Firstly apologies for giving one star less to the place of worship. Temple has mesmerizing views both day and night. It becomes more vibrant in night with changing colors. Unique architecture and artistic craftsmanship on all sculptures, pillars. Royal white marble floor everywhere with its own unique characteristics. The only reason I took away one star was due to behavior of priests towards devotees and visitors was little rude. There are people from all backgrounds and those who are visiting Hindu temple for first time. They need little patience and explanation in understanding the culture. So please be welcoming rather rude in my opinion. Everything else was fantabulous, wonderous, gorgeous experience for my family. Happy visiting and offering prayers.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Stafford, TX is the biggest temple of its own kind in Texas. It consists of a 11,500-square-foot, 73-foot tall open-air temple and a 25,620-square-foot surrounding deck. There is a huge decorated gateway in front of the mandir which is very picturesque. There is a reflection pond just in front of the temple which heightens your experience. The temple is made of Italian marble and Turkish limestones. The temple exterior and interior wall is carved with intricate artworks and sculptures. Their are different murtis inside the temple. During Diwali the whole temple is adorned with festive colorful lights. There is a Gujarati restaurant, Shayona Cafe, on the premises. The temple is open and free for everyone and every region. Our visit there was really peaceful and mind calming. Love to visit again. Highly recommend not only for a peaceful mind but also for experiencing the amazing architecture.

I want to start off by saying that the Madir is such a beautiful breathtaking Hindu Guru Temple. The structure itself was so impressive with so much detail and professionalism. Also, I was greeted with open arms which made my visit a very pleasant one. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely a gem in Sugarland. I found this place to be very peaceful despite being filled with lots of people. It was very different from what I am used to and I was thankful for the experience. The structures were all built in India and hand crafted and assembled in Houston (according to one of the guides.) It was amazing. It is open to the public to view. They also have a cafe and gift shop too. I would say visit if your in the area! Do be mindful that this is a place of prayer and worship and to be respectful to those who go here.

Impressive temple with intricate and unique architecture! The public can walk around the grounds and enter the temple during visitor hours. They just ask that to show respect everyone wear clothing that covers the knees and shoulders and you take off your shoes when entering the temple.

Not just a spiritual place of worship but a great example of Hindu Temple architecture using ancient techniques. Photography is not allowed inside the temple so one has to go and see the beauty of the architecture and experience some peace in mind.

If you really want to see how nice temples looks like back in india then this is one of the best place to visit. If you never visited the temple before and thinking to visit it once then I would strongly recommend to visit this place. Also if you are visiting Houston and planning to visit NASA then this can be your evening place to come although please check the temple opening hours to visit it from inside. Even if time doesn’t-allow to see it from inside campus is open for longer time and you can still see it from outside which is also worth to visit. We visited it on week before DIWALI which was also the first day of lighting, if you are planning on this day then don’t miss light show which was around at 7:45 pm along with lot of Indian food stall where you can buy and enjoy Indian food. 🛕🛕🛕

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a popular tourist attraction known for its amazing architecture, which was built with Italian marble and turkey limestone and carved by hand in India. The temple is so serene and beautiful. I had a wonderful time walking around the fountains outside and admiring the beauty of the inside. The temple also has a restaurant and a museum outside. The entrance and the parking is free.

What a peaceful place! The design, architecture is beautiful. We went just in time for pooja. Later, we visited the cafe on premises. Delicious vegetarian fare. We also bought some snacks from the adjoining store. Lot of parking available.

Beautiful place to visit in Houston. I can say must visit. I gone their during Diwali celebration and it was more than awesome. It’s architecture is almost similar to Akshardham temple in Delhi India. I recommend to go their in evening during sunset view is very good. You will get chance to click good pics. During diwali they had light show, firework and drone show. It was very good. BAPS also famous for their Indian sweets. Must visit

Beautiful and lovely place. People are so welcoming. We enjoyed our visit. Take in consideration the place is close from 12 to 4. You can go but there is nothing happening just the cafe and the souvenir store.

