I met Mestre Cabeça when I was 20 years old and started practicing capoeira. At almost 35 I can say that capoeira is more than a passion now and the Capoeira da Bahia group is a bit like a second home. Excellent organization, lessons divided by levels and always a lot of attention from the Mestre for the students. Capoeira is not a dance, it is fighting, music, discipline, philosophy of life and much more! Seeing is believing!

If you are also curious to discover what capoeira is, you have come to the right place: here you will have the opportunity to practice this wonderful art, learn about its history, its spirit that only those who grew up practicing it will be able to pass on to you. Mestre Cabeça, like few others, will in fact be able to fully convey to you the philosophy of capoeira, the one that he himself learned as a child between the alleys of Pelourinho and the beaches of Bahia. It is fortunate to have the opportunity to learn real Bahian capoeira in Florence without having to fly to Brazil! "Beware of imitations"!

Capoeira da Bahia is not just a capoeira "course"... it's a big family that always welcomes you with open arms! In addition to learning capoeira, you learn a culture... with new traditions and sounds! Thank you capoeira from Bahia❤

I started capoeira two months ago, finally realizing an intention that I had had for many years. I thought I would simply start a new discipline, for a change, to do something different from the usual gym but capoeira is turning out to be much more: I'm learning that capoeira is rhythm, energy, fun but also concentration, commitment, humility, growth. Above all, the most beautiful discovery was the Mestre Cabeça group: it really is a family, joining it was like arriving home. Those who arrive are welcomed with open arms, there is a really nice atmosphere, a positive energy that makes you feel good. For this reason I highly recommend capoeira to anyone who wants to get involved, trying their hand at a complete discipline but in particular, I recommend this group to anyone who is also looking for something that goes beyond simply doing sport, the capoeira that is done here is also about sharing, family.

I started doing capoeira almost by mistake, but once I started I never stopped. Mestre Cabeça and the CDB group transmitted to me all the passion for this ancient Afro-Brazilian art. In Mestre Cabeça's philosophy, a capoeirista is a fighter but is attentive to the safety of his "opponent", because capoeira is not violence but game and fun; a capoeirista is a musician because he learns to play and sing songs rich in history and traditions; a capoeirista is a dancer because he plays in time with the music. But above all, a capoerista is never alone.

I love Capoeira for many reasons, certainly one of the most important, the one that led me to start in 2007 and never stop, is my teacher, Mestre Cabeca. A teacher, a guide in the world of capoeira, but above all a Friend. The group is fantastic: energy, fun and friendship are the basis of every moment of sharing, be it a workout, an event or a simple beer in company. I am proud to be part of this group! Axe'

The overwhelming rhythms of Afro-Brazilian music, the culture, the positive energy, the complicity that is generated in a Capoeira roda. Mestre Cabeça packed all this into his suitcase when he left Bahia to spread his art in Florence. The result is a super close-knit and wonderful group: Capoeira da Bahia!
