Sat down for breakfast about 10am. Due to language barrier we had hard time explaining what we wanted. The server looked dazed from all people in the shop. Waited a long time for our tea and coffee which turned out borderline cold. They need to hire efficient servers have some clear menus to make it easier for ordering
Wonderful location, friendly staff After the 3rd time in 2 days we’ve came in for breakfast or coffee they already knew who we were. The price is great, the food is delicious and while I’m not much of a sweettooth, I loved their hot chocolate and chocolate crosaints. When I looked them up on Google I was rather shocked at the reviews as I thought they were quite lovely! The music playing is always fun relaxing and on the rock side. We had breakfast there one last time today (January 1st) and were a bit surprised that we suddenly could only pay with cash, but perhaps it has to do with it being a holiday? Or not our usually server being there to run the cash register? PS: they are quite loud when doing the dishes so that might be a sensory issue for some folk.
The food was good. Personal is not too welcoming;) but still is was not bad. Big plus is that this cafe is not having big brake between lunch and dinner like many Italians places. The atmosphere inside is pleasant
Personale cordiale e professionale, cornetti delizioso ed artigianali.
Buon locale , personale molto gentile e buoni prezzi
Wonderful person here, also the place is very clean. During my presence, the washroom was thoroughly cleaned. Good coffee, decent food.
Just the most dreadful experience. Don't waste your time. Terrible food horrendous service
ATTENTION: TOURIST TRAP, very expensive, and they don't show the prices till the end. very low quality panini, not fresh at all, we order an orange juice and we got a multivitamin juice from a bottle. The cups and the plates were very dirty and I got a hair in my cappuccino.
Should have read the reviews before heading to this convenient place next to our hotel for breakfast. Because that's all it is, convenient next to train station. Ordered 6 continental breakfasts and an extra fruit salad. We got orange juice from carton, low end plain yoghurt, airplane marmelade, bagged biscotte, filled croissant/brioche not up to standard, industrial bread for toast, only eggs and bacon were kinda fresh but then again it's the easiest thing you'd say but no, eggs we're overcooked and bacon was very very salty which means low end product in general... When trying to ask about croissant fillings, the guy (not Italian) could not be bothered as he had "other customers waiting" i.e. 2 people sitting on the terrasse... When serving, cappucino's were cold, we did not bother sending back. I was amazed that there were certificates hanging on the wall for following a cappuccino making and decorating class... Fruit salad had melon and mushy watermelon, miles from the picture on the menu. Near the end of breakfast (20min later), the same waiter would come and ask to pay (never had this before in my life!). So please do read the reviews beforehand, mine is for breakfast only but it surely does not want to make me come back and try the rest. Check my other reviews for finding a decent breakfast in La Spezia.
The taste of food was okay, nothing special, however the plating is terrible, the portions are small and the staff is very rude.
Pretty much the only bad food I've had in Italy. Sad toast ( not toasted, but had grill marks), burnt eggs, orange juice from a bottle... Honestly, you could grab a better breakfast anywhere else. Folks were nice though, so there's that.
Bar perfetto per la colazione, personale cordiale ed accogliente.
Please do not go there. Terrible food. Normal prices, but the food they serve is cheap and crappy. Portions are ridiculous.
I ordered avocado toast for breakfast, this is what I was served, avocado paste on soggy white bread, absolutely tasteless, I wasn't able to more than a bite. Terrible and cost 8 euros.
I read reviews before going anywhere but in this case, after waiting way too long to be waited in the brunch spot in front I switched to this place and instantly regretted it. It has a decen’t setting woth cute chairs and flowers outside that tricked me. The service (they don’t wait the tables rather you have to go inside and carry your own tray) and food is terrible. Industrial proceses juice, supermarket vase of yogurt, bad croissant and even worse coffe.
There was no menu except a board you could barely read. The bruschetta was some random bread they threw in a toaster then laid sliced tomatoes across it, not diced. It looked awful and tasted worse. The pizza was like something I’d get from Little Caesar’s in the states. Nothing like I’ve eaten across Italy in the past few weeks. Definitely do not recommend it.
The food was awful, we took avocado toast paid 6€ per person and got a bread with not sure what. Highly pass, unless You are going just gor coffee, it was great.
Authentic, friendly and good for kids. Had a lovely breakfast with a delicious croissant and the BEST hot chocolate. I really recommend the hot chocolate, I have been travelling all through Europe and this is the best one I’ve had so far. Very nice to me and my little sister, there was a woman behind the counter that was lovely even though we don’t speak a lick of Italian. Sat outside inside the tent thing and it wasn’t cold at all as there was a nice heater. Will be back when I come back to La Spezia.
Very caring persons, thank you!
No menu besides the faded board that is hidden behind tables and when you ask for a menu, the rude waitress will slam the giant board in front of you and gesture towards you as we watched her do to not only us but two other groups of people the come in after us. the bruschetta was low-end grocery store toast with sliced tomatoes thrown on top. tasted like a meal i would’ve have had to eat as a kid when there was little money to be spent. awful and nothing like bruschetta. we tried to pay and leave before our pizza that we ordered came out but the man at the counter yelled at me and told me that the pizza was already cooked and sliced and we need to sit back down. i told him i would pay for it all but would like to leave and he gave it to us in a to go box. when we got back to our apartment we opened the pizza and it was the worst pizza i could’ve ordered at a chain pizza restaurant in the US ran by teenagers. literally just some undercooked dough with sauce and random splotches of cheese. not good. aside from the awful service and even worse food, the atmosphere seems very inviting and cozy and that’s where the positives stop. worst food i’ve ever had in italy. everything is a 5-star restaurant in comparison. please for your own sake don’t waste your time.
AVOID Nice setting. But food was atrocious. They served me microwaved lasagna with the texture of soggy cardboard. - Tastes like frozen supermarket lasagna. Avoid at all costs
