If I could give it less I would. Not good. I went there cause it was cheap enough.... As I was going to sign in people were waiting to sign out and they said "not good" and I was like ah it can't be that bad. All I need is a bed... And ya it's bad. Knocked to get in, answered by someone who must have been living there, 2 mattresses in on the kitchen living area, with clothes lying around, smelled of smoke even though there was a no smoking rule, blinds were all closed, went to the room. 2 bunk beds. Only 2 had mattresses an one was occupied by someone who seemed to live there, a broken bike in the closet and I instantly took my stuff and left for the day, someone else offered me a place to stay and I signed out asap. Not good, homely place.

This place is beyond discusting. I was mortified by the room and bathroom. If I could give it a 0 stars I would. I am a female that stayed in a shared dorm room. There was a "woman" which I mean possibly transgender.. staying in a private room attached to my room brought someone home w her/him after hours. I did not feel safe what so ever. I wasn't even provided a pillow. I demanded a refund but have to wait because of the holiday weekend. Do not stay here whatever you do. Better off sleeping in your car or on the beach.

Worst 'hostel' I've stayed in, in 50+ countries. I stayed here 15 years ago under a different name, really enjoyed myself, cool, interesting yachting crowd, and close to everything. Since then, everything's changed. It's 15 years more dilapidated, and the boating crowd has left - replaced by the homeless and drug addicts. In the day (booked for 3 but left ) I was there two ppl had things stolen, staff were non existent - even to their own lax standards of 'being there a couple hours to open and a couple hours to close'. Weird to see how a place can go so drastically down hill in a bit over a decade.

Ha ha this place still exist? I stayed there for a month 20 years ago while backpacking. Used to be a safe place in a rough neighborhood. Seems like it's the same stove, refrigerator and kitchen after all these years.

Stayed for a week. Had two of my tires slashed by a homeless man that wandered in to the complex. I was one out of 4 people to whom this this happened. Was never contacted or received any type of apology for the inconvenience. My initial roommates were loud until early hours of the morning. Once they left there was an overnight roommate that decided to urinate on the floor in the middle of the night. This place is a little shady, great if you don't have any type of transportation that can be vandalized. However, it was cheap. So...there's that.

This place has BED BUGS EVERYWHERE!!!! Please whatever you do, please do not stay here! Yes it’s cheap and the location is great but it truly is a dump! When I first got there I had NO SHEETS, NO PILLOW CASES NOTHING! I called they put some on the bed for me I appreciate that. I didn’t make not one complaint until my last night when I woke up to bites all over my body! I went to the office and asked them where they aware of the bed bugs they said no. But I told her u have tons of review (which I didn’t read until after the fact) say you have bed bugs! Then some lady came busting out the back looking like she just rolled out of bed wiping her eyes telling me we won’t tollerate any verble customer complaints today. I was nice and pleasant when I approached them about the problem, let’s just say she realized she was about to get her ass beat. All in all this place is a dump and I already contacted the health department!

Are you a yachtie? Do you want to meet and mingle with other yachties? Do you like to make friends and enjoy yourself? Well then this is NOT the place for you! Just move on and find a proper crew house.

I made a reservation and clearly noted my arrival time to be between 11pm and 12am. I merely did this to assure that they wouldn't give my room away... little did I know their "office" closes at 9pm, which means there is nobody there to check you in after this time. So, I'm there... it's close to midnight, I'm exhausted from a 10hr flight, and have no way to access my room. There was a handwritten sign on the office door stating a number to call for "24hr check in", which was just an answering machine saying that "they will call you as soon as possible". After a few minutes I left and called an Uber. I eventually found a hotel with rooms available, which was precisely what I did not want to he doing after midnight after a long flight... hunt down a hotel room... Still waiting on a call from them by the way, thank God I did not stick around to wait. But hey, that's what I get for trying to save a buck! Never again.

My experience was horrid. I'd rather Baker act myself then sleep there again. Beware of the devils rejects that live there! If your looking to save money but stay in the city, sleep under a bench in ft Lauderdale. You'll experience the same class of people on the streets as you'll meet here.

Is this place a joke? My girlfriend and I purchased a "private" room, only to be met with the most disgusting little room I have ever seen. I was absolutely insulted that I was being charged 60$ to stay the night in these conditions. The other roommates were disgusting and the entire place looked like squatters were living there and had been for some time. We spent 15 mins in the room before walking to the office and demanding a refund. Want a good hostel, I'd recommend "hotel deauville" in ft. Lauderdale. 60$ rooms and the place is damn near immaculate.

This place is a total disaster. Like crackhead or parolee hangout. The staff smile because they have your money and now there’s nothing you can do about it. They threw me in a room with some real degenerates. One guy’s body odor completely permeated the entire apartment. Bugs everywhere... crackheads hounding you for money too. Extremely nosey roommates. Privacy is something you forego upon staying here. I honestly believe county jail would be a nicer and safer place to stay. Just saying.

This is the worst establishment I have ever come across in my 37 years. The “hag” that supposedly owns the place was belligerently drunk and called the police on me for absolutely no reason. She is the worst person I have ever met in my entire life. What a putrid human being.

This place is effectively closed. Most of the rooms are empty, with a handful being rented out to long term renters. The grounds and pool are not maintained.

