They will not provide a refund to our family as promised, and our family member died in their care!! The following has been submitted to the BBB as well as channels 2 &4. 1.) 7/9/20- Deposit of $500.00 was given to Pamela Redd (Family Care Director Clinical Liaison). Deposit was for Memory Care Unit #326 type 2 bedroom 2.) Check#**** Commerce Bank (processed through 7/15/20 Great Southern Bank). 3.) 8/16/20 Father passed away while in the REHAB at Garden Plaza of Florissant. 4.) 8/18/20 Called new person in charge, Georgia Rehme (Sales Director of Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living) to request the deposit refund. She advised me she would take care and begin the refund process. 5.) On or about 9/12/20 received call from lady trying to educate me on placing my mom in a memory care.**I stopped her in mid-conversation and advised her I was waiting for my refund. She claimed to have no idea & would look into the process of getting me the refund.** 6.) 10/19/20(12:59pm) Called Georgia about refund, she seemed confused and shocked I had not heard anything and referred me Casonya Johnson Executive Director. I spoke with Ms. Johnson And she informed me she could find nothing on my request and would call to make sure the process Would start. She told me it usually takes 45 days, however with the circumstances it would not take that long. I advised her of how long I had been patiently waiting. Ms. Johnson said she would call me back as soon as she would find out if they would expedite the refund payment. 7.) 10/22/20 Called Casonya back to inquire about the request of a rapid deposit refund. 10/29/20 I called back Ms. Casonya Johnson, left a message to call me back. Have not heard from her again. 8.) 10/30/20 Tried to reach another administrator, Cynthia Lewis Resident Assistant Care Director, left message, no return call. 9.) 10/31/20 Reached out and left message with Alice Williams, HR Director, no return call. 10.)11/5/20 Received email from Georgia Rehme about considering them for placement instead of refund. 11.) Have had problems trying to information on the person in charge of who owns the Senior Community at Garden Plaza. I would like my complete refund as promised per the contract, Pamela Redd (clinical liason), Georgia Rehme (Sales Director), and Casonya Johnson (Executive Director). My father died wile in their Rehab facility NOT the Memory Care facility. As stated, if my parents did not move into the memory care facility, a refund of the $500 was promised.

When my Sister was no longer able to live alone in her home I tried everything from private duty caregivers, rehabilitation and assistance from neighbors. After several more hospital visits we realized it was more affordable and socially beneficial for her to move into some type of care center. She couldn't live independently and she didn't need a nursing home. The Bridge at Florissant was just a few minutes from her home. The admissions process was a piece of cake and they even helped with the moving of her personal items/furniture. The cost wasn't cheap but neither was the environment or care she received. She was able to live the remainder of her days in a very elegant, caring and comfortable environment. Last year I had surgery which required me to need respite care and The Bridge was able to provide a furnished apartment with all the assisted living serviced for a very reasonable price. Needless to say I am more than pleased with the care and services my family has received from The Bridge at Florissant.

My 87 yr old dad broke his leg in Jan 2017 requiring surgery/rehab for over 2 months. My mom w mild dementia also needed care. The 2 bedroom/2 bath unit at The Bridge was perfect for their individual needs once he got out of rehab. Adjusting from their large 2 story home has been a challenge but many staff members have continually been attentive to be sure they are accommodated physically and emotionally. Even the chef caters to their requests to keep them happy. We have been looking for the "perfect" senior community for about 5 years hoping to convince my parents (dad) that the stress of maintaining a large home PLUS caring for a wife with dementia was too taxing on our whole family. We had been on the wait list at The Bridge for a couple of years and each time a unit came available we turned them down. It took his broken leg to force the change. We are still working on their acceptance of moving from the home they both loved which is a process; thus the reason for 4 stars. My hope is we are nearing the 5 star rating as they continue to join more activities and grow with their new friends that they have made. The atmosphere at The Bridge is VERY clean with manageable hallways that are not ridiculously long to go from one event to the other like some places we have visited. The respect and care for Veterans is also something we cherish; there is a Veterans museum room that is a "must see". After immersing ourselves with all of the comparisons between senior living communities, we are relieved to have found this safe, caring, clean new HOME for our parents.

Garden Plaza is a very nice facility and it offers all of the amenities that I wanted for my relatives who now reside at this senior living community. It is very well decorated inside with well landscaped and manicured grounds outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful to the residents and their family as well. This is the only facility that I know of that has a Veterans Room. What a wonderful way to honor veterans by displaying military memorabilia from the armed forces. I am very pleased with Garden Plaza and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted, β€œthe next best thing to being at home”, for their family member.

The Sales staff listened to me explain the situation/condition of my Aunt and Uncle. They expressed compassion and concern for their wellbeing. After answering my concerns, Georgia explained the services available at Garden Plaza of Florissant and how my Aunt and Uncle would be treated. Garden Plaza of Florissant is so much better than what was promised. Every staff member I have encountered is genuinely concerned about the care and well being of the residents. Staff communicates clearly and timely. They offer suggestions as to how the family can help make the transition as smooth as possible. My Uncle loves the facility and can't wait to get more involved in the activities provided. Garden Plaza of Florissant; THEY ARE A CARING TEAM.

