Usual Premier Inn fayre, room ok but not as clean as I expected after all their blurb about special COVID cleaning! However shower good, and there's was the facility to make tea and coffee and the lively staff, who couldn't be faulted, supplied extra tea bags and milk when we needed some. The adjoining restaurant was awful, service, food, everything. Don't recommend the restaurant but the hotel is worth a stay if you're not overly fussy.

Large premier inn ideally situated 10 -15 minutes drive from the channel tunnel. Rooms were clean & tidy & the gastro pub next door, while unremarkable provides what a traveller needs. The hotel emails you to say there's no air con but a fan is provided in each room - it's needed because the rooms were very warm even though the weather was unremarkable.

I have marked down the room as there was no air conditioning, otherwise 5 star all round. We arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and there jugs of ice water at reception, room was clean and aired. We added dinner and breakfast as part of the deal. Can’t fault the restaurant or the hotel except lack of ac. Recommended if your using Le Shuttle.

Stayed here on the evening before travelling via the channel tunnel to break up a 14 hour journey. Usually Premier Inns are okay but this one is baked by the sun on summer days to the point your room is around 30 degrees Celsius on an evening. We were immediately surprised when we saw staff delivering stand up fans to rooms on our floor when we arrived. It was so hot the room had 2 stand up fans which had no impact. Windows would only open a couple of inches and were also ineffective to let some of the outside cooler air in. There is clearly a known issue with unbearable temperatures in the summer in this hotel but they are trying to blag it. We ended up having to soak bath towels to put over us to try cool down. It was so warm they dried out and had to be soaked again 4 times during the night! The whole family only managed a couple of hours sleep. Wouldn’t have been so bad if the room was fairly cheap like most Premier Inns but we paid circa £130 room only for this ‘not-fit-for purpose’ hotel room that was extremely unpleasant to stay in. We reported it to Premier Inn who dismissed us stating they don’t provide air con so they would do nothing. Ultimately their promise of a good night sleep was not upheld and they would not offer any kind of compensation. Do not recommend staying here in the summer if you’re counting on getting some rest before embarking on a journey.

Hotel is in good condition and very close to eurotunnel. Was very warm during our stay in July on a wet day so would be ridiculous on a hot day. No air con. Large free car park. Pub serving food located in car park. Fine for 1 night stay if you are travelling on tunnel next day. Would avoid otherwise.

Great service and very polite, parking great. All staff were great especially Sujan who provided 5 star service deserves a pay rise, Top lad. Oh and forgot about Reece. Restaurant staff are great!

Cold room paper thin walls. Not in any way usual premier inn standard. Attached pub/restaurant had no tables all night, front counter was letting customer after customer know (he was very good). The attached pub massively dated. Staff stressed. Cant comment on evening food but the place was half empty despite apparently full. Breakfast stone cold, again way off usual standard. All in all pretty horrific.

Nice hotel with easy access to the Euro Tunnel. However, the rooms were roasting hot and the air conditioning was conveniently broken. The fan and hairdryer were so weak there was almost no point in having them. The window could not be opened to allow the room to cool down either. Furthermore, the rooms are not sound proof in the slightest and we could hear other guests all night.

To say this Premier Inferno is hot would be an understatement. I understand that we're experiencing a heatwave, but these rooms were unbearably hot all night into the morning when we had to strategise our exit to avoid excessive sweating after a cold shower. There is no air con and the fan provided by the hotel was absolutely useless, as was the one we brought from home after reading other reviews that say this place was hot. The security device on the window prevents it opening far enough to get any cold air into the room. It was like trying to sleep in a deep fryer. I cannot fathom how Premier Inn can justify selling rooms at this place and I feel awful for the anyone who has to work there and deal with not only the heat but also customers complaining about the heat.

We stayed here before getting the Eurotunnel early the next day. It was your typical Premier Inn but I have to mark it as 1 stars because the room was unbearably hot, there was a fan in the room but it was useless. I was sweating all night, and my wife said she was nearly at the point of sleeping in the car, luckily we left the hotel at 3am to get the first train across. Definitely won't be staying here again unless the rooms list that they have air conditioning because if it's broken you can get a refund through the good night guarantee. We would have eaten at the restaurant next door to the hotel but they said they were fully booked, that meant driving to find some food because there wasn't anything else close by.

We had a really lovely stay here on our way to Disneyland. Perfect for access to tunnel and a lovely clean, family room. Breakfast in the hotel opposite was brilliant, £20 for 2 adults and our 4 children are for free. Loads of choice. Would definitely return again.

