The gym always seems dirty. A lot of equipment is always broken and stays broken for a long time, which makes waiting on the machines that do work annoying and makes the gym seem crowded even though I don't go at busy times. The sanitizing wipes are in awkward places and not convenient, which wouldn't be that big of a deal, but if you bring stuff in with you, you can't leave it, because theft is common here. The locker room smells bad and is usually out of paper towels. The high schoolers are either sitting on equipment not using it, or taking pictures of themselves in the locker room. The staff has never been rude nor helpful. The location is very convenient.

I find the staff friendly and helpful. Prices are about average. But the gym machines have mostly been there since they opened many years ago. which is when i joined. And the wear and tear is starting to show. With them breaking down more often. And the preventative maintenance does not seem to be what it was years ago. The gym membership seems to be at all time high, due to one of their other clubs becoming less financially stable and going out of business, yet money is not being put back into the business to get more/newer machines to keep the present members happy that have been there for many years. Plus a membership used to give a member full use of the facilities as per the contract that was signed. But a new policy blocks off certain areas except for members that pay an extra fee for the use. Seems contracts don't mean what they used to.

The manager here, Ashley, is incredibly patient and understanding. She helped me with all of my questions and concerns. This gym is also very clean and in great condition. I will definitely be back!!

If you used to discrimination and low customer service this is the place for you. Front desk lady is very unprofessional and rude. She enforced me to wear mask while 50% of people working out wasn’t wearing any. She said corporate was on the way to check on them but I guess it was bs. Bathrooms are very dirty with clogged shower, machines are falling apart with loose screws. -0

I use to love going to this gym close to the house friendly staff. Me and my husband being going here for 2yrs and the customer service I got today from the lady at the front desk was horrible. Disrespected me in front of my son then told us we could leave after she was rude. From the looks of these reviews they got issues with their front desk receptionist or whatever she is. Yelling at me and treating me with disrespect. I work in customer service and on my bad day I would never have treated a customer that way!! They just lost two paying customers. What happened to the Nice people they had at the front.. Good luck people

It's pretty much like any other LA Fitness or public gym. But for the past year, for whatever reason the gym has had a huge influx of new members. And now it's pretty much busy all the time. There's also large groups of people working out together. Just crowding a piece of equipment. Either on their phone or just talking. Then you have several people bringing in their tripods and filming their Instagram lives, tiktoks, or whatever. I get that you want to be a social media influencer, but I'm not trying to be in your video. If you want to record, get a private gym. No real lack of equipment, just really busy, some of the equipment that you'll find will usually be broken or under repair (e.g. stairmasters, fly machines, etc...) Go into the men's sauna and you'll usually have guys pouring water onto the electric heater. I can ignore most of the issues, but what makes me want to stop coming here now is just how it's busy almost every hour of the day now. Not sure what issues people are having with the front desk. You just scan and go in. Don't really talk to the front desk.

DO NOT pay for membership here!! Sauna never works and employees like to blame people for "pouring water" on the grill when it's obvious they keep shutting it down to save costs! Business is obv going bad..MAYBE if their equipment worked then people would be willing to pay for a membership there.. Best decision I ever made was switching to Planet Fitness. Cheaper and they have real equipment that works :)

I have already saw review here about broken AC. It is true, and it is very hot. If you have any health conditions with your heart please stay away. I brought it to attention of the management and they got being rude, saying that according to the corporate it is fine. I mentioned them that corporate does not make rules but the health department. This particular gym is dirty, hot, broken equipment, lots of weird people who try to steal. Auburn location is much better!