Garden Plaza was a dream come true and a timely blessing for our family. A year ago, my 88-year-old grandmother (whom I affectionately refer to as "Gi Gi") had a fall while living in her independent living facility apartment. This created an instant turn of events which culminated in her having a hospital stay, followed by a 6-7 week stay in rehab, then her needing immediate transfer to somewhere other than an independent living arrangement. Needless to say, this caused me and my co-caregiver (my uncle) and I to have to find urgent and affordable living arrangements for her. We wanted her to still have the luxury of the surroundings that her 5-Star independent living facility had as well as the cost-effectiveness that we could afford, while still being located near me in North County. I was at a dead-end for a while and my time was running out for us to find such a perfect fit, because my Gi Gi had completed rehab and was now paying a great amount for her stay at the rehab facility---by the day! Yet, GOD sent us an angel in Georgia Rehme, the Director of Sales at Garden Plaza! Not only did Georgia go far and above and out of her way to expedite the process of getting my Gi Gi approved for their facility, but she also made it her business to work with me on the phone throughout much of her days (even once while driving to her own Dr.'s appointment after work). She was tireless in walking me through the intricacies of the Medicare and private pay requirements of the rehab facility to get my grandmother placed at Garden Plaza with warp speed and within her budget! The staff, the facility, and the level of care since then, have been more than fantastic as well. My Gi Gi loves her luxury surroundings, she loves and has developed great relationships with some of her daily care providers and is she cared for with the utmost consideration and compassion. The Director of the facility, Tasanya, is also amazing! She seems to know everyone's needs personally and has worked very closely with me to help my Gi Gi maintain some level of her independence, while working with me to protect her from trying to do too much. This woman even works on holidays and Sundays! Need I say more? I am greatly pleased with our choice of Garden Plaza of Florissant as the new home for my Gi Gi. I can't wait until we can visit with her again and I look forward to going inside to spend some time with her in her lovely apartment!

My mother has been a resident of The Bridge for almost a year. The level of care and support she receives is outstanding. The staff is caring and on top of any care needs. I appreciate the kind and thoughtful way that residents and visitors are treated. The facility is well-appointed and clean. I highly recommend looking at The Bridge if you are looking for assisted living for a loved one or for yourself.

I was recommended to Garden Palza of Florissant by a friend. Her mother is currently a resident and Garden Plaza and she stated that the staff is wonderful. They truly care about her mother and her needs. I Googled Garden Plaza to see the reviews and I was shocked about the previous review. I personally spoke with Shay and she was informing, calm, understanding, compassionate above all, she treated me with patience and kindness. I am new to this process and she was able to answer all of my questions. I truly did not receive the same experience as the other person, I am curious if she actually spoke with the Director of Sales. Overall my experience with Shay was truly amazing, not to mention that my grandmother needs more care than what Garden Plaza is able to offer But that didn't stop her from answering my questions and leaving me with a peace of mind.

Facilities like this are preying on the desperation of families needing solutions. There has been nothing easy about this transition. There are still ongoing issues concerning the condition of the apartment, medications, bathing, laundry, food, the physician and other staff. We were seriously considering another move but our loved one seems somewhat content even with the multitude of ongoing problems. Despite all of this, we are hopeful that things will get resolved so we don't have to continually chase people around to make sure they are doing their job and fulfilling all the promises. We had to get A Place For Mom involved since they were they referring party. We were reassured that these circumstances would be resolved but I have not been convinced as of yet.

Shay was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the entire process. It was a pleasure to discuss everything about our situation with her. She does it well.

Communication with maintenance and management could be improved! But overall, my mother is so happy here, her place is absolutely beautiful! The community is so quiet and inviting. I feel the wrinkles will be smoother as time passes. Beautiful place for my mother!!

Garden Plaza is an amazing place!! From management, nursing, staff, you will not be disappointed. The facility is like a 5 star hotel. They have activities for residents. The grounds surrounding the plaza are lovely with small lake & there are plenty of outdoor spots to sit to enjoy nature. Shay made the process easy to get established. Please check this out. A pleasant surprise in Florissant.

Horrible customer service from a Director person named Shay. She rushed me as I was asking questions and seemed confused as to why I was transferred to her. Gave me and my grandmother a bad taste in our mouths. You should have a sit down and talk to her or replace her with someone who has compassion. No wonder they only have 3 stars

I have enjoyed working with the staff at Garden Plaza of Florissant. They made me feel so comfortable in discussing the type of care I wanted for my cousin and her husband. All of my questions were answered. Right away I knew this was the memory care facility that they needed. I have a peaceful mind knowing they would be care for daily of all their needs and wants.