I was stunned by the vast number of intricacies inside and outside the temple and surrounding structures. Every inch of the temple is covered in marvelous detail! You cannot wear shoes in the temple; there are designated rooms below the temple for men and women to take off their shoes. If you visit while wearing shorts/short dresses you will be asked to cover up (this goes for men and women). At the entrance of the temple you will be provided with a plain elastic ‘skirt’. Members of the temple encouraged us to stay for the service at 11:35am. During this time, men and women are separated into different seating areas. It lasts until 12pm or so. If you visit don’t forget to hit up the gift shop across from the temple!

Having visited the Akshardhaam Temple in India, I am overwhelmed to see this beautiful work of art in Houston. The marble work is gorgeous, and the temple is impeccably clean and zen at the same time. We had the opportunity to do "abhishek" of the gold statue of the deity guided by the priest who kindly welcomed us. The gift store has an assortment of Indian snacks and memoirs. Parking is abundant on site. A must visit when in Houston.

This a beautiful place. Staff and people around is very friendly. Check the time for visitors before you go. We learned a lot about a religion that we are not familiar with.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Houston, Texas, is a traditional Hindu temple built with Italian marble and Turkish limestone. The beauty and architectural design of this temple nestled within the neighborhood of the Stafford area is surely a head turner. We came here around after lunchtime, only to find that the temple is closed. We did head in at the gate area and politely asked the guard if we could come and visit the grounds and take some photos Yes, we were allowed to come in. There's no entrance fee because it is a temple, but we make sure to be respectful and not loud. At the grounds, the landscape was beautiful in contrast with the white beautifully carved design of the temple and other building structures. It felt like we were from another county and not in Texas. It was a wonderful experience, and we're looking forward to visiting in the future.

A huge beautifully maintained Hindu temple. Very clean. The temple is very well maintained and the volunteers were very friendly. The carvings on the temple is one of its kind. After dark the temple is beautifully illuminated with LEDs. Love this place. They have a cafeteria that opens on Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday only

Pretty cool architecture! The guard at the security Shack was very nice and let us in 15min before they opened to take pics of the outside. They even allowed our dogs in but we had them in a stroller and we didn't go inside the building.

Like any other BAPS temple - it's beautiful. They took good care of many things inside temple. Work outside in progress - once done this place will be great.

This was soo beautiful and sacred! Please be expected to enter without shoes and women be covered, if not they will give you a scarf and detachable skirt to go around your waist. Respect the temple! And it’s no pictures allowed inside the temple.

Super impressive temple! The pillars, the ceilings, and the spires at the top are so intricately designed. When you walk up to the front, the temple windows and the repeating marble design makes the interior look like one of those double mirror infinite reflections. There is also a gift shop with lots of Indian sweets. The Kaju Katri I would recommend. One thing to keep in mind is you have to take off your shoes before you walk in - there's a male/female show storage room next to the stairs. You also cannot take photos while inside the temple. Overall quite a peaceful place!

A reverent place. Quiet. The architecture is unique. Watching the birds drink from the stone “waterfall” (Not sure what it is called) was a delight. Research before you go. Modest attire is a must. ✌️

Swaminarayana mandir in Houston Texas. The architecture and construction is awesome. It's full of white stone construction. They will open morning 9 am to 8pm. In between there will be a break. The temple is very clean and well maintained. They have enough parking lots also. All the Temple volunteers are very nice and very informative in terms of explaining the history of the temple and the temple guidance. You can see the temple outside pictures in the review. They are not allowed to take the pictures in side the temple.

This temple is magnificent! The architecture and intricacies of the carved marble is incredible! Honored to have experienced this visit. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking and admissions is free. I advise you to wear socks because all guests are required to take their shoes off and store it in the shoe rooms before entering the main room. We visited the giftshop and cafe, where I bought Mango and Rose Lassi ($2.50 each). There were many great trinkets, snacks, and spiritual books that are very budget friendly.
