As the review from 4 days ago, this is sure low-quality food. Anyone with Japanese roots, who grew up with authentic home-made Japanese tradition, knows that this pretentious restaurant fails to deliver. My tongue and lips got numb with the excess of salt. The tea tastes like the common orzo in Italy. Execution is sloppy. Consistence is lacking. And full of industrially-prepared sauces. Not the basics of unami. Not the fresh, and humble, and minimalist taste from Japan. Avoid this place. Ps. All the good reviews are from people NOT related to Japan, who likely never been there.

The owner is extremely outgoing and friendly and creates amazing atmosphere in the place. The food is authentic and prepared by japanese chefs. It made us travel back into Japan while visiting Florence. Thank you!

Adorable outdoor seating next to the Sant’Ambrogio market. You get a miso soup with your welcome, and a sort of plum (liquor?) at your goodbye... which was soooo good, btw! We got the plate of ‘assaggi’ for 23€/head and that way we got a taste of about everything on the menu... each with a thoughtful, creative presentation. Delightful experience for an alternative to the usual meal in Flo! Highly recommended! Service outstanding, friendly and funny. We had such a good time.

The waiter was very friendly and nice. We came for dinner and had to wait a bit longer to order. On that day they opened at 19.30. The food on the menu is very limited. Some of the dishes were not available on that day unfortunately bc there was a dish I really wanted to try. So we ordered wakame salad, takoyaki, katsudon and gyudon. The first two were good. The Wakame had a bit too much sesame oil in it. Takoyaki was good but usually it's crispy and not as soft. But the two rice dishes were disappointing I must admit. The Katsudon should have Tonkatsu in it but we couldn't find any fried meat in it. The sauce was too salty which overpowered everything. Also the presentation was not Japanese style as the food came in bowls. Normally such dishes are placed in big plates with the meat, rice and sauce positioned nicely. Here it was all mixed already which was not authentic. All in all, the service was super nice. The location is not as relaxing as you're sitting outside right next to a big building and the street where cars and motorcycles pass by. It's also quite dirty in that street. The food was not authentic in my opinion in the taste and presentation. Prices are on the higher side.

This restaurant serves low-quality Japanese foods. The food quality is nothing but school cafeterias in Japan. The service is just so so. Don’t go to this place.

Truly typical japanese cuisine. Therefore, do not expect to fine sushi here. The environment is quite typical as well. Because the number of tables is quite limited, it is better to book in advance.

Just had dinner here. My favourite kind of place. Low key, super friendly and amazing food. Recommended booking as it gets booked out.

The place has a really nice and homy vibe. The service was fast and good, the server was attentive and the restaurant offers complementary miso to every guest, as well as a tris of mini appetizers. The lunch menu costs 15€ and you have a choice of a main and a starter. We got the takoyaki, which were awesome, and the vegetarian curry, which was tasty but a bit monotonous. The dessert were 5€ each and were good, but next time I would personally skip them. The matcha cheesecake was tiny for the price, the ice cream mochi was not great. Overall very nice.

One of the best honest-to-goodness Japanese restaurants in Florence. Good service, great tasting food and reasonable prices. If you are looking for a place that serves home-cooked Japanese meals, this is the place. The restaurant is very intimate so come early or call ahead. The people who serve here are also very open and easy to talk to. Niente altro da dire.

First time in Florence and this restaurant was a highlight - unique and tasty Japanese food with its own twist, super friendly and welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. We loved all the recommendations - octopus fried balls were amazing. We would highly recommend.
