Campsite privacy is great. This campground is a pretty good size, I believe they have over 80 campsites. They have a few cabins for rent too. They have clean restrooms with showers. You have to have tokens to use their showers. Rangers do drive around and check that you are registered which is great. One of my favorite WA state park

A lot better than I thought. Everyone kept telling me "oh that's really urban". It was beautiful, I could actually ride my bike around the Campground. I got here before May 20 so only the first part of the Campground was open. Did have a few random vans park just for the night then disappear in the morning, no one was acting a fool though. My spot had a good patch of grass for the boy to play. The closer you are to the loops the more spacious your spot could be. My Verizon had no signal until 930pm. (The airplanes didn't bother me/ not that many) The woman with AT&T had no problems. The beach across the street (drive) was awesome. Beautiful drive, extreme low tide, lots of picnic tables. Lots and lots of rabbits here, squirrels and Robin's. Some hummingbirds living in the bramble. My internet did work on beach side.

The Park is nice and clean even the bathroom is well kept when I visited there. Not too busy and it qas low tide so it was nice to walked all the way out to explore the see little creatures that you don't see often when it's high tide

This is a hidden 💎. Campground is well maintained, even has free hot showers. Lots of well maintained trails, one leading from campground to beach. Only downside is the only place to get water/wash dishes is at one sink behind the bathrooms.

This park is lovely. On a warm day I can pretend I’m in Hawaii. There are picnic tables and bathrooms. Lots of kids like to play in the little River that flows out into the Sound. Bring sand toys if you have kids. I have seen people swim here- but it doesn’t look inviting to me.

Decent place to camp but the bathrooms are not that great, and the shower system requires tokens and there's only one for like 52 campsites in the loop so that was really lame. The sites can be slightly different sizes and maybe difficult to fit big tents into. The trail systems really nice though and fun to see the rabbits all around the area. Blackberries too!

This was an easy hike which was exactly what I was looking for.y friend and I were just going to do the log loop, but saw a sign for the beach. We decided the beach sounded great so we headed there. I liked the trail, it took us under the highway bridge which was interesting. The trails were a little busy, lots of other groups and cyclists going through.

Went camping at the beautiful park! Bigger than you might think, and popular during the summer! Books fast before the season starts so plan ahead. Lots of spaces, nice size to fit all sorts of sized tents. Various camping options, some with electrical hookups, some cabins, bathrooms with showers available as well! Close to grocery market if needed and neighborhood so not entirely remote, although cell service is almost non-existent. Lots of fun, clean and tidy camp! Over 120 spots!!

We stayed there for two nights camping. The campground is clean but the trees are sparse, so you could see other campsite on your space. It’s not a good place if you seek for privacy. During holidays, it was noisy because too many kids shouted loudly. It was much more quiet on the weekdays, then you could enjoy the peace and calm. The campground host was very friendly and maintained the campground very well.

I only explored a small part of it. Usually a Discover Pass is needed but today it was free day. There are trails that I have yet to explore further but what I wanted to see today was the beach! It's a huge area, mostly wet sand but for a Sunday, definitely have lots of places to park your chairs/waterproof blankets. Dogs are allowed on this beach. There are picnic tables but a short walk away from the water, more so closer to the parking lot. I enjoyed it. There were a couple of ppl with their Kayak and Paddle boards so bring them.

It's beautiful out here! The drive to the parking areas includes trees lining the roads. Some of the trails are fairly challenging, but the views are incredible. The bit we've seen so far was well-kept with no litter in sight (including the beach!) and we're going to make the beach here our main place to go this summer. It totally makes the Discover Pass more than worth it for this state park alone!

Great place for year-round camping hiking or cross-country running. Beautiful beach walks at sunset. Clamming is also frequently done here.

Really nice park with wooded creek hikes and clear water beach. Dog friendly. Need discover pass which is also available at the park. Had a bit of confusion at first finding the correct way get to the beach parking lot and on to the creek trail. When in the parking lot with your back to the beach walk to the right where the thames creek trail starts and go under the huge metal bridge trestle along the creek. From there you can continue straight to do a loop or take the first right trail. The outbound trail and the old boundary trail made for a really enjoyable walk/hike. The changing levels along and above the creek were awesome. We looped back and went on to the beach which was amazingly clear and clean. Lots of pups enjoying there time too. Highly recommend. The campsites looked really nice too. We ended up first in that area before we figured out we were on the wrong side of the street for hiking. Hiking parking lot is on the water side of the park.

Beautifully spaced out between other campers. Showers and restrooms clean during our stay. Well maintained trails. No trash laying around 👍. Drive or walk to the beach is awesome 😎

Great park in Federal Way, would of made it 5 stars but some of the trails were confusing to follow. Saw some wildlife and cool logging history. The trail we took started up top and wound down to the ocean. Overall would recommend a visit for more able bodied persons because of the steady uphill walk back to the car after we hiked down to the beach. It was tiring for us who regularly go on long hikes.

Visited for about an hour when the tide was out. We were looking for any animals/tide pool. We found some sand dollars and a crab. It was interesting to see this area. We are from east coast beaches. The sandy beaches we are used to are non existent, but these are pretty in their own way. Decent park, lots of parking. Not familiar with the area but we did not see much else to do here while at the park itself.

