Pretty nature preserve. Definitely worth going to see. Parking on street is free or there is a lot with beach access for $2 per hour plus service fee. Information sign with a small toll box is in front. Rate is $1 per person. Honor system as nobody there to collect. Blacktop path leads back to preserve and beach where you get a closeup view of the lighthouse. Lighthouse is approximately 1600 feet or so off shore. The hidden gem here is the preserve. Starting with graffiti black top roadway. Bring your spray paint it appears to be acceptable. Nobody saying don’t do that. Frown that some people get carried away and painted some of the trees. Seriously people use the little brain god gave you and don’t spoil a good thing. Lots of driftwood on the beach and lots of natural areas to explore. Well worth the trip.

This is a great place to get away from people and walk the beach with lots of shells and shark teeth if you get there early. It is a 1/4 mile graffiti walk back to the beach. You can park on the street, or they have a lot on the side of the entrance. The Morris Island Lighthouse is literally right in front of you when you hit the beach. Driftwood all over the beach with huge rocks! Take a walk and enjoy yourself or sit on the rocks and chill out. This is a great beach!

Graffiti-art filled 1/4 mile walk to subdued beach with washed-up timber and iron structures. You get a good view of southern Morris Island where Union soldiers boated across inlet before the attack on Battery Wagner in Glory. Worth the visit. Limited street parking available before path (4-6 spots).

We hiked in on the main path with all of the graffiti. Some very cool art with a few rude comments mixed in. The beach was not at all crowded. It was a nice quiet place to spend a morning. We walked back to our car via the beach. We found lots of cool shells along the way. While we were there there were several dolphins just off of the sandbar near the lighthouse.

Absolutely spectacular! What a stunning way to spend the most perfect Sunday morning. It was around 70 degrees, the calmest breeze and not a cloud in the sky. There was some street parking left, but there is also a public pay lot. Unfortunately this is one of the very few places in Charleston where you CAN’T bring your dog; it is a protected bird and nature sanctuary and you risk a fine of $500 if you bring Fido, FYI. The walk is short and enjoyable. Bring some spray paint and add some love to the blacktop mural you walk on throughout the way. You can ride your bike, and once you hit the sand toward the beach, there is a bike rack station where you can lock up and walk barefoot the rest of the way. The beach with Morris Island Lighthouse lookout is fantastic! This is the closest view you can get to the lighthouse without being on a boat. My new favorite spot. The driftwood and graffiti art add to the sentiment. If you need some zen time, this is the place.

We enjoyed seeing the lighthouse from a nearby beach. Was also fun seeing the dolphins, and seagulls diving for fish. It was not very busy on the Sunday afternoon (in September) that we went. Be aware that it's a quarter mile walk from the closest parking.

Beautiful place. Driftwood on the beach. Lighthouse views. Sunset here was great to see. The graffiti on the rocks kills some of the vibe. Like if they want to graffiti the road, that’s one thing, but the jetty rocks should be left alone.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The beach is quiet and cut off from the tourists area it’s so peaceful here.

The old road leading back to the oceanfront is an incredible collage of graffiti. My daughter was most interested in this. There's also something surrealistic about the driftwood forms on the beach, think Yves Tanguy.

This is a great little area that's away from the crowds and is fantastic for taking photos of birds while taking it easy on the beach. The trail is a partially paved roadway for foot traffic only. The beaches are clean with deadwood in spots that are very cool. You can see the lighthouse but can not get to it unless you have a boat. You should be careful in this area when straying away from the beach due to snakes. Don't wander in the woods without proper footwear, and no, sandals or open toe shoes do not cut it. I'll add more pics once I've edited them.

Great preserve during any season or time of day. Went multiple times during our stay on Folly. The walk with local graffiti is so unique. Seemed to attract many photographers. Though dogs are not allowed, in comparison to other Folly public beaches, there were plenty of people who ignored that rule and no one seemed to mind.

It's a nice quiet beach during the off-season. We visited in November. The park gate is closed so you'll need to park at the nearby public parking lot. The lot has meters that cost $2/hour. The walk from the parking lot to the beach is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. The views are gorgeous and unobstructed by buildings. The waters in this area are choppy and dangerous with a strong current. Swimming at this spot is prohibited for a good reason, but farther down the island the swimming is safer.

This is a really cool beach! There's a little box that says $1 admission per person. There's a lot of graffiti on the road leading up to the beach. The water was freezing and there were signs saying that it's too dangerous to swim. You get a great view of the lighthouse. There's also a lot of driftwood on the beach. It's really cool to explore and take pictures.

Parking is quiet limited so try to get out early and park on the side of the road. Slowly make your way out to the beach while checking out all of the graffiti on the road beneath your feet. Worth reading sometimes. Photos never do it justice but lots of cool spots for pictures. Lots of driftwood and angles to take pictures of the lighthouse in the background. Pretty cool spot!

Finally made it to the lighthouse after all this time . We made an unplanned day trip and had an awesome time. Really quite and not too many people . It’s also fun getting to the lighthouse , follow the graffiti road !

It was a nice get away from more crowded beaches. Lots of shells to sort through and the lighthouse adds some character to the ocean view. It's a bit of a walk to get to the water and even further if you want to be secluded so keep that in mind when you decide what to bring. Also you can park in front of the houses on the road, just make sure you are completely off the pavement (told by locals while there).

Located at the tip of Folly Island, there is a half-mile road (covered in graffiti) that ends at a sand pathway which leads to the beach and the breakwater where you can view the Morris Island Lighthouse. The sand beach is quite shallow for a bit and I did not try walking out too far. There are signs indicating the riptides so I wouldn't recommend going any deeper than your ankles. The dunes are absolutely off-limits. Please respect the signs and don't walk on the dunes which will cause damage. Pack it in, pack it out. Don't litter!

Greta place to visit for a beautiful view with a nice walk that’s a quick walk to get to. The graffiti on the path is fun to look at while you walk. If you can get here during sunrise it’s worth the trip.

What a fantastic place and hidden treasure this was for our trip to folly, been going to this beach for over 30 years and never knew it was there until a shop had a mini map of how to get there!! The walk is short and filled with graffiti from previous visitors which were quote unique to very few vulgar to mostly works of art that people shared

Absolutely beautiful area down at the end of Folly. Always see lots of wildlife— dolphins, jellies, birds. Not crowded in the off season, lots of room for walking and finding private space.

One of the most beautiful locations on the planet. Donate to the Lighthouse Restoration Fund to keep it lit and beautiful. At low tide one can paddle out to the light house. I visit at the full moon. It’s often empty of people and I have peace with the universe! The walk there is entertainment. Read the road… you’ll see what I mean when you visit.

If you have the time and inclination, get up to enjoy a sunrise. It is spectacular!
