High Plains Scuba has been an over all amazing company. I love the people who work there. The classes are taught professionally and are very enjoyable. All the staff has great experience, and can work well with anybody's comfort level. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone I know, and I've been getting my family certified too. High Plains Scuba's staff is ways willing to help, and very knowledgeable. Hands down my favorite place to be! :)

Their swim lessons are great. Instructors are great to work with, and the other employees are very helpful as well. Highly recommend their swim lessons for any age.

My son and I just finished our open water certification. We started at their pool for one weekend, then finished at Homestead Crater. During our experience we worked primarily with Karl, but did get to know Chuck, Gary and Chad. Everyone was outstanding! The skills we learned will serve us very well during our future adventures.

I did my classroom and pool work here for my cert, and had a good experience. Good gear selection. They’ve always been knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Extremely helpful and the prices were better than Amazon.

Went in to get a new wetsuit for myself and a first suit for my fiancé. The staff was amazing and the selection was great. My fiancé has a joint disease that can make trying on things difficult but our salesperson, Aysia, was amazing and made the experience a breeze. She cut through our anxiety with confidence and expertise that saw us leaving relaxed with all we needed. Hard recommend before you head into the ice fed rivers to escape the summer heat.

My boyfriend and I recently started our open water dive certification here. We worked with Greg and Jordan and had a great experience! They were both very knowledgeable and encouraging instructors. I would highly recommend them. In addition, whenever we come in the shop, whoever is working is always friendly, helpful and willing to explain things and answer all of our questions about equipment. High Plains is really helping us get off to a good start with our scuba diving experience!

I've only been going through this business since 2002 - so, clearly I am more than satisfied and it is high time I write a review! Quite simply, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The customer service is so good that though I've moved out of town, I still drive a considerable distance to chat and do business with HPS.

I was certified in my teens, and after decades without diving, I took my 11-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son to High Plains Scuba for certification for them and a skill update for me. I'm so pleased that I did. All the folks at the shop were delightful, without exception. According to my daughter, "They're just nice people." However, our instructor, Karl, has been exceptional. I like to think that my children are bright and coachable, but Karl is an outstanding coach and teacher. He deftly balanced seriousness with humor and translated complex concepts into language the kids could understand; he taught them more about physics and physiology in a few hours than they'll learn in months of school. At the same time, he was very sensitive to the children's needs, adapting and improvising along the way. Frankly, I think he's overqualified, and he'd have made a legendary science teacher. We completed our classroom and pool work at the shop a couple months ago and just arrived home from a High Plains Scuba trip to Homestead Crater to complete checkout dives. I wouldn't make the trip just to dive the crater, but it was the perfect place for checkout dives: comfortable water, adequate visibility, few distractions, and a trip focused just on diving skills. Our experience with the shop has been unequivocally, uniformly positive, and I will have no qualms with working with any of their instructors if I can convince the kids to advance their diving education; the other instructors on the trip to the Crater were wonderful. When the kids are ready to learn more, we'll ask for Karl, but if that doesn't work out, I'm still confident that we'll get a first-rate education from first-rate people. Also, FWIW, this is my first written online review of any kind. I've consumed a lot of products an services worthy of positive reviews, but this time, I'd have felt guilty for not encouraging others -- especially parents -- to use High Plains Scuba.
