If you are able to stay clear of this hospital, please do so. A loved one was recently admitted & we did not have a good experience. Although some of the staff was good (hence the second star), most of the medical professionals seemed to not care (doctors, nurses)…terrible bedside manner & lack of effort to help. Having the patient feel like a “burden” is not the way to go. Broward Health needs to do a better job with training and staffing.

I just got home from a 2 night stay at this pathetic and abusive hospital! I would give it zero stars if I could. I was transported by ambulance from a cruise. The ER nurse was kind and helpful. But the hell started once I was admitted. First of all, the Drs did not LISTEN to me or read the packet of info provided which was an incident report of what had happened. The ER visit would have been sufficient as they ran tests and scans and all was good to go. However, once admitted I only saw one Dr. in the 48 hours I was admitted. Who lied and told me I had in fact been seen by another Dr. Then every nurse ( except for the one that I had the last night, who discharged me) was rude, talked over me, did not take precautions when it came to my medicinal allergies, and in general were just horrible examples of medical professionals. The room and bathroom were NEVER cleaned while I was there! Not once! There was a slime of grease and hair caught in the hinges of the bed I laid upon. The sheets and blankets felt like they were one step down from paper towel. I don’t know if the nurses ever washes their hands! It was filthy! It was worse than what I would expect a prison infirmary to be! Run! Run! Run far far away from Broward Health Medical Center! Run!

I found the treatment and service in the emergency room was great. Unfortunately I was moved to 3 north tower. Here things fell apart. The place is dirty, they forgot to give me a pillow or tell me how to call the nurse if I needed her. There is probably good reason for this as they do not want to give you the time of day. I have been here two days now and still have no idea about any of the tests I have don l do not know if the results are good or bad, or any idea how long I might be here. They keep telling me I will be gone i soon. It would be fine If I wasn't a single dad who has two children at home who are very worried as their mother passed away here 1 year ago.

I go in for chest pain. The ER staff was pleasant and the nursing staff was also pleasant. However, I never saw a cardiologist and the attending doctor was kicking me out, he got upset with me in regards to me experiencing chest pain. Meanwhile I'm still experiencing chest pain and he didn't put any orders in. It was like I was bothering him I will never come back here again.

Vomited blood. Waiting a quick 3 hours on the floor from the pain. Vomited again in front of registration staff, they called EVS. EVS don’t work here apparently. 3 hours later, still vomit on the floor. Included a nice pic of me on the floor waiting to be called. … p.s. they play loud African beat music in the ER.

I don’t recommend coming here. I’m in disbelief at how they treated my sister. She got into a car accident and had a broken nose. Facial surgeon didn’t wipe her face. He gave water and gauze to my mom so she could do it. Not to mention prior to him getting to the room she was sitting there with the blood all over her face for a long time with little to no information. She tried getting her belongings (purse and phone) multiple times and before they finally gave it to her they said “we’re not sure where it is”. Awful staff. The nurses were great, though. 0/0. Completely disgusted with them.

My wife is pregnant and we're expecting in the next few months. Because our OBGYN's practice is based in this hospital's offices, this is where we're expected to come for delivery. As our pregnancy is technically high-risk, we've had 2 incidents where we've been asked to come in as a proactive "better safe than sorry" measure and in both cases, we've spent probably close to 2hrs waiting to be brought into a room, and another 4hrs waiting for an ultrasound to be conducted. By the time we've had the ultrasound, the doctor is "gone for the day" and if we've got any more questions, we're kinda stuck waiting for the next day. When we ask for an estimate of how long things might take, they always tell us they're very busy and ask for our patience but, if we're asked to come in for a possible issue with our baby as a high risk pregnancy, 6hrs feels like a very long time to wait so while we're willing to give the benefit of doubt, I am starting to worry that come delivery day, we might not get the attention we need.

