, including my favorite, the dippin' dots. This is a good place to go for fun or if looking for something specific because there are a nice variety of stores to be able to put together whatever you have in mind.

  • 4/5 Melissa S. 2 years ago on Google
Some stores were closed, which is sad. But every store I personally visited had friendly and helpful staff. I do think it should be more accessible for those with physical handicaps. Escalators were the only way I saw to get to the second level. So anyone with a wheel chair, stroller, cane, or crutches would not be able to shop on second floor.

  • 2/5 Candi C. 1 year ago on Google
Surprisingly not well stocked. Customer service is poor. I know this used to be a rather upscale store. But it's really gone downhill over the years. Might as well go to JCPenney's.

  • 5/5 DARNOC 3 years ago on Google
Nice mall but im afraid its future is challenged. I miss the old days when malls were filled with families shopping and eating together. Back in the days mall's where so much busier.

Seem like the downfall of the mall when Sears closed!!! Was my favorite store to shop in and seemed it had more customers than other stores.so sad to see it close!¡

St Clair Mall is a great mall. I love to shop there at my favorite stores . They have a variety of stores for all types and ages. The food court is nice and there is a place for kids to play. Some of the stores have good sales too.

Sooooo I LOVE SHOPPING The only concern was My phone was going dead and I had to ask around a Outlet to charge my phone. Even Security really couldn't point me in the right direction. But he pointed me near the security office. Where there's a bench where I could sit down and charge my phone. The Mall needs More Phone Charging Stations .

I love the mall, it's so very sad that it's like a ghost town now. I don't expect to see it open another year. People got so used to doing online shopping because of the pandemic that they quit going out to shop, and now all these great stores are going out of business. We need to start visiting the stores again. Someday, we won't have one to go into, how sad. Has everyone forgotten how beautifully they decorate the malls at Christmas? I wish people would start going again so we could save it from closing.

I always enjoy this mall. Always open late and has great deals all the time. Reminds me of old school malls from 2005-2012

  • 3/5 Jenna D. 1 year ago on Google
I sorely miss this place in its heyday. The late 1990s and early 2000s were incredible! Now it's become a shell of its former glory. I wish a company would swoop in and bring back all the awesome stores and decorations of that time for nostalgia's sake! I bring my kids to the play place outside of JC Penney, but it really needs to be cleaned regularly. When they took the kids rideable train and Starbucks out, a lot of people stopped shopping there. If I had the money and investors, I'd bring it all back!

  • 4/5 Karen W. 1 year ago on Google
I rarely go to the mall anymore but I still enjoy walking around and watching people. While it may be more convenient to shop online, nothing replaces human interaction and handling merchandise.

It's so wonderful to see the mall this busy. I only wish 🤞 it was all the time. I took my daughter marissah. And me we had a awesome time together. Thanks bill barber.

Even during the Christmas rush the staff were helpful and took their time with each person. I know there had to be about 20 people in line and they made sure to take care of every single customer and not just rush them out of the store. Great customer service!

Glad this Mall is still open. Nice to go Christmas shopping there. Run into friends we haven't seen in awhile. Lot's of stores open and the food court is great to relax ,have a good meal after all that shopping. I sure hope it will stay around for a long time

This mall is ALIVE! I am sad to see so many have failed. Easy to reach from interstate 64. You can find a lot of different food and lots of stores. I find it amazing that they keep refreshing the mall and keep it going. New stores mix with the old standards. Especially with kids this is a good place to visit. There is a playground for little ones.

The food court during area was so beyond disgusting, the floors, table, trashcans...everything. I feel absolutely awful for the food places trying to run a business. It looks like years of disguist. And sadly this is after everybody was walking around actually trying to clean

  • 1/5 Tucker R. 3 years ago on Google
My friend and I purchased some food from one of the restaurants inside the mall and there was no place to sit and eat them. I know it’s probably because of Covid, but it would still be helpful to place singe person tables 6 feet apart or something. My friend and I ate food on top of one the trash cans because we did not have enough hands to carry both our food and the shopping bags. A short male employee wearing a red shirt and had black hair (was changing the trash cans around 3 pm on 1/2/2021) then proceeded to YELL at us saying that we cannot eat on the trash can lids. I understand if we were not allowed to but he had no reason to YELL at us. Should of told us in a much politer way. Plus there were no signs up or anything so how where we supposed to know? Totally ruined our day and we decided to leave right after that.

Patient, personable and informative. I'm glad I took the time 2 go n the store. Good SALES also. Don't ever remember perfume and cologne on sale @ 15% off. Great.
