😐 An interesting space. Not my favorite "vacation" bouldering gym, I stopped in Flagstaff for just a night and came here because the other boulder gym in town is "members only" except for Wednesday, and alas it's Tuesday. There are other reviews that talk about the holds being dirty, I've been to man... People often mention holds, routes,

An interesting space. Not my favorite "vacation" bouldering gym, I stopped in Flagstaff for just a night and came here because the other boulder gym in town is "members only" except for Wednesday, and alas it's Tuesday. There are other reviews that talk about the holds being dirty, I've been to many gyms and the holds here are really chalky and a number are pretty greasy. They set on Mon/Wed but I'm not sure they do large section refreshes?? Maybe just 3-4 routes? Many gyms reset entire walls at a time, maybe they don't have enough setters? Honestly it only looks like there are 3 new routes up. My home gym refreshes our gym in a 6 week cycle with a new area fully refreshing every week and the holds being pressure washed between sets. Apart from excess chalk, it's hard to read a significant number of the taping on the older/dusty routes, it's mono-color routes- but the tape is peeled and routes that use the wall top as a top/finish don't have clear indicators for the route color that's ending on the wall. I spent a lot of my time trying to see black vs blue vs purple holds to find my route as well as some difficulty with orange/red. Maybe a laminate tag with the tape on the wall top would help with those wall top finishes. The walls here have a different texture, it's kinda like acrylic covered stucco? So it might have a little grip but the coating + chalk buildup does not give you much to smear on. It's not a walltopia walled gym. Cool things I really liked: the wall to "top" on is thick and rounded so it gives a great hold for finishing. They have 2 cave areas which was cool, one has a really intense flat roof so the routes are really tricky when climbing out of the cave. There is also a less steep cave which is very tall and the routes make good use of this length. There's also a large number of overhanging and slightly overhung areas that give some great challenges. They have really nice fully padded floors although not 100% flat/level there are some low areas and changes in elevation. A final highlight is that they are open until 10 on most nights, this is really rad and I appreciate being able to climb later in the evening. Also good ventilation in this gym! Front desk was also really nice and easy to check in. In my opinion 18$ day pass is a bit much for this gym. Maybe if I ever get back to Flagstaff I'd stop back- but if it's a Wednesday I would definitely try the other gym before this one.

Nice little gym for bouldering with a nice weights and stretching area. The setting was pretty good but alot of focus on strength over technique. The price is super affordable too at only $15 for a day pass. They have a drinking fountain and really friendly staff. My major complaint is with just how dirty it was. The whole gym had a thick layer of chalk on everything and half the holds have probably never been cleaned. If they just spent a day to clean the place up it would go along way. Over nice place

Beta Bouldering is the best! So friendly to everyone, especially beginners. I loved the space for workout equipment and yoga.

The setting is excellent and the diversity of problems makes this a fantastic place to train. I'm really excited about the Tension Board!

Cool routes and nice people. Staff was very active cleaning the mats and tightening holds. Looks like a great kids program, too.

We are here on vacation and we wanted to bring our girls to the gym to burn some energy. We called ahead of time to make sure it was family friendly, it’s not. As soon as my girls got their shoes on people in the gym had an issues with my girls being there. I tried to ignore it so my girls would enjoy the time but women and the person she was with made a comment about how “I am the kind of person who takes a baby to a move theater” and then loudly complained about my girls being there. So we left. $45 for 10 minutes. Don’t take your kids here.

The guys at the desk were super helpful and very informative, i came alone, so the people were super helpful around here as well and informative. Definitely made a few new climbing buddies at this gym and sent some fun routes.

The staff are super friendly, and the space has a cool set up but it is pretty dirty. The holds are greasy and coated in chalk, making even some of the easiest routes a real challenge. Definitely felt like climbing at an outdoor bouldering hotspot with the glassy holds. A pretty cool space, just needs a deep cleaning on the holds to make it more enjoyable.
