A great experience in a hotel with amazing history located in the heart of historic Florence. We were greeted on arrival by Mario who shared the history of the area with us and spent 20 minutes marking up a map and pointing out the best ways to see all the city had to offer. Our entire stay was peppered with special personal touches from the staff. From breakfast to housekeeping to dinner recommendations AND even reservations, this was one of the most welcoming hotel experiences I’ve ever had. And, I can’t leave out how incredibly clean the room was. Definitely the right choice for our visit to Florence.

We had a incredible first visit to Florence with our stay at Hotel Santa Croce! With the warmest welcome, perfectly positioned location and clean, pleasant rooms providing the desired amenities, our 6 nights here were very enjoyable. Everyone here was incredibly helpful and we were delighted by the local recommendations also given. A special thank you to everyone at Hotel Santa Croce, we look forward to returning in the future.

Brothers Mario and Gabriel and their staff will treat you like family. Mario recomended two trattorias where he and his family eat and where locals eat. Wonderful places and great food. Hotel is near many things. Highly recommend.

Great location, cute hotel. The most wonderful service! Gabriel and Mario went out of their way to make sure we got our taxi to make it in time for our train. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Very nice hotel right in the historical center. Perfectly run like a tight ship by Mario and Gabriele. This is a family hotel, something very rare nowadays, with people who really care and will go the extra mile for their guests. We rented parking closeby and they even arranged to have the car brought to us. Its all about details. Highly recommanded if you want to have the real Firenze feel.

Our turn to add a positive review for the Hotel Santa Croce! Everything you read here is true... This is a wonderful hotel, in a perfect spot with the best service! The staff will do everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, the location is the most convenient, and it is quiet, considering you're in the centre of Florence. Highly recommended!! Grazie ancora per tutto!

The Santa Croce Hotel is a small, historical hotel in a great, central location with great prices. My wife and I travelled to Florence for the Christmas market in Piazza Santa Croce, which is about 2 minutes away. It is also within easy walking distance to many other sites, incuding the Piazza della Signoria with the Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Ufizzi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, the Pitti Pallace and Mercato Sant 'Ambrogio. The excellent Gelateria dei Neri and the All'Antico Vinaio panini are around the corner. Best of all, Mario and Gabrielle were very hospitable and provided outstanding service. They provided tips on excellent restaurants ( Trattoria da Benevenuto and Trattoria I'cche C'e' C'e') and helped us with all of our questions. When we arrived we were each given a glass of juice and Gabrielle took our luggage upstairs while Mario proudly told us of the history of the building and provided us with a map and directions to everywhere we were interested in going. We will defintiely be going back.

Nice B&B in the city center of Firenze. The room was spacious and totally sufficent for my wife, two kids (2 and 4 years old) and me. As the bathroom smelled a little bad, we kept either the door closed or the bathroom ventilation on. The included breakfast was ok, but due to the limited space, there was little choice. Furthermore a lot of plastic was used, e.g. for the cerials, jam, nutella, etc. The staff was really gentle and attentive and gave us a lot of useful hints on Firenze and the surrounding area. As the B&B is located in Santa Croce all important sights and the central station are in walking distance (20 minutes by foot, but exhausting when you have luggage) and also supermarkets, shops and restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity. Last but not least, the WIFI is working good. All in all we had a really a good time and we would definitely stay at Hotel Santa Croce again.

Don't expect much from the rooms, it's not a luxury hotel, but it's what I was expecting and happy with what I got, with all one needs when touring (such as a TV to catch up with the news if so inclined), and plenty of sockets to charge your electrical devices. Beds are comfortable, clean, . And very good bathrooms. Great breakfasts! Extremely and amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Perfect location. Very recommendable as a budget to mid-range hotel.

Mario will try to get anything you need done. For the price an incredible value. It’s a simple hotel with simple rooms and small showers. Air conditioning super cold. Free breakfast. If you want value lodging in Florence it’s perfect.