Good budget hotel , right by the channel tunnel entrance . We walked into town but taxi back as we thought it was a bit far after exploring the town and beach. Plenty of parking , but not much around locally only a Sainsburys which is handy for fuel.Good position for exploring that part of the Kent coast . 1 star dropped due to there being date expired snacks in the vending machine .Also date expired sauces on the breakfast condiment tray .The sauces were replaced and we received an apology from the manager .We informed reception about the vending machine , but they didn't seem able to do much about it apart from making a note about it.

Room was small, unbelievably hot even though a floòr standing fan was provided, as the window was restricted there was no fresh air. The room next door was the janitors which had an external and internal door which were constantly slamming, making early wake up unavoidable. The breakfast was well short of the usual Premiere Inn standard. On the plus side the staff were lovely and deserve a badly needed upgrade to the hotel for their guests.

If you’d like to feel the wonderful heat of the Sahara desert as you try to sleep then this is the place for you! They provide a fan which is weaker than a person blowing air at you all night long. With a core temperature of around 40 degrees it feels almost like I’m a pastry in an oven. Really is an unreal experience and couldn’t get a wink of sleep, what a time it was!

The rooms were clean, I had no issues, the bedsheets were changed, the floor was hoovered, the dust was wiped, no issues there. The toilet had a very bad lingering smell, and the vent was making a really loud annoying noise, but I figured it out to turn it off eventually. I saw a lot of reviews about noise, but it was not bad at all, barely heard anyone coming in and out.

When travelling around the country, I tend to stay in Premier Inn's for the night as they are really comfortable and nearly always attached to a nice friendly restaurant. And this one was no exception. The staff are always welcoming. Good locations. Comfortable nights sleep.

On entry to room 204 we were hit by a wave of heat radiating from the room. We then went over to the window to air the room and found that it was already open. To our dismay, the window only opened a crack due to ‘safety reasons’. Absolutely no air was coming through the window. The room felt about 30 degrees even though the outside temperature was a cool 17 degrees and cloudy with a breeze. We decided to speak to reception to see if they had another room available which was cooler and had a window that opened fully, perhaps on the ground floor. The staff member was polite and said they had no other rooms, all rooms were the same temperature and all windows have restricted opening. He did give us another fan which was appreciated. We tried to get some sleep before our early wake up and long drive the next day. Me and my partner were both wide awake trying to find a position that provided some relief to the oppressive heat. The fans wafted warm air which just made our throats dry and sore. The bed and pillow smelt strongly of damp which I suspect was due to the past occupants sweating profusely onto the mattress. A terrible night’s sleep. Avoid!

I recently stayed at Premier Inn, Folkestone (Channel Tunnel) and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the location was convenient for my travels, I was disappointed by the constant noise within the room and the poor quality of the mattress. One of the most significant issues I encountered was the persistent noise disturbance from people walking and talking. It seemed as though the soundproofing of the room was inadequate, as I could clearly hear conversations and footsteps from neighboring rooms and corridors. This made it challenging to relax and get a good night's sleep, which is crucial for any hotel stay. Furthermore, the quality of the mattress was subpar. It lacked the necessary support and comfort expected from a hotel of this caliber. As a result, I found it difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position, and my sleep was further disrupted by the noise issues mentioned earlier. While I understand that hotel experiences can vary, these issues greatly impacted my overall satisfaction during my stay at Premier Inn, Folkestone (Channel Tunnel). It's disappointing to have paid for a hotel room where tranquility and restful sleep were compromised. I hope that the management of Premier Inn takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements to address the noise insulation and mattress quality. It's crucial for a hotel to prioritize the comfort and well-being of their guests. In summary, my stay at Premier Inn, Folkestone (Channel Tunnel) was marred by constant noise disturbances and a subpar mattress. I would hesitate to recommend this hotel to others until these issues are effectively resolved. Please note that this review is based on my personal experience and others' experiences may vary.

Very friendly hotel staff, room was very clean and had everything it needed. Breakfast also included next door at the pub, close to the motorway and Channel Tunnel. I couldn’t say I had any problems. WiFi could be potentially be stronger, bit of a con charging people £5 just to get faster internet…

  • 2/5 Danielle W. 9 months ago on Google
Great location for the channel tunnel, but the rooms could definitely do with an upgrade. No air con means it is impossible to sleep. Windows don't open far, and the fan just blows around hot air. Unfortunately, the walls are thin, so you can hear everyone walking past in the corridor ( and when you can't sleep, it just makes it worse). The hair dryer blew up when I was drying my hair, and the TV remote didn't work. This was the most expensive Premier Inn we've stayed at and by far the worst. Shame, really!

