You come as a guest and leave as a friend. Miguel and his team take care about everything. A fantastic, beautiful and tranquil place surrounded by fruit trees and vegetable beds. At the same a central starting point to beautiful cities and beaches. Spacious, nice rooms which are cleaned always very carefully as the whole property is immaculately clean. The dishes prepared by Miguel are super tasty and very varied. The offered wines of high quality and delicious. The culinary horizon is definitely expanded. It was great. Absolutely amazing place! The house is located in the most beautiful area just outside Faro and very close to the aiport, but far away from noise and people. The rooms are very large and clean and everything is clearly very new and modern. Every room also has a small private garden, which is perfect to enjoy the great Algarve weather. Outside there is a large pool, and given the small number of rooms at the hotel, it is never crowded. As the hotel is placed outside the city, it is necessary to drive to get to the city or the beach, but both are very short drives away. We had a car for most of our stay, but it is also very east and cheap to get around with Uber. The breakfast is really amazing and freshly made from local ingredients. Every morning, we had freshly squeezed orange juice from locally grown oranges, as well as one of the many egg dished made from fresh eggs. As we were there during the Covid pandemic, there was no buffet, but we just ordered whatever we wanted the night before, and the breakfast was brought to us, anywhere we wanted, including in the room. Some nights we had dinner in the city and for others we ate at the hotel. The dinner menu changes every evening, but is always comprised of a big home made Portuguese meal. We were never disappointed. And the wine selection is really good too, coming from the impressive wine cellar of Miguel, the owner. And Miguel, the owner, was probably the best part of our stay. He was there to greet us, when we arrived and was always there for anything we needed. He even prepares the dinners himself. On our last night, we shared a bottle of Port and he showed his wine collection. His hospitality is really second to none. Well maybe second to his dog Paco (or public relations manager, as Miguel called him). So if you are thinking about booking it, stop thinking! I really cannot recommend this place enough.

We had the absolute best time at Mercedes Country House! Our great time started even before we arrived! Miguel answered all of our questions about the area and provided us with a room with easy access for our dog. Everyone at Mercedes Country House did an amazing job of keeping it covid safe. They provided a delicious breakfast to be had in the courtyard or in the room. Miguel made sure to provide gluten-free options which were very helpful! Lucy is another amazing person at Mercedes Country House. She makes the best pancakes around! My husband had them every morning for breakfast! They both were so helpful during our entire visit. They answered questions about dog-friendly beaches, gave us information on when to visit the Olhao market, and recommendations on what to do in the area. We did something new and fun every day! From olive oil, tasting, to seeing the most beautiful beaches, to having delicious authentic Portuguese meals every day. I celebrated my 30th birthday during our visit and the night before, we were surprised with a beautiful and delicious bottle of sparkling wine. The surprises didn't stop there! My husband had reached out to them secretly beforehand and on the morning of my birthday, they delivered a homemade chocolate cake with a candle singing happy birthday. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. The people, the service, and the farm are just absolutely magical. The property is stunning! We enjoyed walking amongst the variety of fruit trees and watching the sunset from the rooftop. The pool they have is breathtaking! Our time there was so wonderful. We loved relaxing in our room when it was time to rest. I thoroughly enjoyed their gorgeous stand-alone bathtub! Mercedes Country House is a MUST book on your next trip to the Algarve! We spent a week at Mercedes Country House with our two young children, and it was a wonderful experience. Miguel and Lucie are such lovely people and we always felt a personal touch. Miguel went out of his way to make meals that our daughter was willing to eat, and the main meals were fantastic; always made with fresh, great quality ingredients (plus Miguel has some excellent wine and port recommendations). There was also the luxury of having whatever we wanted for breakfast brought to our room as they couldn't do a buffet due to covid. When we had a medical emergency in the middle of the night Miguel drove us to the hospital without a second thought. The rooms are large and spotless, the pool is pretty big (and as there aren't too many rooms it was always quiet). The area is so peaceful, but still it's only a 20 minute drive to Faro, and not much further to some beautiful beaches. I really would recommend a visit.

