We fancied a takeaway sweet treat, got a tiramasu, amaretto tart and a croissant for just €9.30. Great prices, quick service and most importantly tasted delicious.

We arrived at Caffè Casali Lucca just before closing time, but the staff still welcomed us warmly and served us without hesitation – their kindness really stood out! The coffee was delicious, and the hot chocolate was a real treat, both perfectly prepared. The pastries were decent and satisfying, complementing our drinks nicely. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy, making it a great spot to unwind with a good coffee while exploring Lucca. It’s a lovely place to take a break, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We only had take away ice cream, portions were a bit small and the cheapest option is 3 euros, but they were good ice cream . The pistachio flavour was delicious and you can tell it’s natural and not made with colorants and flavouring . Also the salted caramel flavour was very good.

The best Gelato in Lucca. Wait, the best Gelato in Tuscany! Overlooking the Piazza San Michelle, it's probably the most relaxed time I had while trying 9 different flavors of gelato, unlike any other! Because it s not a chain gelateria, the flavors are original, distinct, rich and extra fine, luxurious to the tongue! They served us courteously although it was already late, and what started as pasta & panini ended up with 3 consecutive orders of 3 heavenly gelato!

Rude. No compassion. Purchased a gelato for my daughter. As we paid inside she slipped and it fell on the floor. Staff said "is it my fault it fell?" ..and wanted to charge us again rather than do the right / compassionate thing. Only 3 euros, but out of principle we walked away.

This place is in a great location for people watching and getting off your feet. The staff are friendly, the gelato very good (sit down or take away), and the drinks are well crafted. Bar Casali is decorated indoors with the absolute coolest set of vintage miniature vehicles I have ever seen !! Worth a visit for that alone. We were there several times during our stay in Lucca, customers were having fun and the scene was lively.

We had gelato late in the evening which was decent but prepare to pay 5.5€ for three small cups (granted there was no “coperto” charge). I would give 4 stars but at pay time the barman was on a brink of swearing when we asked to pay by card separately.

Mediocre cafe with very stupid sit down policy. We ordered a coffee, hot chocolate, tiramisu (which we did not get) and I wanted also an ice-cream, which the waiter told me "minimum is 3 scoops". I asked, if I can order 1 scoop in a cone in THEIR gelateria and bring it to the table and was told no, if you want to sit here, minimum is 3 scoops (of course for double the prize than when you buy 3 scoops as a take-away). Their hot chocolate was not really hot, just luke-warm and was prepared probably using some instant powder. Coffee was fine, which is the only positive thing I can say about this place.

It’s a bar. It’s beautiful. All these negative reviewers need to calm down and behave themselves. I am really amazed by all the negativity in these reviews. My wife and I had a perfectly pleasant experience here twice while staying in Lucca for a month. Again: it’s a beautiful bar with snacks. It’s one of the few places you can stop and get a drink without having to order a full meal. If you want a full 3-course meal there are a lot of great restaurants in town to choose from. The table service might be a bit slow but you can just go up to the bar and order a drink! Enjoy a nice drink and a pleasant atmosphere here! Or sit outside and enjoy a nice drink and some people watching! Chill out and slow down!

1 dirty toilet, not sympathetic, expensive Even if you order water, coffee and orange juice you have to pay one euro extra for our daughters ice cream to sit on the terrace. Around the corner 2 better options for ice cream and for coffee etc go to terraces next door.

We have just had the most wonderful week in Lucca under the hot Tuscan sun! One of the highlights of our week was enjoying on THREE occasions late afternoon cocktails! The Espresso Martini was the best ever and my partner loved her Aperol Spritz expertly crafted by an outstanding bar tender

Amazing food with good service. The staff were friendly and it had a positive atmosphere. The sandwiches, waffles and pizza were delicious. This is a great place to stop for lunch, would recommended.

Horrible! Husband ordered a chicken panini. Just a piece of precooked breaded chicken in crappy bread and toasted. It was served to us about 15 minutes in, I waited another 15 minutes for my pizza and it arrived uncooked (he was finished) bi asked them to please finish cookin it and it came back just as uncooked. The photo is what it looked like the second time they brought it back.

Not a good experience, the staff was quite rude and forced up to 6 people to sit on 2 person tables, making the situation uncomfortable. This placement was done in a mean manner and with no respect. The food didn't taste right, and seemed cheap, in great contrast to the prices you have to pay.