I went to the ER at 4:30 PM. The waiting room, patient rooms and hallways were very dirty & the bathroom was disgusting. I was not called for vitals until 7:45 PM. I was given a cup to pee in and told to keep it with me until I was called back. I was not put into an exam room until 10:30 PM. Once I was in the room the physician did not see me until 11:40 PM. He then ordered some tests that took another two hours. I was discharged at 3:00 AM and told to follow up with my primary doctor. I felt even worse that when I came in. This hospital has gone down hill. The staff are very unprofessional and rude. The wait time is extremely ridiculous. Due to the fact I was still not feeling well I went to to Holy Cross hospital later that day. I was admitted and spent a week in the hospital. I could not believe Broward Health sent me home in the first place. I will never return to any Broward Health hospital or recommend it to anyone!!!!

What a horrible experience it was. Everybody at the ER is extremely rude and careless. Hospital is SUPER understaffed right now (Must be for a reason). 5 hrs just WAITING to get in after originally coming in for a SPLIT OPENED chin with foot and knee bruises. The guy at the front desk used his commonly used line “if someone has chest pains I have to prioritize them first” which is fine, but then you have an older gentleman WITH CHEST PAINS come in and you tell him that there is a 2hr 18min wait? Ridiculous. Place is dirty, smelly, people with LEGIT emergencies waiting whil they’re just letting the easy one’s in to get it out of the way. This was Discriminatory and Disrespectful that kind of poor customer service this hospital has. Close it now!!!! IT IS NOT SAFE!!!

Once you enter this hospital expect to leave in a body bag. My mother was admitted for a fall. Since I live out of town I called every day to make sure she was getting her 5 heart medications. I was repeatedly told she would get them but 9 days later she still did not have her medications despite the fact that they were faxed twice. The social workers lie or hang up on you, wont spend a minute to discuss your family member. The doctor that was assigned to her wasn't told she was his patient until 9 days later and only then did she receive her medications. By then it was too late and she passed away from cardiac arrest. I was told my mother was in stage 4 renal failure then why did the death certificate say she died from hypertension and heart disease?? And I almost forgot to mention the hospital claimed my mother had Covid with no symptoms when she arrived and kept her in total isolation. They continued to say she had Covid for 12 days. Hospitals are hoping that the patients will die from Covid as they are paid big money by the government if that occurs. Do not send your loved ones to this hell on earth.

My sister who is over 70 years of age was admitted Friday evening (12/24) with severe stomach pain. A doctor on staff looked at her and had a CT scan done but admitted he had no idea what was wrong with her. All day Saturday she was in severe pain and no gastroenterologist was called in to see her. They claimed they were too busy to do an ultrasound. Multiple times she asked the nurses to call the hospitalist doctor and they refused to call him . They kept telling her its Christmas while the pain medicine was doing nothing. Here it is Sunday morning and still waiting for an ultrasound while she is in severe pain. She can barely talk on the phone because of the pain she is in and says the attitude of the nurses is horrible. There is no excuse for not having a specialist see her because of a holiday and it should not take more than 24 hours to do an ultrasound. A follow up to this review. They released her Sunday evening and was in the emergency room at Holy Cross Monday morning . Turns outBroward Health misdiagnosed her as her intestines and appendix were twisted and had to have surgery .Doctors didn't understand why Broward did not give her morphine for her pain. She is still in the hospital trying to recover. Also when admitted to Holy Cross she found out she had Covid form being at Broward. Thank goodness she has had the 3 shots.

The worst hospital I have ever been to. I had food lodged in my throat and could hardly breathe and they made me sit in the waiting room in a full panic. The lady at the front desk was rude. The nurses were rude. They brought me back to do blood work for what??? Then sent me back to the waiting room. I asked if I could have water and they refused me water. I left to go elsewhere.

It’s a okay hospital, dislocated my shoulder and walked in at 5am with a homeless man laying in the entrance doors while the nurses tried to get him to move. They fixed me up quickly and took good care of me and that’s what is important. Great service and I loved my doctor, didn’t love having to creep by a incoherent homeless man while in extreme pain.

I just deliver my baby girl April 1st. My delivery nurse Monique was an absolute DREAM! Complete godsend from the moment I got there! I cannot say enough about what an AMAZING experience I had with her. She was literally by my side from the moment she started her shift with me until I delivered. It was very obvious that she knew exactly what she was doing in labor and delivery. To say she kept me comfortable and walked me through everything is an understatement. She was an absolute blessing and the BEST LABOR AND DELIVERY NURSE!