Great hotel in a super cool area built on the foundations of a Roman coliseum (that's why the streets have a curve here). Mario and staff are more than helpful and made sure rooms and breakfast (Get the breakfast) were everything we wanted & gave directions & suggestions about what to do, where to eat, where to shop. Everything's walking distance, & you should get lost in the streets. Basilica di Santa Croce, the Ufizzi, & Accademia were amazing (literally amazing: this word is oft overused but not here)!! We had GF & other restaurants nearby that were incredible. Mr. Pizza rocked, as did Sgrano & others. Florence has arguably some of the best gelato in the world, & everything is walking distance from this hotel. We will def be back.

Meticulous and personalized service, I almost slept on the street because of the flight delay, and the person in charge of the hotel waited for me at the backdoor for a full 50 minutes! All services are attentive, perfect hotel, I recommend it without hesitation.

Very kind helpful owner. Nice rooms. You cannot get a better tourist-location. Website says it has parking, but they do not. They actually have a tie-up with another parking garage a bit far away. You have to pay around 25 euros a day and the gaRage person comes and takes your car away. This is not so bad and is a regular thing in this area. You would not need your car for the 1-3 days that you're here. Did not try the breakfast.

An amazing stay at Hotel Santa Croce! You are in the heart of downtown Florence and about a five minute walk from all the sights. Mario, Gabriel, Fabrizio, and the woman clerk went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable and giving us tips on where to go and what to see while in Florence. The room was clean, AC worked great and was a lifesaver! The hotel staff is very accommodating and receptive to all requests that we had. Thank you all so much, would definitely stay here again when we return to Florence.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Santa Croce during our trip to Florence and it was an incredible experience! The hotel is clean, well-organized and has a prime location in the heart of historic Florence! Also, it comes with a delicious breakfast!! The brothers Gabriel and Mario went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and super comfortable! They are always available to offer assistance and provide information about dinner recommendations and the beautiful attractions of Florence. I highly recommend Hotel Santa Croce for anyone looking to experience Florence in the best possible way. The combination of the hotel's rich history, prime location, exceptional staff, and impeccable cleanliness make it the perfect choice for any discerning traveler!

I booked this hotel based on its excellent google reviews. But I was wrong. Totally wrong. Location: close to all major attractions in Florence. Room: very small, no too much room left after my X 2 luggages NO Elevator!!! I stayed on level 3, the check in staff was kindly helped me to carry one of my luggages. But I have to carry the luggages (about 30kg) down all the way from level 3. The stairs was too narrow that you cannot carry X 2 luggages the same time. The reception staff was just sitting there: “ you could have asked for help!” Thanks for telling me that. Wifi: was very good in the room, but has no internet in the kitchen while I was having my breakfast there. City tax: the check out staff insisted me to pay 4 euros city tax by cash while ther was a post machine on the desk. I did explain to him at least twice that I have no cash at all. He still said:’ the money doesn’t come to me, it goes to the government “. Eventually, I paid with card. Why has to be cash? TV: was really small TV, it seems smaller than the ceiling light. Noise: poor sound prove, I could literally hear from the next door at midnight Luggages storage: when I picked my luggages, there was a staff who kindly asked if I need to use the bathroom before I left. That was almost the only moment I feel welcomed in this hotel. I gave extra star for his kindness. Overall, I do not think this worth five stars from my experience last night.

My wife and I stayed in their studio apartment. It was cozy, yet comfortable. I can't imagine a more convenient location from which to visit Florence. Walking distance to train station, major sites, eating, and shopping. The staff was helpful and informative

The customer service provided by the owners Mario and Gabriele was outstanding. Always willing to help on any way possible, recommendations to restaurants, places to visit, helping with taxi reservations, documentation, etc.. I highly recommend this hotel located just a few steps from Piazza Santa Croce and very accesible to visit any of the many Florence attractions
