Came here for lunch today and loved the food. I got the Schnitzel, red cabbage and german potato salad. Everything was amazing. My favorite was the red cabbage, just a personal favorite. The gravy and schnitzel were awesome. I also got the german chocolate cake to go and it was also amazing when I got home. Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was GREAT!

So I do love well prepared sauerbraten with warm German potatoes and and red cabbage Sadly not much of an offering the triangle area of North Carolina so I cruised to Fayetville. Where this place had sauerbraten on the menu. Off I went for my one hour and twenty minute drive to get there. The ambience was so so. Don’t have the feel of a German establishment. But I didn’t go for the interior I went for The food. The nice waitress that took my order said she would check to see if there was any left as it would sell out regularly. That’s where it went down hill. If you’ve ever had sauerbraten you know there is a tangy vinegary sweetness to the beef roast. And that blends so well With red cabbage. Alas what came out was roast beef with a brown gravy that tasted like the roast beef I get at Golden Corral. Now don’t me get wrong it was very good roast beef and gravy . But not sauerbraten by any means. So don’t go there for sauerbraten. I’m sure Their other foods are wonderful. We he black forest cake was epic.

Cute decor and has been around for years. Their service is really nice. We only had breakfast and some cookies. I thought they were fine but maybe we need to try more authentic German food.

Food is good! Staffs are friendly and accommodating. They get really busy during dinner hours! So I recommend going there during 2-5pm where it’s not busy.

Really use to enjoy this little spot, until I heard a Caucasian lady ask about military discount and was told yes, I got you, but when I (African American) asked, I was told we don't do that anymore, but my table heard them confirm three times with the lady that she would get military discount. It may not be a lot, but I prefer to give my patronage to those that treat me equally. Food is good, but I will give it up for my personal character for food.

If you are missing the German Cantinas like I am this spot has you covered. Tucked away here in Fayetteville you will find that piece of German flavor and home. 🇩🇪❤️

Best restaurant in Fayetteville!! The service is awesome and the food is just phenomenal. Make sure to get dessert first - it doesn’t last long because holy cow it’s so good. My favorite menu item is the schnitzel salad but you can’t go wrong here! I wish I could give this place 10 stars.

After spending 10 years in Germany, there are times it is difficult to find the authentic German cuisine here in the States...this is the place. I took my family there so they could experience the real deal. They were amazed at what they had missed all of these years. Please keep doing what you do.

Absolutely delicious! Very authentic German cuisine. Our server was busy, but attentive and super cool! Will totally go back as much as possible. Also got a cookie and a pretzel and they were *chef's kiss*

This is such a quaint little establishment. The food is authentic with delicious German cuisine and an adorable little bakery. My husband and I ordered different things, and I ended up eating all of mine and what he'd let me have off of his plate too! The interior is small but cozy. It's definitely a lesser known place, so it's ideal for a nice Sunday meal. Cannot recommend it enough! 5 stars for sure!

Disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel dinner portion. What I received was two small frozen cutlets that was deep fried, not freshly made and pan fried. They put hardly any Jäger sauce on the Schnitzel with maybe 4 or 5 mushrooms. The only saving grace was the Spätzle. This place was so much better 10 years ago.

Excellent, excellent food and service! Very generous portions, and if you sit facing the dessert case, you will not be able to leave without trying something 😋

Drove all the way from Raleigh to eat a German lunch. Got there around 2:45 pm. I ordered the beef rouladen with spaetzle and red cabbage and my husband had the curry wurst with fries and cucumber salad. My red cabbage looked grayish like it had been totally overcooked and my rouladen was kind of tough. Very disappointed as we previously always had a good experience. The black forest cake also tasted like it was a day old, definitely not baked today. On the plus side, the cheesecake was delicious. All and all I was disappointed having driven over an hour and not having a great German meal.

Authentic German food and beer that’s very reasonably priced. The waitresses are welcoming and fluent in German. Only disappointment is all of the bakery goods are sold out by lunch. We will definitely return on our next trip to Fayetteville.

First time having Max & Moritz and it was good German food. I had the dinner sampler (Brat, Jägerschnitzel, chicken schnitzel, fries, green beans, and potato salad), and the ol lady had the chicken cordon bleu lunch. It was busy but that didn’t effect the service…it was great. Let me tell you that GCC was good but the kinder bueno cheesecake was something else. 🤤🤤🤤

Food was great and our waitress Jasmine was impressive. The tea was the best I have had in a long time and they gave fresh cut lemons. It was my first time visiting and will definitely go again. Their pastry’s,deserts, and cookies were excellent!!! The staff were helpful and welcoming.

Oh my gosh! Having grown up with German grandparents and living in a predominantly German area in Pennsylvania this place has brought me home! Fantastic food. Every single bit is homemade. I always buy an extra plate to take home for later. And let's not forget the bakery! When I first got diagnosed with cancer I had to go to Fayetteville for treatment. Every time I go my husband tells me to pick wherever I want to go to eat and I always pick Max and Moritz.

Friendly staff the moment you enter. Food is German cuisine. Wed. Soup of the day was lentil or goulash I enjoyed a bowl of lentil soup delicious with a homemade biscuit.Pius a bratwurst burger a side of sauerkraut and sliver of dill pickle. Their deserts looked delicious I bypassed them.
