It’s gorgeous. You could sit here all day and just watch the planes go into Faro Airport, and there are loads of small establishments near by, including a McDonald’s and lovely restaurants to sit in.

There are definitely nicer places but the views were still really nice! Would recommend a long weekend in Faro/Almancil but a week might be a bit too long as there isn't a huge amount to see or do. Lots of spas, golf course, few old buildings and churches/museums but apart from that there isn't much else.

Small marina with small boats anchored. It’s a nice sight as it not overwhelmingly harbour-y. The promenade is is quiet and pretty nice and safe to walk around both during the day and evening. Quite a few boat hire company for day tours, what I think I’d have loved to see more is some small, low key cafes.

Many of the boat tours run out of the marina. The tours all seem well run with reasonable rates. The marina itself is very well maintained and the staff seem very professional. One side of the marina has bars and restaurants with good food and beverages. The view over the marina harbor is very relaxing.

I visited several Marina’s in Portugal 🇵🇹 but this one in Faro is one of the best! Highly recommend to visit for a walk, also the downtown area is very near so you can walk between them. There 3 nice hotels 🏨 that I think it’s a good idea 💡 to book there.

The marina was so beautiful! Weather was amazing with clear skies. The best time to go is in the morning when not many visitors are around.

Very little, but peaceful place. Nice to walk around, or sit in cafe or restaurant and have a drink or snack. Beautiful sunsets, very bubbly in the night.

My second visit to Faro in 12 months. I loved it the first time and still love it on my second visit. This time, I went with my brother and sister in law so had company to enjoy the town more. Faro is a historic town, with lots of cobbled streets and tiled streets to enjoy shopping, the sites, cafes coffee shops etc. Boat trips from the Marina to different islands, and trips to see the dolphins. Although, we didn't stay to enjoy the night life of Faro, I'm sure that the town comes alive. There are music venues, live performances and a rooftop mandolin player above the Tourist information building. The tourist information office is a great place to start your Faro journey, where you can get a lot of details about places to visit and things to do. You can buy maps and guide books for these activities including bird watching and walks. I'm sure that I will visit again for sure.

If you are making a special trip to Faro on the train or bus for one day, for me it was not worth the effort. There is not much to do or see once you have been to the main places near the centre. The Harbour is ok with a few quick boat trips. Thats it. Oh and the train station has no announcements or signage, so you will need to ask. One thing I did notice is that it seems run down and graffiti everywhere. Would not go again.

Great place to mooch around. Excellent little restaurants-market and live entertainment all on the quayside.

It's a beautiful place for a walk, especially at night. It's very lively with music from nearby bars, the pretty lights all around and reflecting on the water... You have many options to go for a dinner here or for a drink. If you walk to the other side there are bars with live music too. The marina of faro is a great experience.

We spent 4 nights in very hilly Lisbon (5 stars), then 4 nights in tourist town Lagos (3 stars). Then we headed to Faro and immediately thought “it’s a smaller version of Lisbon without the hills!” We find it “quaint”, especially the Old Town area. Note: not as many English speakers as is Lisbon and Lagos but enough to get by. Definitely worth a couple nights here.

Magic place for anyone as it s always Lively. There is often live music. The sunset from that point of view can be spectacular. Even more so if you come back from Faro beach by ferry through the laguna. Wonderful !

A must visit place if you go to Faro. Lots of bars and restaurants around the marina, at least one with live music! If you like canned fish there's a small store with wall to wall cans of fish!

Visited on Saturday. Cafe is opened but no shops on Saturday. Still nice place to walk and see stuff.

Lots of different eateries, very busy at the evening. Very beautiful atmosphere! The marina has a narrow pier that you can take a stroll or sit and watch the sun set..

A little town but there's not a lot to see here, lot of fish Restaurants and Café, also little shops and shopping area for gifts. We went here on January so maybe there's not a lot to see, but maybe in summer is more exciting. But sunset is beautiful.

It is the closest point to water view. Many cafes and restaurants. Going toward the water on the side of Sana hotel there is a walkway over the water...can see how much the tide fluctuates. After sunset is one large mud flat as the tide recedes

Great place to relax and have a beer. The sunset is amazing.

Picturesque marina in the heart of Faro. I was here at the beginning of May and it's very tranquil with an ample selection of eateries and bars dotted around the outskirts. A far cry from Albefeura, but if you prefer serenity to chaos then you will enjoy this area.

We did a trip on the Atlantic Ocean to see the dolphins and it was fantastic. Ocean Vibes is a company started by Marine Biologists who are passionate and knowledgeable! It was super nice to learn about their projects and the ocean!

Faro Marina is the place where you can find many kiosks - offering daily trips to Deserta, Faro, Caletta and Farol islands or a Kiok- for surfing lesson with Oscar. The trips take about 4 hrs for $35 euros or where you can take the ferry and just visit one of the many islands for $3.50 euros both ways!! Did both trips and enjoyed both experiences very much but if you are short one time and want to see 3-4 islands is worth spending the money!!

A small but pretty marina with lots of places around to lunch or have dinner taking the fresh air. Took the tourist train (with tyres 😀) from a stop in front of the marina. If you are pregnant or suffer from aches and pains board the 'train' with caution as it is a loud, jostling affair due to the cobblestones and you can barely hear the commentary over the noise of the tyres. A nice quick way to see a bit of Faro in 1 hour with tickets at €3 and €6 for 1 trip or a day.