We've all experienced covet 19 and I'm happy The gym has been able to open back up. However they have charged me $76 in an annual fee I joined in February mind you plus my gym membership fee. Totally cool on the gym membership fee but due to covid them charging $76 for a annual fee is robbery and they would not in any way shape or form work with me on fixing the problem they're only fix what's to cancel my membership. This is the third time I've given LA fitness the opportunity to be my gym of choice. Third time was not a charm and I will definitely never rejoin. They do not treat their members well at all in my opinion

Love the people at this gym. Have to be careful parking in the parking lot and using the locker room. It’s best to lock your valuable up at the lockers by the front desk.

most of their equipment is like 50 years old & about a quarter of the dumbbells are missing. The assisted pull-up machine barely moves it’s so rusted. The benches are ripping at the seams, literally & most of the dumbbells are so old you can barely see what the weight is on them and the grip is non existent. The stars are for some of the reception staff. Only some of them acknowledge your presence, which is appreciated.

‼WARNING‼ If you're a female wanting to join LA Fitness enchanted parkway and absolutely love working out and working out with your girlfriends this is NOT the place to go. The management staff will stereotype, discriminate and call out wild accusations in front of guests claiming that you're training your girlfriends even though you have been going there for over 4 years. Or even better Randy (maybe Ronald, Roger or Lester is his name, something along those lines) will let you know that he's been watching you for the past three months without your knowledge right after you've introduced yourself and shaking his hand (because that's not creepy, weird or completely inappropriate). So if you want to sign up for the boys club, then this is the place to go. Otherwise there are better non toxic health club environments to go to where you won't feel so sexualized for being a female who lifts at the gym with her girlfriends.

Great large open gym with basketball court, sauna, and tons of weight equipment. I gave it a 2 star because staff at front desk rarely greet or acknowledge you when you walk in. They are typically on their phones. Probably due to poor management training and customer service. Equipment is typically “serviced for repair” for weeks on end. Repair staff is slow to get equipment repaired.

Cancelled my membership after 6 months of subpar classes, facilities and safety issues. Classes were constantly cancelled, the gym is overcrowded and machines are broken more often than not. LA Fitness is not a high end gym like they like to say they are.

I wish they had open gym volleyball more often. They only have it once a week in Fridays from 7pm-10pm. The staff here, for the most part is friendly. It gets busy in the evenings but I never feel like I have to wait too long to use a machine.

I just quite my membership here to join Planet Fitness, which costs 70% less, has more equipment that actually works, and better fitness instruction. This LA Fitness club used to be good, but it has gone totally down hill. There is no point in being a member here, because so much equipment is broken, that if you go during peak hours like lunch time or after work, there are no working machines available so you just sit there and wait in line for a machine to use. While you are waiting, you are looking at all these machines with signs saying they are broken. If you are unable to workout, what is the point of being a member of a health club.

Is really good, the equipment is maybe missing some instruction for someone who don’t know about those machines or so. That would be all, I like to be there and mostly in the morning because isn’t a lot of people.

There is no time of day that this gym isn’t busy. The cleanliness or lack of is absolutely disgusting. I wish they still offered spray bottles because then it seemed like people actually wiped down equipment properly. The hand sanitizer offered smells like dirty bong water. Equipment is so old and outdated, half falling apart, even the mats under equipment is tearing apart (especially underneath lat pull down). The water fountains are absolutely disgusting, there’s build up all around them. Just gross honestly. If it wasn’t for the kindness of the kids club staff I would probably give this gym 1 star.

This particular location, not a big fan of. A lot of equipment is broken often or "scheduled for maintenance." While I still go here because it's relatively close to my place they need to work on equipment functionality upkeep and upgrade their squat cage. Dumbells are great, up to 125 lbs.💯

A great place to work out. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and friendly. The amenities are vast, there's lots to enjoy. Gym users are an accepting, encouraging culture. It's a large facility, lots of equipment. The regulars are super supportive

Isabel was a sub today for the 9:45 am class. She was amazing, truly an outstanding Zumba instructor. I wish to see more of her. Wow! I just loved her energy. Please bring her back. Also would like to say a big thanks to Randy you have really turned this place around. Keep up the good work.