As I sit in the hallway with no room these people are asking me personal questions in front of everyone then ask to take my blood. I’ve been sitting here for hours meanwhile people are in here just to get sleep or come down off a high. 1 start shouldn’t be the lowest rating google should have I’ll never come back here.

Absolutely disgusted. I recently went there because I felt I would safer there than home, alone. I have mental health issues and was having a hard time. The treatment I received was horrendous. When I entered the psyche er, there were 3 security guards standing together. I was immediately barked at by the guard in the center. At which i responded that I was not to be spoken to by a guard. That must have triggered the guards because an argument ensued. My argument is simple. Guards are only to interact with patients when there is an apparent threat of violence. Then a Nurse came out and interjected herself. I turned my attention to her and plead my case. I even asked her to tell the guards to leave me be. She was not sympathetic to my pleas. Shortly after I was disrobing and the nurse called me a racist. When I asked the guards, who were standing around me in a menacing fashion, if they heard what she said, their response was, "let it go'. There is a lot more to my experience but I must say, the treatment I received was absolutely disgusting. My appearance, however unkempt, does not give anyone the right to denigrate me. The Hospital staff are in need of training. For the record, I'm an older Caucasian American and I may look as if I am homeless. I suffer from MDD but I won't be spoken down to. Imagine a grown man that asks for help and ends up defending his self from nasty hospital staff and guards. To end on a happy note, the Guard Williamson and the Tech Wilson were impressive simply because I didn't feel condescended.

Visited the outpatient facility recently and Nikki your receptionist was kind, compassionate and very professional! We and others waited a very long time to see the Dr. (Appt was at 9:30 Dr didn’t show up until 11:30!!) Nikki, in the meantime did everything she could to assist with her calm and confident demeanor. Please recognize her invaluable contribution to the clinic.

We went to ED for a jaw/chin split, with the possibility of stitches. We waited for more than 3 hours and gave up in order not to wait any longer. I don't understand what kind of emergency service is. It was an open wound. It wasn't headache or an upset stomach. A wound that might become infected. We were there at 11.30pm.And it was around 2.30am and we were still waiting. Most of those came after us are gone . Staff and service is extremely poor quality and uninterested. I do not recommend at all. Only a waste of time

By far this is the worst experience I’ve ever had at the hospital. Brought my mother in law in because she was feeling ill, We were 2 hours in waiting when this young pregnant lady came in with her husband and two kids obviously looking like she was ready to have her baby, long story short seems like they did not offer a wheel chair because her husband had to carry her to the bathroom and he seemed like he didn’t really speak english so my question is how do you not have any bilingual staff???… anyways so no staff or even security cared about her screaming in pain in the bathroom and she literally gave birth in the bathroom of the EMERGENCY ROOM,, Really really sad if you ask me. And On top of this We waited a total for 4 hours in the ER and she was never called. I can’t believe this happened. Really crazy and unacceptable.

WHERE DO I BEGIN. I never write reviews... but this hospital is legitimately a circle of hell. Came in around 9pm screaming with extreme abdominal pain and thought I had appendicitis. Was rudely told to wait my turn and wait. I literally thought I was going to die and was losing consciousness from the pain. Waiting room was disgusting, and dirty. When I was finally admitted, I met the nurses. The most nasty group of people I have ever met. Gossiping and talking trash on all the patients right outside their rooms while people are begging for someone to help them. They wouldnt believe me that I was truly in so much pain. One of the curly brown-haired nurses was sadistic and I swear enjoyed watching me in pain. They restrict everything - information, food and water. Finally saw the Doctor after two hours of waiting. He gave me morphine and told me I would be getting some random tests but didnt explain anything and left. Waited another 4 hours and no one communicated with me or my boyfriend what was going on. My boyfriend got so frustrated he was crying and he never cries. We were packing up to get ready to leave but the doctor told me he already ordered an ultra sound test and for me to stay and wait. No pricing transparency even though I was begging them for any financial insight. I do not have insurance at the moment as I lost my job recently and they made me pay a $539 copay on the spot. After 9 HOURS and 3 mystery tests later, they discharged me with no clue as to what was causing my pain. I left in more pain than when I got there. No antibiotics or answers. I tried calling to find out about my bills and someone keeps picking up and then hanging up on me...I have called over a dozen times. I am preparing to take legal action for the sheer negligence and danger of this hospital. All of the nurses need to be terminated immediately. The only great person I met was the Ultrasound nurse Diane who was literally an angel. If anyone has gone through a similar experience, please reach out to me on linked in.

