Nice place we happened by while in Ft Lauderdale. First off, everyone who works there is super nice and helpful. The owner greeted us and gave some good recommendations. I had a hickory burger with their house made BBQ sauce. It was really good and the beef is high quality. They said it was cooked on a grill (and it sure looked like it was) but I thought it didn't have the flavor of being grilled like that. But the portion was huge and it was a good meal. I also recommend the cookies (we got a chocolate covered one but they all looked good).

You saw us walking by and came out to greet us and talk with us. You gave us a menu and invited us to stop back after our errands. You spoke with pride of the business you built and your staff. Your staff and food didn't disappoint! The food was excellent and the service top notch. The burgers were delicious and the Roasted Tomato was divine. Thank you so much. It’s like arriving for lunch at an old friend’s house. I can’t believe I’ve lived downtown for years and it’s the first time I go! We Googled “best burgers in Fort Lauderdale” and this place continuously came up and now we now why they earned the rep! Gilbert was really friendly as soon as we arrived and made our time there feel like we were visiting family. Food: The wings were out of this world! I heard they boil them beforehand and finish cooking them upon ordering which makes them super juicy!! The cheeseburger lives up to expectations and more! But wait… there’s more! They serve wine!! Lastly… their chocolate chip cookie… oh my goodness!!!! They warm it up and it’s a melts in your mouth type of experience! If you haven’t been… better put it on that list!

We had to go back to Gilbert’s again because the first time was so good! This time did not disappoint either. I ordered a well done hamburger with fries. We also ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese, also had a side order of onion rings. What can we say, it was cooked to order, the flavor was excellent and we left with very full stomachs. If you are in the area, you must stop in. Nothing we’ve ordered yet has been disappointing. The owner and staff are excellent!! The only thing I could possibly suggest is to add a line on the receipt to leave a tip because they deserve it. (We always just leave it on the table or hand it to them)

Fantastic! Read the reviews and had to visit. Wow! The burgers were fresh and out of this world good. Fires were fresh and yummy. Great food. The owner and her son were so nice. We got a history lesson on the restaurant, which we were very interested. So blessed to have gone to this place as the first restaurant us foodies went to. The only thing bad we went there first. Hard to beat greatness. Thank you, Ms Gilbert, Rich, and Wells. We thoroughly enjoyed everything!

Didn't expect the taste and quality of burgers will exceed our expectations, but they did! Indeed their burgers not just best in South Florida, but in the entire East coast!! Will definitely coming back to try other burger options and desserts on their menu! You should definitely taste this amazingly juicy and delicious burgers!!

So this is a family run business - how do I know this? Cause when we walked through the door and it was established that we had never been there before we were told "head over there and my mom will give you the menu"... So we went to where we were told and we were greeted by mom, (her last name IS Gilbert by the way) and then she started telling us about the menu - all Angus in the hamburgers (no fillers), the fin fish has never been frozen and the salad dressings were all made in house. She is PROUD of her restaurant and rightfully so. We had a great meal (two different burgers because we had to try them) and some great waitstaff that kept checking in on us. We will happily come back next time we are in town. Give Gilbert's a try!

We had grilled chicken and potatoes it was amazing! They also have unique burgers and sweet potato fries! Bring a friend to share with causd these are huge portions! There are some amazing one of a kind desserts in the displays also take a look, surprise your kids with one or just treat yourself! This is a sports bar with great tvs and super attentive staff. Its also in a great location!

Great food and great service. We had the Hvarti Burger and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich both with Sweet Potato Fries. The fries were nice and crispy unlike many other renditions. They have classic “pub-style” service where you order at the counter and the waitstaff delivers your food to your table.

Burgers were good. The one I ordered, Italian style, came at the right temperature I ordered. My husband’s was well done (we both ordered medium). Flavors were good. Environmental is very nice and staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Even though I have lived in South Florida forever, I somehow have never been to Gilbert's in the 16 plus years that they have been opened. I am stoked I decided to go there last week. We googled best burgers in Fort Lauderdale and we were guided to this gem. The owner husband and wife duo were working the register and cooking and were beyond hospitable! We started off with some grilled lemon pepper wings as an appetizer and a bowl of Split Pea soup. The grilled wings were super tasty and cooked just right and the soup made a solid showing as well. Then the burgers came. We each got a different set of toppings but ALL of us got the same amazingly flavorful burger cooked to our individual liking. Truly was one of the best burgers I have had in a long long long time. The service was incredible and the vibe of college sports on the multiple TVs was a nice addition to the food experience. I couldn't leave without getting a few cookies - which ranked up there with the rest of the experience. This definitely will be a regular stop for me in the future.