Club equipment is outdated and run down. Sanitizer/paper towels regularly out. Staff are fake friendly, loudly gossip about people and how much they dislike there jobs, including club manager. Going to change gyms. Don't waste your time signing up.

Don't join this club. Equipment constantly broken and remains broken for months and years. When you complain, you are told that "Repairing things is not a priority because we have so many problems and so many things broken, that fixing them is not a priority." For example they had a fire alarm go off and they failed to turn off the alarm for a month, so I was unable to use the club. It was shocking to me that they would leave a fire alarm on for a month continuously, and when I complained, they said that there were so many problems at the club that turning off the alarm was "not a priority." The front desk staff had to cover their ears at work all day. So I asked them to not charge me until the alarm was fixed, and they fixed it immediately -- after a month. Just find any other club to join. I can't imagine what diseases are being transmitted in the pool.

Larger stretching area. And more range with the free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells) would be nice. A lot of people. Would be nice if it opened earlier.

It's cleaner than people say...at least compared to other gyms I've been to. It does get crowded at peak hours, but what gym doesn't? I also like the classes (maybe the hours could be earlier), the variety of equipment and amenities, and the friendly staff.

Had a great experience with my gf. If you need a membership, see Patrick. He hooked her up with a couple of trial days and helped her really understand what to start with as a beginner. Super nice, customer oriented and knows his supplements. Wish I had him as my sign on person back in the day. Thank you Patrick.

This my main LA Fitness and I go for the location and cleanliness. Other gym goers are nice and the staff is friendly and observant. This location is pretty large and has all the equipment and amenities I look for. It's pretty cool that there's a smoothie place here too.

Recently LA bought out a local small gym. Now this gym is way overcrowded. The equipment is in very old condition, treadmills still have the old school iPod chargers, dumbbells are all mismatched and most machines are often scheduled for maintenance. The gym is always clean and dispensers are kept full of cleaner and hand sanitizer, but overall disappointing for the cost.

  • 4/5 Daniel H. 1 year ago on Google
It's not bad. They've got plenty of equipment, ranging from free weights, presses, ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, and stair climbers. They even have trackball and basketball courts. I don't really like the two floor design, since you know... Hot air rises. With that said, the cooling on the second floor is ok, but tends to get heavy with heat. Reception is ok, if not not friendly. I think if you're going to have a few people at the front desk, the least they could do is greet or say thanks for coming. Otherwise, it's a decent place. I had to come because my gym got closed.

Crowded and hot. Staff I worked with were nice. It’s a okay option for the price. Facilities could have been cleaner and better maintained for a better rating

Alex convinced me to make the switch from Planet Fitness to LA Fitness today and I couldn't be happier! He answered all my questions and made the sign-up process quick and simple. I learned so much about the equipment and classes offered from him. Thanks for getting my new fitness journey off to a great start, Alex!

  • 3/5 Faery F. 6 months ago on Google
I would love to give 'em 5 stars but frankly a) the classes are too crowded b) there are too few classes scheduled and c) lack of variety! If they opened those gates just mentioned, word would get around fast attracting more memberships. Perhaps LAF has lost hunger degenerating into complacency.

Avoid this unsafe and very dangerous place to workout. Broken equipment caused me serious injuries. Many of the treadmills are broken, but you can't tell until you use them. I was on a treadmill and it seemed fine, but when I went to turn it off, the off switch did not work. There was no sign on the machine that it was broken. So since the Stop button didn't work, there is an Emergency Stop button, which I pressed but then the machine did not stop in the normal way of safely slowing to a stop. It just suddenly stopped which through me to the ground and I chipped a tooth on the treadmill bed. I told management, and they said they didn't care, it's not their fault, and that it was my fault that the machine did not work with no sign on it. After I reported it, they still did not fix it, and still no sign to warn others of the danger. The problem is not just one treadmill, but the whole place is hazardous because they do not provide any maintenance at all.

I was well received by AJ. It's a nice facility. I have used their amenities before and am back. Ready to achieve my set goals!!!

