This place has a great atmosphere and is consistently delicious. They have plenty of seating and a separate area from main dining room with a full seated bar. The menu has something for everyone and many for all. Zach, the owner, is very personable and a terrific chef. I have been eating here since they opened and so happy they are a well known staple in Farmington.

My wife and I were looking for a local place that we hadn't been to, and with a quick Google search, this place turned up. When we pulled into the parking lot, I made a joke to her that this place looks like one of those bar/restaurants that are frequently featured on the show "Bar Rescue". I guess if you know, then you know, haha. Beyond that, this establishment is very conveniently located and easy to find. I think in order to miss the giant sign they have on the side of the building, you'd have to be driving with your eyes closed and I wouldn't recommend that anyone do that. If you're familiar with the area, then you already know it's pretty busy, but because this establishment is located in a strip mall/shopping center area there will always be plenty of space and parking no matter how busy it gets. On that same note, I am not exactly sure how busy this place gets, because we ended up here on a Friday night (during peak dining hours) and we had zero issue and no wait getting a table. It kind of seems like most of the people that dine here are possibly regulars that come here quite often. The staff is made up of mostly younger folks which is fine, but they seemed to get flustered quite easily when it came to seating people, cleaning tables, and repeating the process. If you've never been here, one of the first things you'll notice is that it's kind of strangely setup. The door that you enter into, goes into an area that doesn't look like it would be a restaurant. Call me crazy but it kind of looks like a movie or TV set or something. Then if you travel through the hole in the wall to the other side, it looks like you're actually in a restaurant and there is a big old bar, and it just looks like a normal restaurant that you'd find anywhere. I'm not sure if that was the original space, and they knocked a hole in the wall and expanded to the area that we sat in or what. There is also a pretty sizeable outdoor patio seating area, but it's currently pretty chilly so it was empty, but just know that is also an option if your heart desires fresh air wafting through your hair while you're eating your meal. Speaking of a meal, let's talk about the food. That's why you're here after all isn't it? The food here is just okay, and by that I mean that it's nothing to write home, or anyone else about. A lot of the fare is that of something you'd find in a majority of Coney Island type restaurants pretty much anywhere, just with a higher price tag. In all honesty, my sandwich was perfectly fine, but it was no different quality or taste wise, than something that I can get up the street from here for probably five bucks less. When all is said and done, the place is clean (though I didn't visit the restroom so I cannot personally speak on that), our waitress was quick, kind and attentive, and over all things went fine. Would I stop in here to meet a friend for some appetizers and a few beers at the bar? Absolutely. Would I come here again for dinner on a Friday night (or any night)? Probably not, and that's okay, it is what it is. Maybe there is a reason why my Wife and I hadn't eaten here previously. I don't know. Either way... Cheers!

I'm gonna start this off by stating that I've been here once before and the food was fabulous. We came here July 19th for my anniversary with my girlfriend. She ordered a margarita that was pure tequila and ice, nothing else. We sent it back because it was not good at all. We ordered an appetizer that came 2 minutes before our meal so we didn't have time to enjoy it. She ordered pot roast that had no gravy with it. No biggie we got some on the side. I ordered fish and chips and it was hands down the worst I've had. The breading was soggy and tasted like burnt fryer oil. And my fries were cold. The only saving grace to the night was our waitress who was very pleasant and accommodating. I don't ask for much when it comes to a nice meal, but for 20+ a plate I have expectations. Especially when our first visit was phenomenal. Also if you're going to have children serving our meals please teach them to not hold the plates with their fingers in the food. That's disgusting. We will unfortunately not be returning.

Generally a really good restaurant with above average food. I ordered carryout on the day before the recent COVID shutdown. Had to wait 20 min past the estimated pick up time for my food. Unfortunately, that meant standing by the crowded bar. I should have waited outside, but was kept being told my food was almost ready. Patrons at the bar were shoulder to shoulder...not ideal for social distancing guidelines. Table service was well spaced, though. This setup is why the State is restricting in-restaurant dining--close personal interaction at the bar is the issue.

Loved the atmosphere and for sure loved the food. We visited on a Wednesday for drinks and lunch. They happened to have by one get one free appetizers. I had ordered the bruchetta and got the pot stickers to go along with it for free. It was a ton of food barely made a dent in the pot stickers. Food was very good and very reasonably priced. Drinks too!

