Dapa is a really interesting independent coffee spot in the heart of Formby village. Surrounded by chains, it is a rare and welcome change of pace! The decor is different, interesting, and to some a little odd. But personally I'm a big fan, and appreciate the risks they took differentiating themselves from the local competition. Service was quick and efficient. The coffee is INCREDIBLY bitter, at first. But once you get past that, it's actually very nice. The latte art was okay, which immediately makes it better than almost every other Cafe nearby, but there's definitely still improvements to be made here as the milk clearly wasn't textured right (see photo). Highchairs and outdoor seating were both available.

We decided to take a pass on the local Costa and give Dapa Coffee a try today 02.10.2022. After calming T-Reb we entered quietly and found a quiet spot that resembled the local National Park. Lovely peaceful little coffee house with cakes and beers for use on the school run. Back to what you want to know, Latte and coffee Orio Cookie concoction that the lovely member of staff advised that she normally does as a bit of a show stopper on both were amazing. We shared as you do Lemon cake and Rocky Road both well especially the Rocky Road one of the best richest tasting versions we have had. Good show all round special thanks to the member of of staff with the show stopper good to have share a bit of pride in what you do it makes a difference in whatever we do, thanks again.

This used to be a great coffee shop when first opened. Great coffee and cakes. Over the last year its really gone downhill. In the summer I waited 30 minutes for a coffee. Another time when ordering food it took 45 minutes to bring out 4 sandwiches. Dirty plates and cups were piled everywhere. Currently staff seem like they don't want to be there. This week I went in for a coffee and cake. Hardly any cakes and they had run out of coffee beans (a coffee shop!!) so another wait. Just seems like the owners don't care.

Saturday morning and this little place is busy but only has 2 staff out front so it took a little while to get served. Looking at the menu, breakfast offerings are limited. However pastries priced at £3.95 is a little bit over the top for the very average croissant offerings that they had. That’s London pricing for a fabulous looking filled croissant. Coffee did not taste good. Toast was made from the cheapest loaf possible. I had high hopes for this little local business but alas it was a disappointment.

We will definitely not be returning here. First of all no prices on the menu. We ordered a cheese and ham toasty a cake, a tea and a latte. The tea and coffee arrived, teabag stuck in a glass cup of water nothing provided to put the used bag on, had to use the napkin. A ridiculously long wait for the toasty, which was dreadful, not toasted properly, dry and little filling, most certainly not worth anything like the £6.50 that we paid for it. On complaining the staff were disinterested. A very disappointing experience.

Advertise two vegan toasted sandwich options, but neither are available. Nothing else vegan. Either start taking stock control seriously, or remove vegan options from the menu, then you won't disappoint people.

I recently moved to the area and one thing I love is a good coffee and I found it at Dapa Coffee. Despite there being other coffee shops in the village, this place has everything covered. I have to say, i’m fussy when it comes to coffee but Dapa has a great variety. My oat milk latte was incredible! There is a nice feel in the place and a range of seats/tables both inside and outside. They even have my favourite beer on draft… Moretti! What more can you ask for? Oh yes, and they got you covered if you are a vegan too!! Also, I love supporting local independent businesses, especially in these current times. The staff are helpful and polite too, this goes a long way. Dapa, I will be seeing very soon. 👍🏻🙏🏻

2 days on the trot I've been in and 3 negative experiences centred around rude staff without customer facing skills. Day 1 - drinks brought over without a word and put down. Day 2 - served people ahead of me and then a "£16.50, tap there....". Pause, I waited for a "please", nothing. When I said "please?" I got a direct stare from the boy behind the counter arguing that he did say please. A small note should you wish to go places in this world which I'm sure you do and can. No matter the job you're in, or how you're feeling, especially in the service industry... 'please, thank you' and a smile. Without it people will vote with their feet as I do. The only reason I didn't walk away was as I joined 2 other people late on. Terrible attitude from all 3 members of staff on duty

👍 Food was tasty, full of flavour. Regarding the pub, the wife has issues with spiders (like most people) and from where we was sitting there is a massive web in one of the windows. I didn't tell this to the wife at the time but a thin legged spider did drop down behind her while we were eating. I l...
