Bad experience with this agency. We used roadsurfer in France a couple of time in the past and all went well but the agency in Munich was a terrible exemple of what should not be done. Very long check in, we had to wait until the team finished their personal drink and conversation on the sofa before someone came to us. We got the van without any check in control. After driving 2 hours to the dolomites, we noticed the fridge is out of service, We called many times, they told us to wait a little bit longer, once arrived in the italian alps, they finally told us it s a problem they face often on the new VW Vans (but didn’t check obviously) … the only option we had was to drive back 7 hours and change the van, even though we took full insurances. We spent 10 days summer trek with no fridge and had to send to trash butter, cheese and all fresh groceries that we got on departure. They said they ll offer something after check out: On the check out day, once we notified we had a problem with the fridge the employee took 40 min looking for any little scratch in and out of the van, to obviously charge us fees. He couldn’t find any, even though he tryied to charge us old scratches (but we had photos of check in to proove it was there) facing that he couldn’t charge us, He finally decided to say that the car was not clean enough so he can offer the cleaning, pretenting it is 100e for the cleaning. The van was clean as we cleaned everything , of course there was dust on the front carpets, but not much more…. I had to tell him that it was unprofessional and very disrespectful to behave that way. It would have been more appropriate to just say sorry for the incident, if they didn’t want to compensate the inconvenience, instead of being so obviously unfriendly to avoid the client complain. Roadsurfer can offer good or bad experience depending on the agency. The one in munich needs more control and a professional manager to manage this summer amateur team.

In general the rental it was above average, the road house(fiat ducato camper van) it was with problem free and everything working properly. Just couple disadvandages: 1) the fridge working only with battery(therefore the autonomy it was only 2 days, then you should search for camping (AC supply) 2) the kitchen equipment for cooking were very small.... for example you can't boil spaghetti or fry potatoes

Truly terrible service! The pick up was very ok, the guy said that everything works (including the heating), gas is enough and you should be good. First evening we realized that the heating doesn't work (showed some errors). Called the help centre, they said that they can't do anything because he is not a technician and that he will call back in the morning. As it was +1C outside, it was unbelievably cold during the night. No one called back in the morning. So we called again and the guy tried to help, but didn't succeed, he said he has to call a technician AGAIN. After several hours we received a call saying that they can't do anything and that we should take the car to the TRUMEN (display system) retailer. As it was the weekend, obviously none worked, so we stayed without the heating in the winter. We needed to find emergency place to stay for the night, because at this point we were already ill from the night before.. Oh, and there is some kind of emergency system, that the water drains itself, if its cold, didn't know that either, so we didn't have water at this point as well. The guy at the pickup said that there will be enough gas, but unfortunately those were lies as well, as we were given just 1/4th of the tub of gas. If we would have had the heating, it wouldn't last us long. The next day the car showed multiple warning saying that ESC and hill holders don't work. As well as that there is no AdBlue (again, guy at pickup said that it's freshly added). THE BEST IS YET TO COME. We started having some serious technical problems with the campervan. After pressing break, it wouldn't accelerate anymore. This happened to us several times on the motorway in Austria (which was an extremly busy motorway between Wien and Salzburg), on the exits, on the construction work, basically every time you pressed break, you had to restart the car. I think this was the most dangerous drive I have ever had. Calling roadsurfers - their "emergency" line doesn't respond. 45 minutes later managed to get in touch with someone, again, they didn't take any responsibility for that and said that we have to call the FIAT centre. Luckily somehow to Munich. Felt like the technical status of the cars are not checked every after client, as this car had SO MANY PROBLEMS. And the best thing what they replied to our complaint email- they would give us 40eur refund. 40 EUR!? Are you joking? That doesn't even pay off the extra costs we had to pay for the hotel, because our campervan was not a campervan anymore, but just a big huge box, which is super inconvenient to park and doesn't serve any function as a "camper".

