Beautiful castle surrounded by vines and mountains. The museum is really interesting and unique. Great views from the different areas

Small but lovely castle with some beautiful views over Aigle. The entrance fee is very reasonable and it's worth the money. There isn't much parking nearby and the streets are obviously very narrow as it is situated in the oldest parts of Aigle which adds to the charm. The only thing that leaves this as a four star rather than a five star spot is that it would have been nice to have been able to sit down somewhere for a coffee, especially since it was a hot day. They have an expensive restaurant but we didn't feel we could go in for just a coffee and pastry. Thank you for the visit you have a charming castle 💝

If you travel from the main station in Aigle, I would rather walk (even if you catch the bus you will have to walk a while anyways) 20 minutes to the castle. Entrance fee is 11 Francs (covers the wine museum as well). The castle is ok (its oldest part dates from the 12th century) but if you are a tourist with limited time I'd rather go to the nearby Chillon Castle or to Gruyères Castle. I found the wine museum much better than the castle itself.

Visit the castle and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. As souvenir, get a nice bottle of wine or two… 😎🇨🇭

If you have time to stop in this beautiful city the castle can be seen by far and it’s gorgeous!

This is a wonderfull castle dated from the 12 century ,surrounded by winery ,a former castle where knight of Aigle use to live. Restored in the 70's used from then until today as wine museum ,can also be used as event set for banquets and such . The surrounding is gorgeous ,on a sunny clear sky day ,the mountains surrounding and the winery look like something from a fairy tale i just wished the museum was open in the day I went to visit ,the access is great for anyone ,there is parking space and access for wheelchairs ,there are some stairs but nothing much . Such a pleasure to visit such a gorgeous place ,it's a must if you are looking for something to visit around !

Brilliantly well-preserved castle with an interesting history of being lived in by Bernese governors until the reformation. Some historic murals painted on the walls in the important salles of crests from the high-ranking officials from centuries ago. Lying in a valley surrounded by vineyards and mountains, it's a delight to see. Old wine labels dating back to the 19th century carefully displayed showing the popularity of the wine produced in this area. The entrance fee included a small taste of wine which is a nice touch after the tour 🤗

Best caste in the region with chillon. Great for a walk and to enjoy a wine glass around. There is a place called Restaurant du château Just there that is lovely.

This place is only beautiful from the outside. I do not recommend paying for the entrance. Most of the rooms inside the castle are empty or locked. There are empty shelves in some rooms, it is used as a disorganised warehouse and event venue. The renovated parts do not reflect the time it belongs to, unfortunately they were renovated without care. 😞 I was very disappointed. I don't understand why there is a fee for the entrance. The entrance receptionist was friendly.

Highly recommend making the stop here. It costs a small fee to tour but once inside they give you practically full access to wall through the halls and rooms. It is fully self guided with the exception of a video at the beginning. Beautiful castle with a rich history.

I went on a Saturday in January. There were about 5 people at the Chateau when I was there around 13:00. The chateau is very interesting and there are lots of places to explore. The wine exhibit is ok, I was more interested in the Chateau. There is an exceptionally friendly grey cat that was roaming around. Many of the interactive exhibits were not working

You won’t find many artifacts on display but the castle and the views of the vinyards are beautiful. The wine and label exhibit is also part of the museum and it is quite nice but some of the interactive pieces are not working.

Fairytale castle that lies in the middle of vineyards. Grapes all around. The inside is worth visiting. See how they lived in the early days and taste and feel the history of the place.

We visited the museum in Mai 2022. The castle is a nice photo stop but frankly speaking we can't really recommend the visit. The exhibition is not well managed and many rooms were empty. Plus the comments are only in French.