  • 1/5 AJ J. 4 years ago on Google
No customer service at all. Management does not care. Equipment broken, that remains broken for 6 months. When you ask about it, you are told that fixing equipment is not a priority, and that it may remain broken for another year. Very hostile management. Rude. They do not listen or care. If you leave a message for a manger to call you, you get no call. Water leaking from roof. Dishonest management.

Having been a 24hr Fitness member for 13 years now, I thought I'd check out this gym because it's proximity to my home is much closer. It was decent enough, but super crowded at 5pm and the service was terrible. Miscommunication, lack of professionalism except the lady checking everyone in. The trainers were not good people persons that handled my visitor pass. Then I was pestered a lot by phone to join. The week visitor pass was nice to thoroughly check out the gym though. I'm a huge fitness class attender so I loved the great class schedule they had. Unfortunately, I was super disappointed with the cycling class. The bikes were archaic and uncomfortable with hardly a spot for your water or towel. My back hurt afterwards as it was challenging to figure out the best way to adjust it as I've never used Kaiser bikes. Then, they left the lights on for the class and the instructor didn't use a mic so I couldn't hear him above the music much and he walked around the class the whole time. I didn't find his instruction to be motivating so I didn't work out all that hard. I didn't mind the music, but it was quite old-fashioned compared to 24hr fitness where they have new and newer bikes with high tech instruments measuring your speed and progress. They also have super motivating instructors with hip music. So... that alone strongly discouraged me from switching gyms even though it's 10+ minutes closer to me than the nearest 24hr fitness.

I was greeted at LA Fitness by Ben and Alex and the gym was very clean with all the latest gym equipment. If your looking for a great gym choose LA Fitness Fed Way location.

  • 1/5 Giovan C. 4 years ago on Google
If you have a job with normal hours, the gym is going to be busy essentially all the time unless you choose to wake up earlier in the morning. From 5pm to 8pm you can expect the parking lot to be filled wrapping around the side of the building— and during the real busy times it even continues to the back. They allow people to continue to show up even when there’s more people than machines. The equipment itself is mostly old and while it may get the job done the use shows. There have been times when a bench I’ve used or even a whole area has smelled like a mixture of sweat and piss. Over all if you’re looking to get a good workout without having to continuously switch up which exercises you’re going to do then don’t go to this location. And as a side note the “live” count of how many people are actually at the gym isn’t too reliable. When it says “a little busy” they mean almost all of federal way is at the gym.

Great place for a work-out. Machine are in good working order , however the treadmills are older and have seen some wear and tear. As with the lockers, could use an upgrade and that is me just being picky.

Although this club has a nice cosmetic appearance, once you get past that, and look deeper, it is a disaster. The club is not secure or safe. They have such high staff turnover that none of the staff are reliable. For example, while the front desk person leaves to go outside to smoke, there is NO ONE at the front desk, so any random person just walks in, including homeless people who stink because they have not bathed. When you report the homeless person to the staff, they just laugh, and think it's funny. But I don't feel safe working out at a place tat has no security, especially in this age of mass shootings, etc. You go to use the bathroom and there is no toilet paper, and when you complain to management, they ignore you. They could care less. The heating and AC system doesn't work so it's often too hot or too cold, not well ventilated.

I've been coming here for 3 years. About 6 mo ths ago they turned the heat up and its miserable to work out here now. The thermostat by the treadmills read 74. I'm exhausted and overheated before I can get any type of a real work out in. I'm going to try another LA fitness soon and if that's still to hot I'll be looking for a new gym.

  • 1/5 Sergey R. 4 years ago on Google
I used to like that place, but over the years I got multiple frustrations with management over guests. They are all bout sales, because they want you to sign up first, so you dont get yo see their messy locker rooms and stinky equipment. Sales managers just bossing around and pretty much harass people to sign up. I signed up three people in the past and got no credit for it. Management at this location is terrible.
