An absolutely fabulous meal from start to finish. In fact before our order even started coming, they had delivered one of the most tasty appetizers we have ever had, a bruschetta with layers of flavor that did not fade as we nibbled. Each course exceeded our expectations and we spent 3 hours swooning. In addition, the service was delivered with impeccable style and a friendly personality. And the owner, a woman who said she was not the chef but "just a cooker", described and oversaw our dinner with such passion that we were swept away by her. This is an incredible place to dine!

What a lovely place to have a romantic diner in Faro. The decor was chique and the ambiance is really relaxed. Too bad our seating was not ideal, since there was a nice table reserved (but nobody came) but the floor manager held on to it. Nevertheless, the food and the wine were great. We ordered both codfish starter and main, and we had the egg as starter and the duck as main. I enjoyed the mains and the eggs starter, however the ceviche cod fish starter had too much pepper corns and i missed the smoky flavor. The desserts were gorgeous and really tasty. Almost perfect.

This was a very unique dining experience! The staff was unbelievably kind and sweet. You’re welcomed into the restaurant and an iPad is placed onto your table. The waiter takes your drink order and tells you the chef will come and explain the courses. The chef comes out and explain the courses. All of the food was delicious!! My one complaint was how quiet the restaurant’s patio is. When we were at the restaurant, all guests were sitting outside but it was extremely quiet. We had to whispers because it was so quiet. It was still a great experience!

Dinner at Pigs and Cows was the best meal of our entire trip, and we ate very well across Portugal. This charming, elegant, family-owned restaurant was certainly the highlight of our brief visit to Faro! The service was top notch, and the food was fantastic. We also think €45 a person is a great deal for the meal and experience you get. Just be sure to book in advance. They work with a small but mighty team and can only handle so many tables in a night. Don’t miss out on a spectacular meal!

Don’t think I will be back to Faro anytime soon…but the service, food, ambience will be something and only reason that is going to make me come back… Amazing food from starter, main to dessert. Lovely waiter to help along with 2 very passionate couple who is also the owners to help serving and taking care of the customers. I will surely miss this place and the 2 lovely couple there. In short, service and food are 10/10

An incredibly intimate and beautifully curated experience. Each dish was unique and made to perfection with an explanation from the owners and chefs themselves. A beautiful blend of Portuguese and French cuisine. An absolute must!

One of a kind fine-dining experience! 😍 When we first arrived, the staff welcomed us heartwarmingly and one of the chefs has come greeted us personally, explained us the ingredients and concept behind each dish. It is a french-portuguese fusion bistro where you could find very unexpected dish and great ambiance! Starter: Smoked codfish + Leek Both were beautifully presented, but I must say the leek was totally top-notched! It was sooo soft and with a very creamy sauce - a taste that I would never expect to have with leek! Main: pulled pork + fish The pulled pork was layered with sweet potato mash, pickles, nuts and spinach puree. The pork was tendered and it went very well with all the other layers - the pickles had given an extra spicy flavour! However, it might be a bit heavy for people with small appetite. For the fish dish, it was steamed with creamy sauce, with pea puree and a baked spinach cake as sides. This was very soothing and light to eat which allowed you to have them bites by bites!! If you have time, make sure to have a reservation here and you’ll definitely love the whole experience! It was a very enjoyable and lovely meal 😊

This is heaven in Faro. The fusion between Portuguese and French cuisine is evident in every dish. Each dish is well thought out and presented. Just enough for you to enjoy the flavours and also leaving you wanting more. You pick from a selection of starters, main and dessert. The wine pairing is excellent. The selection of music and service just blends into an incredible evening with Lilian and Didi (the hosts). I would come again every night if I could.

Incredible food, possibly the best meal we've ever had - all three courses were perfect, really dynamic flavour combinations, and the service was impeccable. Including tip, a bottle of wine and cocktails, dinner for 2 was 80 euro each, so not cheap, but absolutely worth it.

The best restaurant in Faro and a nice break away from the overpriced restaurants in the nearby resorts. If you want gourmet food at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go! Super friendly owners with a homely atmosphere.

Wow, what can I say, what an experience! From the greeting you get when you walk through the door, the great care when shown to your table, the stunning decor, the ambience, the time and care taken by the lovely chef to explain the stunning menu that has been lovingly created by husband and wife this place really is worth 5 stars and more! If you are looking for a truly unique dining experience when visiting Faro I urge you to visit Pigs and Cows! Thank you all once again for making me feel so welcome, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and hope to return one day!

We entered without reservation, however they still managed to find a table for us. Quality of food is exquisite, service perfect. Totally recommended when staying in Faro.

What can I say about this magical place? A beautiful terrace, a first class service and a food that really surprised me. If there weren’t other guest I would lick every single plate. The curry prawn was honestly something from another planet. Highly recommend!!!!!

Just had an incredible meal here this evening! From the moment we sat down, we were thoroughly looked after. The curated menu was such a delight to hear about as each dish was described from each course in great detail. The presentation of the food was beautiful as they came out and the taste of each was equally amazing! The stand out was the Shrimp Curry with banana, stunning combination! Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had out here in Portugal! Great hospitality too! We will be coming back again.

Beautiful restaurant ran by a very attentive team. Fine dining experience without the pretentiousness (or price tag). The shrimp curry is to die for - one of the best curries I have ever tasted!! Atmosphere in the garden is just perfect. And staff make you feel right at home. Will definitely be back! Can’t recommend this place enough.

The whole experience here is superb, the friendly greeting and introduction, the flamboyant presentation, and most of all, the superb food. A must for any visit to Faro. We'll definitely be back.

7/5 stars. Exceptional culinary experience. Superb staff creating a wonderful experience. A small restaurant in Faro, so booking is essential. Communication through messages was quick and easy to book. Nice warm welcome when arrived, and explained how the evening would work. Lilly, Head Chef, came out to explain each dish available and answered all questions. It was a tough choice! Good choice of meals, with meat, fish options and some suitable for vegetarian (vegans call up beforehand and they will Taylor to this). Food was exceptional. All 3 courses. We will return. Just back from a brilliant City Trip in Faro. Dining at the Pig and Cow is a must do if you are on a break to Faro. Eating at the Pig and Cow was an excellent culinary experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere, ambience and the attentive Staff within this restaurant was first class. Excellent value for money and I would strongly recommend a visit. I have visited Pigs and Cows in October '20 but forgot to write a review. Doing it in May '21 because it think guests must be aware of this restaurant when visiting Faro! The food was really good and the ambience nice, relaxed and enthusiastic. The hostess makes you smile with her kindness and joy and you get the feeling the chef visits your table because he really wants to know if appreciate what he has prepared for you. Absolutely recommended to visit this place!

The 6 of us had almost everything they had on the menu and it was all delicious! Amazing service, the chef took the time to tell us about each dish and food came out quickly. This is a small place so better book in advance (they are quick to reply via email)