My partner and I booked a last minute ‘flop and drop’ weekend here and it delivered on every level. A very short Uber ride from the airport, spacious and clean, and totally relaxing. Outstanding value and the staff were so helpful throughout. The restaurant and quality of food deserves a unique mention - simply excellent.

Cannot recommend enough. If you are looking for peace, quietness and a great host this is the place. Large rooms, beautiful surroundings and dog friendly. The breakfast is spot on for what you need and the freshly pressed orange juice combined with the freshly made eggs really hit the spot😍 the place is small so you often have the pool to yourself. The Thai restaurant in the hotel was such a wonderful surprise. Everyone working here has been lovely too. We had a room with a terrace/garden and it gave a lovely feel of privacy.

We used the restaurant again last night and made our way up to the terrace for drinks and watches the sunset. This place is a slice of heaven with amazing food thrown in.

There are not enough fantastic words to share about this place. Excellent, Supendous,i could go on and on. Mercedes Country House is a must visit. Miguel and his family go over and above to ensure you have the best eperience. We were treated like family and everyone was made to feel welcome. In fact my cousin joked hat it was my second home that I hade kept a secret! My family and I were here for four days from 30th April - 2nd May 2023 to celebrate my 60th Birthday - it was the best, the hospitality, food, location, privacy, facilities - pool and rooftop louge area in particular, we had so much fun. It will now be an annual vactation. Thank you Miguel and your wonderful family.

We enjoyed our stay here so much!!! Everything is perfect: great host, quietness, big pool, sweet dogs and tasty breakfast! A small oasis in Portugal! We will definitely come back!

A fantastic place to stay. Miguel and team are great people who will look after you. We stayed with our two girls (1 and 2 years old) which I'm sure is a unique situation but worked really well for us. The pool is amazing, we will miss it but will be back.

Perfection doesn´t exist, until you walk into the Mercedes Country House. You feel welcome immediately and that feeling doesn´t change. The host and the entire staff are friendly and helpful. The room is big and clean. The breakfast is amazing, just try the pancakes and you´ll know what I´m talking about. It´s nice to sit outside and relax at the swimming pool. Thanks for the excellent service.

Amazing place. A hidden gem in Faro. Miguel was the most fantastic host alongside his lovely family and colleagues. Offering a real retreat away from the hustle of the city, fine wine, home cooking, an impromptu cooking masterclass and a laid back atmosphere. Very beautiful hotel in a quiet and remote part of faro. Beautiful decor. Needs a receptionist. We walked in and there was no one to welcome us with our personal details printed out and lying on the desk for everyone to see. We booked via hotel tonight app that said "complimentary breakfast available" but they wanted to charge us 10 euros each for some pears and a sandwich to take to the airport for the early flight. We were reminded that we paid a cheap day rate via hotel tonight during this argument. The only dinner option was chicken or pork casserole as opposed to the 5 options on the menu. The waitress was trying very hard but it seemed like it was her first day in a waiting job. Would go back just for the decor and location but not food or service.

Such an amazing place!! Just fantastic, everything fantastic. We have had a wonderful time in Mercedes: peaceful, relaxing, beautiful views... The room is ultra clean, modern and very spacious. On top, you have a superb service. Miguel and his family (also Paco, the dog) makes you feel very welcome. We recommend you also to have dinner in there, the quality of the food is exceptional! The food is very fresh and local, made by the family. Just 15 min away from the airport but far enough away to make you feel that you are in the countryside. Go, do not hesitate!

Mercedes Country House was my happy place in Faro. I really loved this place cause I was able to feel the quality in all of the aspects: room, food, staff. I found everything perfect and the atmosphere relaxing and trustful. The position is perfect to visit everything around near Faro, because most of the main things are only 15-20 minutes by car from there. You can also have the parking for free. Everything was perfectly clean and for me this structure is really worth 5 stars. Can’t wait to be back!

A real gem in the algarve. Beautiful peaceful setting, the view from the pool is stunning. Miguel and his staff are great hosts and it’s a treat to have dinner cooked by him some evenings when you stay. It’s super clean and modern.