Awful. One star is far too many. Basically a pay-as-you-go homeless shelter. After reserving a room to share with colleagues I was traveling with, we were all split up in separate dorm rooms with no lockers and ‘residents’ who talked all night about ripping people off. Left ASAP.

I’m giving this place three stars because I just here. So far so good. Management in particular Renatta was very genuine transparent and professional. Answered all my questions. I elected to stay in a dorm style experience to see what that is like. Surprisingly very nice. My room sleeps 5 guys and so far I’ve met one guy who is very respectful nice and clean. The property is in a nice area close to US 1 and houses a very diverse group of people. Overalll my experience is positive and more than likely will add the other two stars in the morning pending that experience lol. But I would recommend this to anyone on a budget or would like a humbling experience. So the other two stars was a dependent upon a good nights rest which I can wholeheartedly say I slept very very well so the chocolate hostle gets five stars across-the-board for me and I will be returning as well

Kindness, compassion affordability. Managers Carlito and Mercedes and her mom maintain the integrity, cleanliness, happy vibes and opportunities for travelers and locals alike a fun and safe place to reside or travel. This is one of my all time favorite hostels because they respect the privacy of their travelers and tenants. The local long term tenants work together to move furniture to accommodate the local long termers a place to feel at home and allow creativity and opportunity to the locals to find work and upgrade to an apartment once their finances are better. I personally like the bed bunk camp feeling. Easy to make friends. Directly out front is a sign stating the price for apartments which is on par with the area. But affordable for a few nights or a few weeks as well. Everyone who lives here looks out for other tenants and travelers. Beautiful front garden and the pool is a great way to cool off. I truly love this place for their compassion and commitment to make everyone's stay long or short term fun memorable and awesome. First last and Security isn't easy for anyone. This place offers an option where your money us good as long as your paid. It's fun being part if the upgrade and move furniture and pictures. Creativity is not discouraged but encouraged. Locals and people new to Florida can stay here to get a leg up and upgrade from the dorm to an apartment. People who move outcome back to visit their friends The cutest Siamese cat hangs around and is loved by all. Artists, students, black white yellow and green ... Paintings of Jimmy Hendricks and Lifesavers from the SS Minnow gives that homey feel of the sixties and what we all envision a hostel to be. Good bless this place and what they do for locals and travelers.

It's a half way house. Dirty, old and feels unsafe. I didn't want to be here from the second I arrived. The woman who worked there very kindly refunded me fully as I was upset and for this I am very very grateful! Thank You for showing kindness but I would never stay here.

Was passing through, before leaving the country. Had a great room for a great price last minute. Nice community and friendly people. Friendly staff as well that helped answer all my questions. Also stopped by on my way back into the country during another layover and despite being late and last minute, they were able to satisfy my needs.

There's so many things wrong. It was in a sketchy neighborhood. I booked for a private room, but the lady at the front desk in what they called "Front Office " said there was already 3 other women in the room. On top of that I did not get refunded the amount I paid. I left utterly disappointed and extremely upset.

Garbage. Avoid at all costs. Beware creepy old men and sleazy hookers. Rooms are roach infested....once paid for a week stay and asked to leave an hour later and refused to refund my money back.

This place is filthy, the staff member I had to deal with was so aggressive, promised to give me a refund and when I asked for it, threatened to call the police. It was insane. I nearly fell into the middle of the bed and in order to get any sleep whatsoever I had to physically move a queen size bed without assistance on the floor. Unfortunately, with international travelling and unforeseen delays, I arrived just 5 mins prior to closing to a very unwelcome reception. No one even bothered to check that I was happy with my room, which I was not. Don't waste your money or your time.

Other than the staff who do the best they can, and are pretty awesome, this place is for a select few. Lived here off and on for months at a time during last 2 years. Looks fun, but transients and addicts and homeless surround the area. The entire rest of the street is a state owned sober living facility. Room rates are raised without notice. Owners just want money, rooms are not up to date for the ridiculous rates. My stove only half worked, they can randomly just move you rooms with different people without reason or warning. Pool is full of algae and green and closed by the county. The shared BBQ is rusted out with holes. Avoid this place unless you want a never-ending party... Or your from a second world country...

I stayed there for just one night in 2016. I thought I was going to die! I had to share an apartment with a very rude woman and her husband. They smoked inside the living room all the time and their clothes where everywhere. It looked like some people actually lived there. People got really high and drunk during the night and one of them was stabbed in the back by another guy. Thankfully I found a nice man who gave me a ride to the airport.

I think the girl's room is so special. The bathroom is up dated with lovely sink and black and white details including a huge framed mirror. And it is very clean. The living and dining, kitchen are up dated and modern in a slate gray, and red and beautiful dark wood cabinets, shelving, Pop Art and new dining area with new bar stools. The dorm room is also newly painted and up beat in decor and colors. I have always loved this apt but now it truly feels like your own space. Thanks Chocolate for the fresh new look in room 12 :)

I liked staying in a recent long overdue vacation. The staff is helpful. My private room was well cool with ac. You’re close to everything. Others mentioned cleanliness. My room was very clean. I don’t know about others experience but mine was good. It definitely feel like a hostel which I think is a great part of the packaging.