Usually stay here when using the channel tunnel. Always clean and comfortable rooms. Which are good value for overnight or short stays. The adjacent pub where you get your meals is reasonable price with a great outside seating area.

  • 3/5 Ross P. 7 months ago on Google
The hotel was very very hot. The rooms had a air-con vent this would be a great hotel if it was reinstated. When I arrived there was no hot water but in fairness it was resolved by the morning. The staff were very friendly.

Sadly on this occasion, not up to the usual standard. It was very busy... Naturally, it goes with the perfect location for Le Shuttle. Food service was ok under the circumstances, but a tad cold, as was the breakfast on the passe this morning. Our room was ok, but the bed felt decidedly damp. So overall this is the reason for 3* review. I must say, its not the norm for a Premier Inn. Our outward bound stay was marginally better.

  • 1/5 Robert V. 7 months ago on Google
The reason I gave a poor score was the rooms for me were super hot so much that I had a real bad sleep. The did have fans but for me this did not work. The room were clean and excellent so other than this it would have been a 4 or 5

Stayed 2 nights 17th & 18th Nov. They were polite on the phone when I had to ring ahead. Receptionist was welcoming and efficient. Top floor room was perfectly clean and I was lucky enough it was quiet. Bed extremely comfortable. Weather was cold outside so didn't suffer with the stuffy room others had mentioned. Windows open which makes a difference to me. Good location near the motorway but I couldn't hear it from the car park side where I was. Didn't try the pub. I would stay again.

Disgusting service at this premier Inn. Booked to make journey over France using le shuttle easier. Was horrific. Despite all information and booking emails stating I had paid in full, rude employee stated I had not paid and made me pay again. Kids very upset crying from this and was terrible didn't get them to sleep until 5am. Was told if I paid I would get refund within 48 hours. This was also a lie. Been almost two weeks and no refund or communication from complaining to premier inn. Also extra pillows were not sealed and had hairs. Bedroom area carpet Floor had pubic hairs on it 🤢

I am pleased to share this review. We had a one day booking for a family. We were assisted by Mark on arrival who was decent and helpful. He gave us Room 308 which on check in found out to be smelling damp, old punched walls, and cold due to room heating not working. I requested a different room and Mark obliged immediately with Room 18. It was ok, worn out carpet, but decent. After having slept the night, I can safely say that the additional beds had very bad mattresses. They gave me back pains. But, for £43.50 for a night, it was decent and near to LeShuttle ride that was only 10 min drive away. Positives: Mark and Dana from reception were very helpful. Dana assisted me when the electric connection tripped in my room and she quickly assisted me leaving her dinner. She was smiling and eager to help. I would give Mark and Dana both 100/100. They should be promoted. The building has spacious free parking which is very helpful. But the rooms need to be upgraded and that is not a reflection on staff but on Whitebread, the company that owns the chain. We also enjoyed breakfast which was fresh and fairly priced. The staff in adjoining pub were ok. If you are looking for a single night stay as an individual it is ok, but for family with old rooms, I think you should consider other places. If you are on a small budget this place is luxury. Thank you, Premier Inn Folkestone - Mark and Dana.

The staff here are very welcoming. But what let this Premier Inn down is the quality of the breakfast - the bacon looked like it was cooked under a warm lightbulb, the mushrooms were actually raw, the tomato was warm mush, the hash browns were so wet they fell apart, and the black pudding was rock hard on the outside and barely cooked on the inside. I didn't try the scrambled egg, because it looked like rubber. Plus point for properly cooked sausage. Won't be staying here again.

Booked a flexible tariff. Had to cancel but Premier Inn won't refund even though they say it will be paid back. First said it would take 10 days, waited and called then they said 15 days, waited again then they said 20 days and guess what still no refund. My last time with Premier Inn as I'm now going to have to take legal action for breach of contract. Do not trust them... Used to be good.... Now terrible customer service

For the most part the food was really good and value for money. I however had the nachos which look great on the menu. I added the spicy chicken too so was over £10. When it came it was like half a standard pack of doritos soft squeeze cheese little bit of chopped red onion and what looked like chopped up chicken nuggets, only 6 small bits for £3 didn't get sour cream or anything. Tea plate size plate. When home hungry. The other meals, mix grill and a couple of meat platter were great value and tasty so I'm told!!!

