Delightful small museum, very thought-provoking and fascinating history. It was pretty much empty when I went in and it was a welcome break from touristy areas. The staff were all lovely and helpful too. Be sure to leave some donation for this very deserving voluntary organisation! Highly recommended!

Inspiring story

We were shown around this fascinating little museum by a woman who is part of the misericordia. It is basically two things in one - first a sample of donations made to the order, and secondly a potted history of the misericordia. It was very interesting to see the religious imagery alongside the advances in medical assistance. It's quite difficult to find the entrance (and everyone was a little surprised we were looking for this museum and not the museum of the duomo) - go through the automatic doors (they only trigger if you go very close), turn right and get in the lift to floor 4.
