Snuggled
at
the
end
of
restaurant
row
in
the
lively
Santo
Spirito
Piazza,
Tamero
is
a
fantastic
stumble-upon
find.
We
were
originally
headed
for
the
pizza
joint,
Gusto,
but
after
seeing
the
long
line
and
at
the
prompting
of
our
empty
stomachs
we
sought
a
more
immediate
feast.
The
hearty
bread
comes
with
the
meal,
possibly
included
in
the
table
charge
of
€2.50
each.
The
atmosphere
is
rustic,
with
the
charm
of
the
former
body
shop,
combined
with
a
library
and
gallery,
which
for
some
reason
.
.
.
feels
like
home.
The
servers
were
attentive
without
being
intrusive,
which
seems
to
be
the
norm
for
Firenze.
Enjoy
the
bread
while
you
surf
the
menu
to
find
your
favorite
artisan
pasta
prepared
on
site.
We
had
the
Margherita
Pizza
and
black
cabbage
pesto
served
over
tagliatelle
pasta.
It
sounded
edgy
and
daring,
but
was
mild
and
full
of
cheesy
flavor.
The
pizza
was
thin
crusted
and
bathed
in
an
herb
laced
tomato
sauce.
You
need
to
eat
it
with
a
fork.
There
were
patches
of
mozzarella
rather
than
a
thick
layer.
I
thought
I
would
miss
the
molten
string
of
cheese
that
stretches
as
you
take
the
first
few
bites
of
American
pizza,
but
it
was
just
right.
The
tagliatelle
was
tender
and
flavorful,
and
the
black
cabbage
pesto
was
as
smooth
as
basil,
but
not
as
pungent.
The
house
red
wine
was
warming
and
several
steps
up
from
the
one
Euro
store
brand
box
wine
we
enjoy
at
home.
Stop
in,
enjoy
the
food,
relax
.
.
.
buon
appitito.