We always stay at this Premier Inn when getting the channel tunnel, service is always excellent and it's so close to the terminal (5 mins in car). Would highly recommend! The food at the pub next door is also very good!

Perfect location for the tunnel. Pretty much self service in the hotel, rooms are clean. Book the restaurant next door ahead of time. Food is really good and very reasonable. Breakfast buffet is great, hash browns and black pudding included.

Standard premier inn accommodation clean with a comfortable bed, a little dated but functional and provides familiarity where ever you stay. The connected pub provided perfectly acceptable food in a timely manor during my visit The overall rating for me is ok

It was awful. At first, we didn't know where the place was so we couldn't go because the conformation email came AFTER I checked in with my 13 year old daughter. Then when we finally did arrive, the parking lot was full was we had to park far away. After we checked in, a couple of minutes later, a staff came and said someone from the floor under us was complaining we were too loud when we didn't make a peep. We had to keep the TV volume down and tip-toe around. The room stank of pee and it was so strong I couldn't sleep. It was also very dirty and it felt uncomfortable. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place.

  • 5/5 Geoff S. 2 years ago on Google
We arrived quite late at night for a few hours sleep before boarding the tunnel. There was plenty of parking available and the area was clean and tidy. The young man on the check in desk helped us out with the self check in service and generally provided a great service in a cheerful manner. The room was clean and quiet, just what we needed!

A lovely stay and the staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was top notch and easy to navigate. Finding my room was simple. I asked for an iron and ironing board and it was brought to me very quickly and the iron was brilliant which was unexpected for a hotel iron. Thank you for helping me feel relaxed before my nerve racking journey on my own, on the eurotunnel for the first time. The only thing I’d like to see change is the pillow size or more of an option but that’s only if I were to stay more than a night or 2.

OK a staff shortage was visible instantly as we waited to be served on entry .. But all good 👍 from there £9.50 meant I could eat want I wanted for breakfast 😋 and drinks were included wonderful choices fabously cooked set out well I'm sure I had about five breakfasts well worth the money xx

  • 5/5 Kevin H. 2 years ago on Google
As with all premire inns, the room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable, the the only downside was a staff shortage I the restaurant so we couldn't get an evening meal, but there are plenty of choices not to far away so it wasn't a problem, and as always, the breakfast was excellent.

  • 3/5 Rajesh D. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was clean and exactly what you'd expect from Premier Inn. But the room was unbelievably hot with no air conditioning. The hotel provided one fan for a family room with four people in it. The staff did get us another fan, but it really only pushed the hot air around. However, a very convenient location for the channel tunnel, with ample parking.

  • 4/5 Lou T. 1 year ago on Google
Decent hotel and friendly staff, the adjoining pub had good food and a nice breakfast. The room however was ridiculously hot and stuffy, window only opens 2 inches which does nothing. A fan was in the room but didn’t seem to do anything and sounded like it would take off. We couldn’t sleep, a shame but Premier Inn needs to sort that out.

  • 3/5 Holly N. 1 year ago on Google
Basic but fine. We booked a double plus travel cot but the cot wasn't in the room so had to ask for one. Doesn't have air con but had a good big fan. Fine for a quick stop before getting on the tunnel though

On route there were diversions. We called hotel to check route from a few minutes away. Upon arrival the man on reception just wanted to continuously mock. I don't mind a joke but he did this about a dozen times and was just rude after a while. Room was like a sauna. In the night it was over 30!!!! With windows bolted so hardly opening , no air could get in. The fan in the room did not work and no air con. It was not even a particularly hot day. The only solution was to offer sheets, advise there was no room and tell us the first floor is always roasting. Nobody slept

  • 2/5 Dennis M. 1 year ago on Google
Not the best Premier Inn that I've stayed in. The Reception staff were friendly and efficient, but the room was stuffy due to the air conditioning not working. A fan was provided, but it was a bit noisy. The adjacent restaurant was average and my steak pie was still cold in the middle. The breakfast offering lacked sausages due to a shortage throughout the Premier Inn chain (so we were told). Very disappointing and not worthy of a recommendation despite its convenient location close to Le Shuttle.