Update: I never heard from their support (normally I have in the past). First time I've had a problem with a vehicle. However, I'm still happy with the service so 4 stars. -------------------------------------------------- Faulty van sliding door step when I picked it up. Reason for fault was not correct and thus I reported it to their support asap. I'm a happy customer but would expect acknowledgement of the issue at short-notice due to 1) customer service and 2) Fleet management (i.e. prepare vehicle for next customer) I will revise this review once I hear more with the hope of re-editing and giving 5-stars

I have to say i am not sure if 2 or 3 stars, but because the car was a brand new camper and we got the car quickly i give 3 stars. But what for me unacceptable is that they don’t provide any self-service possibility at their base to fill the cars up and at the end to make the greywater tank and WC empty. This should be the minimum… so you have to calculate with that too if u want a car from them.

Our experience with this company in Munchen was not good at all. They are asking for a lot of money on a small damage and not answering any emails. We can’t get more information anywhere and we are supposed to be paying right away. Moreover description of the camper wasn’t accurate, we were supposed to have 2 camping chairs and a welcome pack and never received it. Finally, the day we picked the camper we weren’t showed how to use it, we just got a link to a video tutorial and that was all. Not recommended at all.

We had a great trip to Croatia with our VW bus from roadsurfer. The bus was equipped with pretty much all the basics you could possibly need for a camping trip: mattresses, a coolbox, a gas stove, dishes, a bike rack, chairs and a table for outside, a table inside the bus and more. The bus was almost like new. The pick up and drop off were very convenient: a friendly roadsurfer employee showed us everything around the bus. I'd do it again, thanks roadsurfer!

Never ever again We rented our Fiat Ducato in Scotland and had trouble with it from day one with our gas - so we were not able to cook or have warm water. Unfortunately the service from Roadsurfer is really really bad. It was really hard to get them on the phone for starters, they never called back even though they said they would. The only option they gave us, was either to drive back (coz they don’t have mechanics who can come out to help) or buy a cooker where we „might“ get the money back. When we returned the car, they said they don’t check the cars after the return if the people before didn’t have any problems. For the amount of money they get, you would expect them to check the important things! Now being back from our travels, Roadsurfer is not reacting to any e-mails or calls. We couldn’t upload our bills on their website and still have not received any response!! It is really a poor poor service! So I really recommend everyone not to book a van with this company!

Our pickup and drop off were fairly quick. The staff were wonderful. Our vehicle was not new but it was in pretty good condition aside from a couple broken pieces that were a bit cumbersome to use (screen door and window shade). I would recommend this business to friends and family.

My girlfriend and I have rented camper vans from three different camper companies over the years. This one is by far the best experience we’ve had. The vans are new and fully equipped and the employees are very helpful! Would rent again!

They seem like a good outfit. Very happy to listen and to help when they can. Hopefully the brand is as good in Madrid when we next hire a van.

This was our first time to use camper and we had really good experience with Roadsurfer. The vehicle is clean, easy to use, good enough to travel long distance and spacious for three of us. The people there are also nice and provide good service. We definitely would like to borrow camper again in future!

Excellent experience with booking, check in and out and the vans themselves which are well equipped and easy to drive. One tip - do check the contents of the van and that electric points are working before you drive off. We discovered some minor faults but it was too late to do anything as we were already on the road. But this did not spoil the wonderful campervan experience we had!

We got fantastic experience with the camper van rented and with the service provided from Roadsurfer. Very helpful and friendly staff have guided us from booking time, to pick-up time (in Munchen) and drop-off in Dormagen near Dussedof. We even had a ride to train station offered by staff instead of picking an expensive taxi after returning the car. The van itself is really new, compact and cozy. All basics needed for a camping trip is included: we cooked, ate, played, and slept in the van. My 2 kids really miss the van now after the trip. They talk about this experience with big pride to their friends... Will rent again next time with Roadsurfer. Highly recommended to all travelers.