Best burger in town I'd say. Cool staff too. I have gone here a lot and they never disappoint. I always forget to take pics cuz im too eager to get into the food. The wings are great here too, and I get them grilled every time! You can combine the lemon pepper wet sauce with the teriyaki. My recommendation. My favorites so far have been the Hottest Burger and the Bleu Cheese Burger. For the Bleu Cheese Burger, they actually inject the cheese into the patty. The burger below was the Havarti burger, with the English muffin. A delightful burger joint.

The food here is absolutely delicious. My brother and I made a stop on our way to Miami, and we are glad that we did. The service was amazing. The staff is very friendly. Most importantly, our food came out perfect and was delicious. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who stays or frequent Fort Lauderdale.

Read the reviews for the best burgers, and they did not disappoint!! Had the Godfather, Brie, and Hickory burger between us and all were great. Great fries, sweet potato fries, and mac and cheese too. Of course we had to get some sweets too, which we got to go but man, they look amazing.

After Leaving the Airport my husband and we’re very hungry, so we took to google to see what we’re done great restaurants for eating, and low and behold Gilbert’s popped up as having the best cheeseburger so we decided to go since we didn’t want anything too heavy, but just something to hold us over, and what do you know our meal from here did just that 🙂. Serve was fast the staff was super friendly truly a great spot .

The place is famous for there hamburgers. I think everyone from around knows that. Today I got a fish but only because I had ordered a hamburger the day before and it was good. The ordering was different. As you walk in you look at the menu that is at the desk or board. You are greeted by someone and he helps you and answers questions. You move to the end of the desk and pay. They then give you a number to place on your table. The food comes out fast. They have people walking around and assisting. My sandwich was very good. The guy working made some suggestions that sounded great and I liked them. It came with fries. I got to choose from sweet potato or regular. I got a mixture of both. Those potatoes tasted amazing. I loved them. I was happy. The atmosphere was relaxed. The service was professional and friendly. The staff is great. I sat inside, but they also have an outdoor sitting area. The restaurant has plenty of parking spots around and it is easy to find.

Awesome spot for burgers! Super satisfying, great sized portions and reasonably priced. They have a nice little seating area outside, and the service is fantastic. Would definitely recommend :)

The food and service was fantastic. It was the best burger and fries I have had in a long time. The salmon was moist and flavorful. The only thing not top notch was the red velvet cookie. It was cold and hard. Definitely will come here again.

I had the Louisiana Cajun Burger and I can see why they were ranked #1 best burgers in South Florida. The customer service was very good as well. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman behind the counter and the employees cleaning the dinning area and patio were pleasant and friendly. I also noticed how clean everything was. I would definitely recommend Gilbert's. I found great value in this establishment and will positively return here to try more items.

I came there one time and now I’m a regular every Friday! Best burgers in all of Florida! The burgers are juicy and the taste is amazing! Family run, and everyone is so nice. The key lime pie is also very good! One of my favorite restaurants in all of south Florida! Highly recommend! Blows any burger joint out of the water!

Service is great. The owner is so professional and the food is so delicious. We got the ribs and sweet potato fries. Will definitely come back when we visit Florida again.

My husband and I happen to come in right as they were closing, the owner was very nice and pleasant and advised that she would allow us to stay and eat. We ordered salmon and chicken wings... wings are pictured below. According to the owner they boil their wings in the morning then cook then recook the chicken wings. Salmon was ok. Chicken wings were terrible. When we said something to the owner she said they don’t make anything bad and went on to explain the process of how they cook their wings... which to me explained the old tasting flavor, as if it had been reheated or sitting for a long time. She basically hinted at something being wrong with me and my tastebuds which is crazy!!!!! Needless to say she didn’t provide a refund- she went over to a group of people and they all looked over at our table and began to laugh. We left and will highly suggest no one visit

Extremely dry asked for extra sauce and mayonnaise didn't give it to me even though I asked several times, ordered for a group of five. Mac and cheese would give it a one out of five extremely dry no flavor and not enough cheese. Sweet potato fries were soggy.

Highly recommended! Family-owned restaurant with hearty burgers and daily specials that will not disappoint. The sweet potatoes were amazing and the service was top notch! You could definitely tell that the owner wanted you to enjoy your meal.

Hands down the best grass fed beef burger I’ve ever eaten. I order mine medium and was super juicy and perfect!!!! Chicken tenders plate for kids was enormous and the beef hotdog also hugeee!! Key lime pie is a must. The owner Ms Lenore was so kind explaining us everything on the menu. We can’t wait to come back!!!!