It's very easy to walk 3 minutes down the beach to get away from all the kids, and once you're there dash point is beautiful. Some pretty cool wildlife can be seen here too! (If you're looking under any rocks, make sure to put them back gently once you're done)

This is a pretty awesome State Park that's not very far away from most people in the South Pudget Sound area. A nice sandy beach with a great view of Vashon Island. There's hiking trails too but I haven't been able to use them yet.

Been here a couple of times. The water is usually out quite a ways, which allows for lots of sand and streams and digging for sea creatures! You do have to pay for parking, but there is usually always a spot to park when we go. Not a lot of area for setting up on the grass, especially when it's busy, but I saw a lot of people setting up on the sand! Water was surprisingly pretty warm when we went, but it was also a very hot day!

Dashpoint is a nice state park that has plenty of well used trails, beautiful river running through it, and a beach that alot of people enjoy. I have not personally camped at Dashpoint yet but it looks quite and relaxing. I have hiked here many times and it is always a relaxing hike not too difficult but very enjoyable.

A Haven of Natural Beauty and Cheerful Activity: Dash Point State Park I recently had the chance to visit the enchanting Dash Point State Park, a picturesque treasure situated along the shores of Puget Sound in Washington State. I was so captivated by the experience that I felt compelled to write this review to encourage others to indulge in this mesmerizing haven. From the moment I entered the park, I was greeted by the harmonious and comforting sound of the water lapping against the shore. This gentle, rhythmic melody, naturally orchestrated by the ebb and flow of the tide, served as a soothing backdrop for the day’s activities. It was as if the park was whispering its welcome, inviting visitors to relax, unwind, and explore its many wonders. One of the park's most endearing features is its lively atmosphere. The air is filled with the sounds of children’s laughter and the merry chatter of adults. There's a unique sense of community here; a blend of locals and tourists all mingling, sharing in the park's allure, and forming joyful memories. It's a sight to behold and a feeling to be experienced. The park is an idyllic venue for outside gatherings. Be it a family picnic, an impromptu soccer game, or an organized event, Dash Point State Park offers ample space and scenic beauty that amplifies any social occasion. Not only is there plenty of open area for games and activities, but the various picnic shelters also provide perfect spots for family and friends to sit down, share a meal, and enjoy each other's company, all with an exquisite view of the Puget Sound. Of course, a review of Dash Point State Park wouldn’t be complete without a mention of its breathtaking natural beauty. Lush greenery, stunning trails, and panoramic views of the sea, all culminate to create a landscape that feels like a slice of paradise. The abundant wildlife, thriving plant life, and clear, starry nights make it not just a park, but a sanctuary for nature lovers. In conclusion, Dash Point State Park is more than just a park. It's a melting pot of soothing sounds, cheerful activities, natural splendor, and shared happiness. It embodies a sense of tranquility and community spirit that is rare to find. For anyone seeking a place to relax, have fun, and connect with both nature and fellow visitors, Dash Point State Park is the perfect destination.

Nice park! Beach was beautiful and clean. Not crowded at all on a Saturday. There are tables so you can have a picnic and public bathrooms are open. Most people were not wearing masks but easy to social distance out there.

A local gem providing welcome relief from concrete and asphalt hard scape. There are numerous trails through the forest and greenery; amidst bird songs and intriguing rustles in the bushes.

This place is heaven. If you haven’t gotta discovery pass yet for Washington state parks, this place will convince you it’s worth every penny. Great for kids, great for dogs, great for guitar practice or the casual stroll… that damn coast though! SMH! So gorgeous

Plenty of parking for day use, but high theft area. Sandy Beach and I went when tide was low. Lots of sand dollars and great beach to explore. Not very rocky except closer to shore and along stream. Outdoor showers available to rinse off. Great for kids.

There's some great aspects to this park/beach and some not so great. It's very slippery as there's Lot of seaweed in places . .. it also doesn't smell great. YES. I know the beach smells like THE BEACH. But this has a dead ocean critter smell. If you happen to be a rock hound, then GO TO THIS BEACH. There's so Many beautiful agates all over and petrified wood. I got over the smelly part very quickly and had a blast finding agate beauty's. I would definitely go back !

Overall are fine. Good: (1) there are proper restroom and shower rooms (2) 15 mins driving to Costco/restaurants/Safeway etc for restocking for eating (3) driveways are all properly paved Bad: (1) Light pollution a lot! Cannot even see a single star (2) many campground are sloped and hence be cautious when setting up the tent (3) there are trails and beaches in the walking distance, but they are just fine. We ended up going to the Allan Yorke Park for Kayaking and Paddling, because the beach in State park is…just fine…

Campground review: Clean facilities that were replenished even on a very busy holiday weekend. Friendly volunteers were helpful and kept the sites looking good. A variety of shaded and unshaded sites available (135?) - there were a lot but our site (82) had space and privacy between the surrounding sites. Access to the upper loop trail and bathrooms within walking Distance. ADA accessible. Fresh water and wash basin at bathroom facilities.