Reading the negative reviews I'm so shock that we received the complete opposite experience. We a unfortunate event that my hubby that to be rushed to the ER in an ambulance. Did we stay in ER for HOURS? Yes, but we received excellent care. From the Dr (Craig) to all the nurses, X-ray tech and (specially) the orthopedic team. Everyone was great. After being admitted same thing everyone from Pre-op and post Op was fantastic. Hopefully we don't have to ever be back lol but I have absolutely no complaints .

This hospital is a complete joke. I came in at 12 with serve neck and back pain after sitting in an empty waiting room for a hour I got called into the back to talk to a nurse for 2 minutes. Then to be left alone sorting in a room for 2 hours to get a cat scan. A bunch of girls sitting behind their desk gossiping and playing on their phones. I FINALLY got my cat scan and now I’m left to wait another 45 min to a hour. I WILL never come back to this place. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I recommend driving the extra 15 min and go to Memorial in Hollywood

First off all, I hardly ever run to the doctors or hospitals when feeling bad, but im glad i did. Long story short I was admitted and experienced 3 great doctors, a pain doctor, infection doctor, ear nose and throat doctor. All 3 were great. But 1 nurse in particular stood out and Mrs. Yenifer on the 6th floor (surgery) made sure I was comfortable my entire stay. Weather it was pain management, beverages, food when it ordered from the doctor again. I mean the best. Thank you again Mrs. Yenifer. Your true passion for what you do truly shows. Keep up the good work. It's truly shows and your a great person as well. God bless Bonita.... I would definitely recommend this place..

If 0 star was an option, it wouldn’t be enough!!! Broward Health is the worst… from customer service to additional charges billed to you even after paying a flat fee for services. I thought it would be convenient to go to outpatient labs for quicker results to my PCP. My INS was not affiliated with them so they calculated a flat fee for labs, I insisted “will there be any more charges,” they said no you should not receive anything else. I even asked for a print out of my signed documents, the registration person said it’s not needed, ur account number is on the receipt, should you have any issue call. Now I’m slapped with another bill relatively the same amount as I what I initially paid as flat rate and when I called billing they said “oh you signed there would be xtra charges, I recommend reading the documents.”!! Well the 4 font documents were flashed in secs for me to sign with no explanation of xtra charges even after I asked multiple times. I should have known better !! Run as employee and definitely don’t waste your time or energy on their awful services.

I brought my mother in due to dehydration from a virus. She was seen immediately in the emergency room. The ER nurse Maria was very attentive. She was admitted and her nurses Irene, Carlos, Maria and Francisco all provided excellent care to room 5054 from 5/19 to 5/21.

When you finally get in to see someone they are all lovely. If you want to schedule anything at their diagnostic or imaging centers go somewhere else. They need to hire more people. Listening to the phone tree for 30 minutes and pressing multiple buttons to wind up at a number with no voicemail or getting hung up on SEVERAL TIMES is frustrating and a complete waste of everyone’s valuable time. GET IT TOGETHER Broward Health.

Worst place on Earth! I waited six hours to be seen .I was with my daughter (10 years old) , I begged the guy at the door to give me my X -ray results and he couldn’t tell me when I was going to see them ! I had to leave because my daughter needed to eat,I have health Insurance and the one time I was in need of help they didn’t come through.People were throwing up in the waiting area and it took a half an hour for someone to show up and clean it. I never saw that the cleaning person applied any Cleaning products to the floor it was just mopped. I only went there bc it is the nearest emergency room in FT Lauderdale that was open. One old lady came into the emergency room at 6:00 she said she needed help and repeated “I’m going to die” almost the whole time, they said they had a bed getting ready for her but she was there till 11:30.but overall there staff were pretty nice.