Food is all pretty good, especially the macaroni and cheese with lobster. Place is always a bit dirty though. Napkins and food on the floor. Returned recently. Meatloaf was excellent although portion could be larger. Bartender Anne does a great job.

Always so delicious!! We’ve been coming here for years and it’s still one of our favorites. The staff is quick, attentive, and friendly no matter how busy they are and we have never had anything less than delicious meals. They have live music once in awhile and an amazing atmosphere :) Highly recommend!!

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly. Good: Food Bad: Did not see one person in management anywhere, but watched 6 teenagers belly up to the hostess stand the whole time we ate dinner. Ugly: There has been no server training at all. We were passed our plates at eye level from across the table with a thumb in our food.

I have eaten here several times. Each time I say I'm not going back but after last night's meal I will not return. A lot of their menu items are not fresh but prepackaged and frozen. I was told the cordib blue was made in house was clearly not the case. Not an honest establishment

I have eaten here several times and I have never been disappointed. Casual dining is the norm here. A varied menu has been created with fresh ingredients. No canned foods or soups here. You will enjoy many items or you will return for a favorite. I just posted a pic of the Cuban sandwich. Phenomenal. Not dry and very tasty. The chips are made on site from fresh potatoes. Can be somewhat loud during busy times but worth it.

Peterlin’s restaurant is excellent on all levels. First of all, it is quite unique in both variety and in the large number of food choices. There are many, many familiar favorites - from large salads to homemade meatloaf dinners, sandwiches, steaks, and seafood. Secondly, it is highly consistent. We visited two times in January 2022. The staff is polite and helpful, even with limited personnel, and they seemed cheerful in demeanor. My order of the same meal was exactly as delicious each time. My newest discovery has become my favorite - the “Portabella Wrapped Up.” Actually, it is the BEST WRAP (of any type) that I have EVER had in my entire life! It is served hot and fresh, and seems to stay that way even though it includes some shredded lettuces! Homemade, AND a well-loved personal creation of the owner - this delightful wrap is stuffed with freshly chopped “meaty” portabella mushrooms that have been sautéed with sliced red onion. A lovely aoli is poured over the mixture, which is tossed with some crisp chopped lettuce. The dish is finished off with drizzles of a balsamic reduction. It is wonderfully warm and filling…almost even too much to eat the second half (it’s that satisfying!) As you can see from my pictures, I couldn’t wait to dig in…and took several bites even before the photos! This meal is served with a side, and I always choose one of their fresh hot vegetables. If you look closely, you can find a pod stem or two on my crisply sautéed green beans. They are simply heavenly! None of this surprises me, as this gracious owner has been a chef for 35 years. It is completely obvious that he loves culinary work and values every customer. He was visibly present at both our recent visits, although he can just as easily be found creating dishes in the kitchen. The restaurant is consists of two large rooms, and is furnished with booths, assorted size tables, and even several high tops in the bar area It is usually more quiet in one room verses the other, but that just depends on the time of day customers visit; and they are busier in the evenings, and weekends. Parking is ample, as this gem is situated in a fairly large strip mall on Farmington Rd, just south of Nine Mile Rd.

Nice breakfast with a middle eastern spin plus traditional American fare. The coffee is very good and we were given a free sample of rice pudding (still warm). Yummy. The lunch menu looks good too. They dining area is bright and open. They plan to open the patio come spring - yay!

Zeina has done a great job cleaning up this location. It has been heartbreaking to see so many different restaurants here. Not only is it clean and beautiful, the food was fantastic! I did the bowl and put a little bit of everything in it. My husband did shwarma. So good. Very fresh and great flavors! Zeina provided a safe environment and flawless service. Welcome to the neighborhood!

They make really good shish tawook here. I've had a few different items but the shish tawook meal is one that stucks in my mind for days afterwards. Other nearby places with similar food haven't grabbed my attention like this place. You get a generous helping of food for the price. I'm looking forward to trying more on their menu, the breakfast items sound really good.

