We went on a nature trek in Viti Levu. We wondered at the hanging tree roots that looked the roots Tarzan used to swing from tree to tree. We smelled coffee in the trails. Fiji is also famous for its coffee!

The main island of Fiji is a magical place. On the coast you have your traditional resorts and such. Yet just a few kilometres inland one finds untouched nature consisting of breathtaking vistas and dense subtropical forests. To explore these, a 4x4 vehicle is a must which one can rent easily enough. You do not need an international drivers licence as long as your drivers licence is in English. There are also numerous options for guided tours if one weren't inclined to drive one self.

The number 1 travel destination (to put it mildly). Pristine beaches, greenery, mountains of sand and to top it all of the friendliest people you will meet in your life.

The island is very nice but could release it's full potential if tourism was better managed and developed. Not much to do except in Nadi and Suva. Even in Koroyanitu national Park, you have to hire a (really pricy) guide to go hiking, since there is no proper paths or trails. But the nature is really pretty and the people always smile and say hello "Bula!"

Viti Levu is the largest of the Fiji islands and home to the capital city of Suva, where the majority of Fiji's residents live. The interior is dominated by mountains covered in lush tropical greenery, including Mt. Tomanivi, an extinct volcano, as well as numerous rivers and streams.

Great views, clean sand. Litter is getting better (less) each time I go. Hardly anyone on the beach, friendly people, great weather. The sunsets have been amazing every night.

This is Fiji's largest island with proximately 80% of the population of the country living on the island. It is populated by two cities and several other smaller towns, all of which have popular amenities and a very friendly and suited to both locals and tourists. Do try the local food and visit the local markets and get around in local transport such as buses and taxis. There's a lot of local activities to try, including sea and river tours, local food outlets, hiking and many other adventurous activities. There's a good mix of high-end and budget friendly hotels to cater to all budgets.

Viti Levu is the biggest and most populated Island in the Fiji Islands. It's also host to the country's only two cities the capital Suva to the East and Lautoka in the West. It's also home to the country's only international Airport and Port in Nadi and Lautoka respectively. In terms of weather there are two decidedly different climate types. The East is usually rainy and/or cloudy and the West is sunnier and drier. Due to climatic conditions the Western portion of Viti Levu is Fijis tourism hub and is home to the world renowned Coral Coast an almost 140km stretch of coastline with myriads of international hotels, motels, inns, cabins beginning at the Pearl Pacific Hotel near Pacific Harbor in the Province of Serua to the Marriott Momi Bay Resort near the borders of the Nadroga Province. There is also the world famous Denarau Island and its plethora of world famous tourist brands as the Hilton, Sofitel, Sheraton, it also hosts the main port connecting to the hotels in the sandy and sun drenched Mamanucas Islands and the Yasawas to the main land. The East besides playing host as the country's administrative and political capital Suva, is also the seat of Fijis government, the Parliament, the Museum, headquarters of the Fiji Military,Police, Fire Authority, Corrections Services etc,is Fijis Sports hub, houses international organizations bases as the UN, EU, ADB, WHO etc the various Emabassies and High Commisions etc; and regional bodies as Pacific Islands Forum, University of the South Pacific, Pacific Theological College etc. That briefly is a summary of Viti Levu.