I just had my beautiful baby girl and they took excellent care of me and of her. Round the clock, very informative, lactation consultants on hand, the attending NP’s were incredible and I could feel their genuine enthusiasm for their jobs and their professionalism was impeccable. I felt very safe and very comfortable and I am extremely thankful for the amazing work they did for us.

I had an AWFUL experience last night at broward health. I was rushed in the ambulance due to my tachycardia (a heart condition), my oxygen was low and my heart rate was super high. Everything was numb and fuzzy. Regardless of the situation, I was treated with much disrespect. I am also autistic and they put me in the most busiest hallway they had and I had a sensory blow out and had to leave the hospital before any test results were given to me. They hooked me on the monitor until my heart rate was 91 and then immediately took me off everything when with tachycardia your heart rate jumps up and down. I will NEVER step back into this hospital EVER again even if I'm dying. I will find a way to get to a different hospital. Congratulations on having such incompetence.

I had to have a COVID test on Saturday in preparation for a pulmonary lung function test on Monday. My appointment was for 12:00. It was my first time there. When I got there, the receptionist said there are no more COVID tests. I said but I have a 12:00 appointment. She said but it’s 12:04. Really?!!! Could the lady doing the test really have left at 12:00? Also, no one told me that I had to be there exactly at 12:00. I could see if I was really late. So the receptionist said I could come early on Monday to do the COVID test before my pulmonary function test. Really?!!! I had originally asked if I could do that in the first place so I wouldn’t have to come two separate days. So I will have to travel 18 miles again and maybe a third time since I will probably not be able to do both the same day. What a terrible way run a medical center. I have lost faith in Broward General Medical Center

I caught COVID and I am pregnant. The ER team did their best to make sure I was fine. Gave me IV fluids and spoke to my Obstetrician to prescribe me the proper medication. They did an ultrasound for me. They made sure the baby was fine. Nurse Jessie was really caring and the doctor was very professional and caring as well.

Worst medical facility I've ever been to!!! Nurses/hospital staff referred to me as 'diarrhea girl' outside my room. Completely disrespectful and disgraceful, especially as someone who was ill in the waiting room for 3.5+ hours. The overall hospital was dirty. The medical staff helping me seemed disorientated and confused. I left feeling worse than when I came in. The only silver lining was the man wearing a mustard sweater at the front desk. He was an angel!!

This place is horrible! Fiancé was diagnosed with a brain eating infection and I had video proof of another family member abusing my fiancé and they kicked her out and let her back in after everything they witnessed because they don’t follow protocol and went against my fiancés wishes allowing them to block me from coming back in or getting any information. Left several voicemails and no body will let me speak to a social worker, case manager, or a health care advocate…. WHAT A MESS!

Best hospital! Brought my 94 year old mother to Broward Health Medical Center a few weeks ago. She was treated by the most caring and compassionate nursing staff. The physicians were professional and patient with her and informed her in a way that she could understand. I will recommend this hospital to all my friends and family.

Pediatric care sucks. You know I am starting to believe Broward health needs a total makeover. Not just this one location but all. I spoke up this time however because it was involving kids and a health care personnel. How dare you refuse to do your job because you didn't want to sanitize after he left out. The crazy part is when you're colleagues said they will take care of it, instead of you being quite you carry on about oh he is doing to much coughing. Funny thing he had on a face mask properly and he was only 3years of age. How about you treat your check the same way and find a new career 🤔

I just spent the day in the Cardiac Cath department. Everyone was wonderful. All my questions were addressed with care. The actual Cath room staff worked like a well-oiled machine, yet took the time to be kind and helpful. Jody, nurse that took care of me before & after the procedure was absolutely awesome. Can’t say enough good things about her. Dr Niederman performed the procedure, and carefully & kindly explained what he discovered, as well as the solution. THANK YOU ALL. Almost slipped my mind. My communication and scheduling were handled by the TAVR coordinator, Sastrie Bharath. Her responses to my texts and willingness to help in all ways was invaluable. Having the ability to communicate directly and quickly with her made the entire process tolerable-even pleasant. THANK YOU