Called in a dinner order for the family after work. It was carry out and we dove right in when I got it home, thus no pictures I work in the "office" section of the Village Commons and was super excited to see this restaurant transformation and opening. Zeina had come by and dropped off some menus. There are some very intriguing items. We frequently eat Middle Eastern food, but loved the "Create Your Own Bowl". It was amazing! My kids ordered their usual: chicken shawarma sandwiches and enjoyed them very much. The hummous was really delicious. Zeina and her husband were super friendly and welcoming. This may just become a regular take-home dinner place for us!

Was out to lunch with my elderly in-laws (they're great folks.. no shade here..) and they have been here before, and were giving praise. I had the portobello wrap without balsamic, and sweet potato fries. They had a chicken wrap and regular fries that they split. We all left stuffed, and unable to finish our fries. I loved the creamy sweet dip for the sweet potato fries! Negatives: very loud and echoey. It was hard to hear them. Service was a bit slow, but was lunch rush, and they had a sign out that said they were short staffed that day, asking for applications. It's not really their fault. We were sat by a door that had a sign on it to use the other door, but it wasn't locked, and people were using it anyway. The in-laws got really cold as a result.

Ive had their food twice now. Both times I’ve gotten the pork chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was amazing both times. Their salads and soups have been great! At the moment this is probably the number one place I’m constantly thinking about. The only thing that kinda sucked was how loud the live performer was.

Good place to eat from appetizers to burgers and sandwiches to full dinners. Service was slow. Wait staff not experienced. Served one item at a time. Did not offer refills on iced tea or lemonade or coffee. Food was good.

I attended a retiree’s lunch. It was the first time I had ever been there. Everyone seemed to enjoy their lunch and the service and atmosphere was very good. I had a Philly Cheesesteak and honestly, it was not all that good. It was more like a roast beef sandwich, almost no peppers or onions visible and some of the beef tasted old and reheated. There was a portion at the end where it tasted like they used freshly made beef, and those last few bites were very good.

Excellent food with great service! Prices are reasonable. I enjoyed the quieter atmosphere vs the loud music in many restaurants.

  • 4/5 Rochelle D. 10 months ago on Google
Admittedly, the atmosphere was unimpressive. I chose an appetizer since I was new to the restaurant. The Southwest rolls were as good as any I'd tasted. I will comment on what I heard from the people in my party. The person who ordered the black and blue steak didn't care for the blue cheese on top. (I can see that.) But he liked his rare steak. It looked tasty, so I'd take his word for it. The people who ordered the fish and chips had a bit of a wait. However, the woman beside me thought the chips were cooked perfectly. I observed the golden battered fis, and it looked like it was worth the wait. I will definitely try the restaurant again on a less festive occasion.

Love this place. I gave 4 stars on service, but to be honest, they are short staffed. Other than that its clean and has great food. The cheesesteak spring rolls are easily my fav.

Currently sitting at the bar as I type this, but OMG the food! The prime rib in my husband's Philly Cheese Steak was incredibly flavorful and tender, he compared it taste wise to a Philly Cheese Steak purchased from a street cart in Philly. I got the Lobster Mac and it's rich, creamy, and flavorful. The chunks of lobster are like edible clouds that just melt in your mouth, it's devine. The service has been great. We were greeted quickly, given time too look over our menus while still being checked on regularly, and they're kind. We will DEFINITELY be back for more ❤️

The best. So flavorful. It was so cute they had a sign saying they were short staffed and then here come these kids 8 to 10 years old bringing out the dinners to the table. They were very well mannered and very serious about their work. Just adorable and they were really teaching those children more than just work. It was such a beautiful thing to see.

Wow! What a great place. We had heard nice things about Peterlins but never had the chance to stop in. Our family of 4 (2 college kids) and a grandma stopped in for lunch - sad after a funeral and also hungry. The selection was broad and had us wanting one of everything. We had multiple appetizers - cheese steak egg rolls, guacamole and broccoli bites. All were delicious! Had to have a second round of the egg rolls. Ordered the bourbon beef tenderloin in a delicious demi glaze with mashed potatoes and string beans, meatloaf and also a few wraps - one with chips and the other with sweet potato fries. We also HS cream of broccoli soup and a side salad. Everything was DELICIOUS!! Go! You will NOT be disappointed. Our server was super friendly and attentive and the owner stopped by to chat as well. This place is a gem and we will certainly be back!
