When I saw, smoked pulled pork, I said yes please! The restaurant is clean and the staff is attentive. The menu is easy to ready and ordering is quick. However, the pork doesn't taste smoked. The meat itself is cooked perfectly, super soft and flavorful. But it doesn't have that smoke punch in the face you get from American Southern BBQ. The food is good and I would definitely go back, but it just doesn't taste smokey enough. When I asked what type of wood he used, he said pine. There was probably a language barrier because I have never eaten pine smoked wood. When I asked about mesquite or hickory he replied he couldn't get those there. Sad fact considering they were using a Traeger smoker. Definitely recommend, but be advised if you are used to Southern Style BBQ, this won't be the same

So, pulled pork shoulder done so well you don't need to soak it in sauce like we do back home. Straight up deliciousness of meat, added slaw, all served up in a toasted roll. We asked for a dash of hot sauce and were kindly served a choice of pineapple based sweet hot, and a rich smokey bbq-esque hot sauce. Dabble a bit on each half.. simple. Super Bock is locally available everywhere. Here, it is as cheap as should be and served cold in a chilled glass. Light lunch for two, or snack before a heavier evening meal for less than a tenner sterling. Amazing. Friendly, English speaking and a couple of tables indoors incase it's shady/windy. Loved it.

Doesn't look like much from outside, but is a hidden gem next to the train station. Brilliant place to grab a quick bite to eat. The sandwiches were brilliant. Owners seemed very friendly. Would recommend stopping here!

Great pulled pork sandwiches, perfect cole slaw at a small, clean and tidy restaurant. Meat tastes more like pork brisket meets rose beef than pulled pork, which is insanely delicious in a wonderfully warm bun. We wanted to share one on a full stomach and immediately after the first bite decided to order another. Very friendly and professional service. Pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw at €4,40, imperial beer at €1.10. It cannot go wrong.

Simple, tasty good food at a very reasonable price! The Especial tops my recommendations with suitable lashings of there hot sauce....washed down with a beer. Yummy yummy, porky in my tummy.

Highly recommend giving this place a shot. The food comes out quick, the ingredients are fresh. The soups are delicious. The pulled pork sandwiches are fantastic. Be warned - the hot sauce is VERY hot. I made the mistake of drizzling my first sandwiches in it before. Very tasty but also extremely spicy. One of the best value spots for lunch in Faro. And if you come often enough you get a free sandwich every 6th sandwich

Nice little place near the harbor. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. The sandwich was excellent and I highly recommend adding the Portuguese sausages. Another plus is the draft beer.

Great little place, few steps from train station. I would not pass this place by..a little gem. Really nice toasted sandwich, homemade coleslaw and lovely wine. Well worth a visit. The girl working very nice, speaks good English and helpful with the menu.

Growing up in Oklahoma and living in Texas and North Carolina for several years makes me somewhat of an expert on BBQ by default. If you ever find yourself in Faro, Portugal and would like a nice pulled pork sandwich at a non-tourist price, look no further than just outside the local train station for Ponto Smokehouse!! It has the smokiness I like from Texas, with the sandwich being tipped with coleslaw that I love from North Carolina. The owner makes his own in-house hot sause that he is about to market online he calls S.O.S.S. Be sure and give it a try and grab a bottle to take home. He's put some in bottles small enough to carry on a plane (67ml or 2.25oz).

Excellent lunch option - Great quality ingredients, cooked perfectly. Great value for money and friendly staff. Much much better and a touristy sit down lunch from the commercial area of town and only a 4 minute walk from the Marina! If in Faro you should 100% try this place! The 'Especial' was particularly good!

Stopped by on our flight out of Faro airport. Staff was friendly and there was good parking from the train station.our sandwiches where made fresh and they where so good. The coleslaw was so fresh and delicious and just the right amount of meat.

Simply the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. You cannot miss this place. Properly smoked pulled pork, not microwaved rubbish in bbq sauce like you get elsewhere. Spent 2-3 weeks touring Portugal and this had to be one of the best things I ate! The bread was incredible, soft, crusty and so fresh. The smoked meat (straight out of their smoker) was beautiful, and topped off with optional cheese, coleslaw and homemade hot sauce. Currently sat here for lunch and seriously considering it for dinner this evening!!

Beautiful sandwich (I had the one with coleslaw and sausage), went down very well with a Superbock after a long train journey. No complaints whatsoever.

We were on the lookout for a quick bite for lunch and Ponto didn’t disappoint. After a long morning walk in Ria Formosa and the Faro beach we stopped here for lunch time. We took the original pulled pork sandwich. And ended up with a coffee and their famous almond cake. For the almond cake picture a caramelised top with a slightly moist cake at the bottom. Mmm ! It did not disappoint ! Good sandwich, nice pulled pork. And they do speak English ! They will welcome you nicely and you won’t feel unwelcome. Highly recommend for an affordable and delicious lunch.