Ok, tough business when none of the customers want to be there. That said, Tough to get a straight answer, I went to ER, a Triage doc saw me about 30 seconds, said we needed to order some test….two hors later I asked the desk, they said my status was ‘waiting’, I inquired waiting for what, they said let me check….5 minutes later they brought me to a room. I was concerned there was nothing to secure belongings, not even a tray or bag, so I counted the cash in my wallet….after a CT scan where they took my wallet phones and keys… my wallet was a $100 bill light. I got admitted to ‘manage the pain’, sleeping thru the night was rough, tests every few hours, the pain, in the morning when the nurse asked me to get up, very painful, nurse asked if I wanted something for the pain….what? ‘You have to ask if you want pain meds’ what? I’m there for pain management no one said I had to asked for meds, I assumed there was a regiment…. All business is slacking lately, it really hurts, in health care. Not sure if any place else is better, but if there’s a next time, I’m going somewhere else. The food was actually pretty good. Wil the nurse in the ER, very good, gave straight answers, or ‘I don’t know, but let me find out’ and actually followed up, and professional. I truly felt he cared and was looking out for me. Throughout my experience a lot of the staff carrying on personal conversations while administering care, not very professional.

My mother was admitted Tuesday night, it is now Thursday afternoon and she has seen one doctor for a total of five minutes and nobody has addressed her problems. The nurses have been as helpful as they can be but the doctors here obviously don't care about their patients. We're leaving and going to Memorial instead. Don't waste your time.

Came into Broward Health Medical Center we had Triage Nurse Taylor she treated my son well making sure he's good before seeing the actual Dr. They probably run the calls off of observance and severity so be careful and note if it is busy you may have to take a nap in a chair. Overall experience was great kid left the hospital fine

This place is by far the most ghetto hospital ever. I didn't receive bad service and everyone who helped was nice. Doctors and nurses are ghetto. They are talking about going to a concert, a nurse being drunk, they curse, play loud music. I wasnt sure if i was at a concert or an er. For a minute i thought i was at a happy hour. This is my first and last time coming here. The people who helped were nice. Even when ambulance calls were coming in they have the loud music playing

Very good maternity care, Drs were respectful, thorough and used common sense. One of the lowest c section rates in Broward County if not the lowest. Allowed me to bring an acupuncturist to the hospital to try to turn my baby and avoid a c section. Same in ER. Drs very thorough and caring. Hematology was extremely unimpressive and uncommunicative. I think I know more about my condition than they did and I have no medical background

I went to the Hollywood branch, and I was well treated. from the security guy to the the dark skinned guy at the front desk who was extremely helpful, not sure of his name but he was really helpful, the spanish girl not so much. Also the NP I met wasn't bad, even though i wanted to see a gynecologist, she did show she had knowledge so i went on with her,the lab techincian lady was also very nice. so I hope my next visit will be even more better than my first experience.

I can only comment on their pediatric wing and er. As an out of towner, I was nervous about taking my child to an unfamiliar hospital. My daughter was super sick. We were immediately seen in the pediatric er. The nurses and doctors were so attentive, professional and caring. They quickly got her hooked up to Iv fluids. They listened to what we had to say and we were so caring towards us. We soon realized we were going to be admitted because of how sick my daughter was. We got a bed very quickly for her and were seen quickly. The ladies up on the 8th floor were so sweet even when my child was distraught and scared. I would definitely bring my child here again if I ever need service in the area. Thank you Broward Healthy!!

Jan Anesthesiologist that works in the maternity department is one of the worst humans I have ever met working in the medical field. My wife was in painful contractions from 7am till 4pm because of Jan. She came several times and didn’t care to redo the epidural correctly. She had no compassion. No humanity and didn’t care about anything. We had to wait till the trauma anesthesiologist was available to help my wife cope with the pain of birth. Jan is like 85 years old and should be terminated immediately. What a terrible human. All of our nurses were great and do not reflect this review. My son Aden Gonzalez was born on 6/11/2023 in this hospital.