  • 2/5 Jemma H. 1 year ago on Google
The room is filthy. Hair in the plug hole. Toilet dirty. Massive hole in the carpet. Happy to take money for meal deal but then u can't go in the pub cos fully booked even 2 weeks before ? Now got to wait for it back. Reception man was nice enough just a shame everything else is poor. Water also tastes funny in the room. Room also smells of ammonia not pleasant. Pub manager was rude when we asked to book a table. Then got told well you can come and order at the bar and EVENTUALLY we will get something to you. In the end went elsewhere much better and the food was stunning 5 minutes up the road! The valiant sailor would recommend the food as it was amazing. Poor premier inn. We stay in hotels nearly every weekend and this has got to be one of the dirtiest we've been to.

Rooms are ok, have all your basic requirements. Bed is comfortable and bathroom includes bayliss and harding shampoo and body wash. Breakfast was a little disappointing but overall stay was fine.

Modern and fresh. Room was comfortable and shower was nice and hot too. Room was a little warm and no air conditioning to cool it, however there is a fan in the room. Good for the stay we needed before heading off to France the following morning.

We ate in restaurant wich was clean and airy. Roast dinner beef was wafer thin but tough couldn't cut it with ordinary knife had to use a steak knife. Waited along time for plates to be cleared which was unusual as normally service is good. Wasn't asked if meal was okay and couldn't find anyone to give feedback to. Probably won't return!!!

Nice comfortable beds, room well presented, clean. O ly problem was linked to water refilling cistern with high pitched noise. Also seemed to be a bigger problem with similar water refill across hotel during the night. Mentioned to staff on leaving.

  • 1/5 Fiona S. 1 year ago on Google
This was easily the worst night's sleep our family of four (2 adults, 2 children) have ever experienced. We barely slept a wink as the room temperature was well over 30 degrees celsius. The windows hardly opened and the fan supplied was very noisy and just moved the hot air around the room. We were on the 1st floor of the hotel and the night was cool, so not during the heatwave. When I contacted customer services to complain they mererly said that their 'Good Night Sleep' guarantee did not apply in this instance as there was no air-conditioning in the room (which we already knew at the time of booking) and that basically if it was too hot for us it was due to the lack of air-conditioning which wasn't their fault as the services included were listed on their website. Surely every paying guest has a basic right to expect to be able to sleep? What an utterly pointless guarantee to promote and what an utterly shoddy response from such a large chain. Shame on you.

Great value hotel, lovely luxury rooms. Great beds really comfortable and choice of pillows. TV and tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms, along with a hairdryer. Shower and bath and toilet really nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can have breakfast in French Connection restaurant opposite. Great selection for breakfast buffet breakfast and cooked breakfast. You can also have cooked dinner in the restaurant as well lots to choose from.

Perfect location for the channel tunnel, rooms were clean and large. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the linen smelt lovely. A bit of noise from the bar and restaurant but that went once it had closed Plenty of free parking Generic hotel but absolutely fine for a stopover

The reception man was very nice but. We had a meal at next door pub. Without a shadow of A doubt the worst meal I have ever eaten aside from one I might have cooked myself as a youth. Plate cold, finger prints, the food was absolutely horrible. A Burger bun that was that white tasteless stuff. A burger that was just warm and a slice of cheese that had not even begun to melt as the rest of plate was cold. A coleslaw that was spectacular in its colour, bright orange, and its taste , filthy. The chips were just warm but seems to be made out of something other than potato’s. We were tired and cold and desparate to go to bed so we kept quiet as honestly the chance of redeeming the situation was nil. The serving person was very nice so much so that we did not in any way want to upset her. Do not what ever you do eat there or if you do don’t be surprised if it is awful.

Location: Easy to get to. Lots of parking spaces but only 2 disabled bays available very close to the main entrance (others a little bit further away). At this time a face mask is required when walking around inside the hotel. Check in after 3pm on day of arrival, check out before midday on departure. Reception: Automatic front doors. Staff are friendly and will help all they can. Snack machines are available as are some seats. Room: Clean and tidy. Firm beds. TV with Freeview. No air-conditioning just manual temperature control that was different to the type they showed in their instructions for but wasn't hard to work it out. The bath is high but narrow and hard to step in and out of to have a shower from the fixed mixer, there are handles to help but one was in need of repair as it was dangerous (see photo) and this was reported to reception but they had no maintenance person available. Plenty of hot water and no pressure drop. Towels were rough and a bit to small. Would I stay again? With all things taken into consideration including the price of the room, yes I would.

A useful little stop-off for anyone travelling to France. Don't expect too much from the rooms, they are perfectly adequate but nothing else. Breakfasts are filling and tea and coffee are provided. Location is close to EuroTunnel entrance.
